Does anyone do the Tahoe work commute?

There’s a job up there I want to apply for. Rent is too expensive up the hill.

I’d love to hear from anyone currently doing the Sac → Tahoe commute. How many days a week are you commuting, and how stressful/manageable has it been?

Also, what’s your commute like - driving, Amtrak or a combination? Would you recommend it?

(Credit to the sac->sf commuter post for reminding me to ask)

Question about TSA confiscation

Is there an auction website people use for collecting their EDC stuff?

Govdeals.com is a little vague on what’s in the knife lots.

Male Ruffed Grouse filmed drumming to attract a mate.

A male ruffed grouse drums from his log in the spring forest, beating his wings so rapidly to produce a deep thumping sound that can be heard up to 400 meters (a quarter mile) away, both attracting females and warning rival males to stay clear of his territory.

When a female moves in close, he switches to quieter close range tapping. After mating, the female raises the young entirely on her own.
