Some thoughts while playing for the first time

I'm 25 hours in and this game honestly got too much hate. Combat is better and more engaging than Inquisition and the level design is gorgeous.

The dialogue could have been better here and there in the opening, like I get that when you're recruiting a new teammate you kinda have to rehash what's going on a bit but it's getting old🤷. I just got my whole team so hopefully that complaint is over.

I will say I'm not a fan of the constant foreshadowing narrations from Varrick, like let me play the game instead of warning me something is going to come get me like every time I recruit someone I get a narration idk.

Oh and that character creator is top top notch. I made Rook into an uncanny looking me. Like it is trippy. Anyways back to the adventure

I would have bought this if it didn't come with red alert

Just venting but I want each of those minions. I already have red alert and I'm not a fan of his powerlinx colors

Why you gotta do me like this hasbro. You could have packaged him with a new character 😭😭😭

Mad God Overhaul 3.8.3, Nvidia 5080, Virtual Desktop, Quest 3

I know my mgo is out of date but I spent months optimizing my setup so I ain't upgrading anytime soon 😂

I get 90 fps with automatic space warp enabled on the ultra virtual desktop graphics preset.

I used vramr to set textures to high to accomplish this level of performance

Steam dual sense adaptive triggers not working all of a sudden

The triggers were working but they stopped all of a sudden

So steam input is disabled, the game thinks my dual sense edge is a Xbox controller, and there is no option to enable the adaptive triggers in the games settings

Controller is wired

The PlayStation software says the firmware is up to date, not sure what's going on

Dry brushing advice

I want to dry brush the silver paint a bit on this oversized challenger figure so that it isn't as bright / shiny

I ordered this paint off of Amazon - https://a.co/d/0cxhngPU

hoping it will do the job.

This is my first time attempting dry brushing, I'm planning to get some practice in with the staff of Merlin it came with but any advice would be nice.

I'm not going or a total repaint just want to make him look less pristine

PC Performance tips

TLDR - In the game settings turn off rtx direct lighting that was the culprit for memory leak for me. Optimize game with Nvidia control panel

Hi all,

I'm about 30 hours in to playing outlaws on PC and I just wanted to post a couple "optimizations" I learned combining the Internet for any other new players later on.

Something to be aware of is that the game has memory leaking and boy is it still a problem.

So I have a 5080 graphics card and I'm rather new to pc gaming. At first, I played the game on the high preset and the ultra preset - using dlss x2 with the biased and performance options select. After 40 mins to an hour the game started lagging like crazy and would eventually crash. I was getting 118 frames as that's what I capped my frame rate but it was enjoyable.

So a couple things that helped me and they are probably basic known tips for experienced PC gamers.

Set your PC's power mode to high performance

Use the nvidia app to optimize your game

In the nvidia app cap your frame rate to just under your display's refresh rate - my OLED tv max refresh rate is 120 so I cap my game at 118.

Next in the nvidia app set power to high performance and enable gsync if your monitor has variable refresh rate.

Now in the game settings turn off rtx direct lighting that was the culprit for memory leak for me.

Enable exclusive full screen and uncap the cinematics ( I have my game set to 4K resolution (3840 x 2160)

With the extra headroom in my vram for a 5080 I was able to change my dlss settings from performance to balanced.

Finally I like sharpening up the game, up to your preference but there is a game file you can modify. Linked here

Anyways cherry on top for me I installed the reshade graphics software and used the preset linked here on nexus mods

https://www.nexusmods.com/starwarsoutlaws/mods/11

I turned off the fake hdr and the vignette and man does my game look and run fantastic.

I've played about 3 hours in one sitting with these settings and this mod with no issues 🎉

I get an average frame rate between 98 ish to 110 ish, game looks like a movie man.

Hope someone will find this information helpful

FYI Blitzway Voltron Legendary Defender loose joints

The legs on the red and green lion and ridiculously loose on my copy. I have tightened the screws as much as I can and the legs still buckle under the weight of the figure in lion mode.

Going to try some joint stiffener next
