Spain in TC: Inquisitorial Crown of Iberia

Note: Here is the official lore for spain in TC: Gibraltar is heretic controlled and the Crown of Castile and Aragorn (Spain) exists as one of the strongest faithful fleets whom also maintain trade with he natives in the new world

I want to give my own spin to it.

Few of the Faithful nations are as thoroughly controlled by the Holy Inquisition as the Inquisitorial Crown of Iberia.

The Crown of Castile and Aragón has maintained a state of almost perpetual war against the Heretics since the fall of Gibraltar, and over the centuries this has resulted in the gradual expansion of the Inquisition into almost every aspect of Iberian life. What began as an institution concerned primarily with the investigation of heresy has become responsible for internal security, military discipline, border control, censorship, intelligence gathering and the identification of demonic corruption. The Inquisition maintains offices in every major city, inspectors in every important port and informants in most settlements of any considerable size.

The Iberians have good reason to fear infiltration. Heretic agents have repeatedly been discovered within the Crown’s territories, sometimes after remaining undetected for decades. Cults have been uncovered among merchants, soldiers, nobles and clergy, while demonic entities have been known to disguise themselves as ordinary men. Heretic spies have been captured attempting to sabotage arsenals, poison wells, destroy ships and spread corrupted religious texts. Several entire military units have been found to have been compromised by Heretic agents.

Consequently, Iberian authorities consider vigilance against heresy to be a responsibility shared by every citizen. Citizens are expected to report suspicious behaviour to the nearest inquisitorial office. Priests are required to report unusual confessions and deviations from approved doctrine. Military officers must report soldiers displaying signs of disobedience, corruption or unusual sympathies. Merchants are expected to report customers attempting to purchase restricted materials, and ship captains are required to provide detailed manifests of their passengers and cargo before entering an Iberian port. Failure to report suspected heresy is itself considered a serious offence.

The resulting system is extremely effective but It is also extremely unpleasant to live under. Every year, tens of thousands of Iberians are arrested by the Inquisition. Some are confirmed Heretic agents, some are members of demonic cults, and others are guilty of comparatively minor religious offences. A significant number are eventually released after investigation, although this does little to reassure those who have witnessed their neighbours being taken away during the night.

Interrogations are conducted by trained inquisitors, with the methods employed depending upon the nature of the suspected crime. Those accused of serious heresy are expected to provide a confession and identify any other individuals involved in their activities. The Inquisition considers the discovery of an entire network considerably more valuable than the conviction of a single heretic, and consequently interrogation frequently continues after an initial confession has been obtained.

Those who repent may be spared execution. Repentance, however, does not necessarily mean freedom. Many repentant heretics are sentenced to penitential service in the armies of the Crown. They are brain washed and tortured until they break before they deem fit for service. Such soldiers are commonly assigned to the most dangerous formations and given the least desirable duties. Their service is considered an opportunity to demonstrate the sincerity of their repentance, although few survive long enough to complete their sentences.

Public executions remain common throughout Iberia. Those condemned are often paraded through the streets before being executed in the presence of the local population. The Inquisition considers these executions an important part of public education, and the crimes of the condemned are announced before their punishment. Children are frequently permitted to attend, and schools sometimes arrange visits to executions as part of religious instruction.

—New Antioch Variant: Conquistador Fleets

Unlike other naval formations, the Conquistador Fleets are specially commissioned heavy armadas created to strike at the very heart of the enemy. They operate primarily in the New World, where they conduct offensive campaigns against Heretic strongholds and other threats to the Faithful. The fleets often fight alongside allied native forces, whose knowledge of the land and its dangers is invaluable in preventing the corruption of the New World by the forces of Hell.

-Conquistador: (Lieutenant Variation)

-Trench Inquisitor: (Trench Cleric Variant)

-Duelist Priest: (Close Range Sniper Priest Variant which also uses rapier & pistols)

-Tercio Trooper: (Shock Trooper Variant)

—Rules:

-Heretic Hunters: All Conquistador Fleets armies must have 1 Trench Inquisitor and 1 Witch Burner

-Blood Money: All Mercenaries Cost -1 Glory Points

An idea for Minotaurs in Beastmen:

I was reading the Beastmen lore, particularly the part about Minotaurs, and I never really liked the idea of them being an entirely separate sub-species. It got me thinking about a different approach.

What if Minotaurs were simply Beastmen who had received the Gifts of Khorne? Exceptionally powerful Beastmen already earn Khorne’s favor in exchange for even greater strength, but Khornate Beastmen have always felt a bit redundant to me. Making Minotaurs Khorne’s foremost champions instead would give them a much clearer identity and a stronger thematic role within Beastmen society.

I think the same concept could apply to Centaurs (or Centigors) as well. Rather than existing as a separate species, they could be Beastmen blessed by Slaanesh. Their increased speed, grace, and indulgent, hedonistic nature fit Slaanesh’s themes perfectly, making them feel like a natural counterpart to Minotaurs as Khorne’s chosen.

I know Khorngors, Pestigors, Tzaangors, Slaangors, and the other God-aligned Beastmen already exist, but I feel the Beastmen race has become a little overcrowded with so many subspecies. Rather than introducing yet another type of Gor for each Chaos God while also keeping Minotaurs, Centigors, and the rest as separate races, I’d rather streamline the concept.

Having Beastmen physically ascend into iconic forms through the blessings of the Dark Gods feels more thematic for me. It reinforces the idea that Chaos is constantly reshaping its followers instead of simply dividing them into more and more biological categories. A Beastman isn’t born a Minotaur or a Centigor, they become one after earning the favor of their patron deity.

To me, that makes these creatures feel less like separate species and more like the ultimate expression of a Beastman’s devotion, while also making the Beastmen roster cleaner, more cohesive, and easier to understand.

Would Love Feedback on My Arab-Inspired Faction for an Alternate History Occult Setting

Hi everyone! I’m creating an alternate-history occult setting inspired by works like Trench Crusade, World of Darkness, and Hellboy, but with my own lore and mythology.

The setting diverges in 1947, when Nazies succeed in opening gateways between Earth and Hell. Humanity enters a global war known as the Armageddon War, forcing civilizations around the world to respond according to their own history, culture, and religious traditions. Every major civilization has its own interpretation of the supernatural. For the Middle East, I wanted to create a faction inspired by Islamic history and traditions while avoiding stereotypes or simply copying existing settings like the Iron Sultanate from Trench Crusade.

Some nations within the setting itself:

Some nations within the setting itself:

Do you think the opening of the Gates of Hell could have triggered a worldwide “Awakening” style phenomenon, similar to what happened in Shadowrun?

For those unfamiliar with the setting, the Awakening was a global magical event in 2011 that marked the return of magic to the world. It led to the appearance of mages, spirits, magical creatures, and metahuman races, fundamentally reshaping society, religion, politics, and warfare.

I’m curious whether the opening of Hell in this setting could have had a similar effect, not just unleashing demons, but also reintroducing supernatural forces across the entire world and permanently changing humanity’s relationship with the occult.

What are some hard rules you established for certain spells to keep them from breaking the world?

Here are some of mine:

**Resurrection**
Resurrection is possible, but it is never free.
A necromancer must intervene almost immediately after death. If too much time passes, the soul begins to unravel or depart, and while the body can still be restored, the person’s memories, personality, and identity are lost forever.
The ritual also demands an equivalent sacrifice. To restore one life, two living members of the same race must willingly or unwillingly give theirs. Should the same individual be resurrected again, the price doubles, four lives for the second resurrection, eight for the third, sixteen for the fourth, and so on. Eventually, the cost becomes impossible for all but the greatest kingdoms to bear.
Even those who return are forever marked by death. They carry a lingering stain that never truly fades. Misfortune seems drawn to them: illness takes hold more easily, accidents become more frequent, and they often find themselves in unusually dangerous circumstances. Their lifespans are also noticeably shorter than those of others of their race, as though death is forever trying to reclaim what it once possessed.

**Prophecy**
Prophecy is not the act of observing the future, it is the act of changing it.
The moment a seer witnesses a possible future, that very vision begins to alter the course of events. Even the knowledge gained from the prophecy influences decisions, creating ripples that reshape what was foreseen.
Because of this, no prophecy is ever perfectly accurate. Visions of the immediate future tend to remain largely intact, as there is little time for events to diverge. Prophecies that look years or centuries ahead, however, become increasingly unreliable. The countless choices made in response to the vision can transform the future beyond recognition.
Thus, every prophecy is both true and false: it reveals the future that *would* have been, had no one seen it.

It’s pretty simple: you’ll review my character, and I’ll review yours. I’m not looking for an in-depth critique, I’m more interested in your overall impression. Do you think the character is cool? If you were to redesign or change any of their features, what would you alter?

Absolute Star Wars: Anakin Rewrite

Note: This is the first draft. Overtime it might get updated or changed.

Note 2: This is less of a rewrite but more like a new universe all together, inspired by the absolute universe from dc comics

—Prologue:

In this version of the timeline, slavery on Tatooine is significantly harsher than in canon.

Instead of being used mainly for manual labor, slave children are forced to work in underground factories owned by the Hutt Cartels and other criminal organizations. They manufacture blasters, starship components, battle droids, explosives, and other military equipment. Entire generations spend their lives producing weapons that are later sold across the galaxy.

Anakin Skywalker grows up in one of these factories. Even as a young child, he displays an exceptional talent for engineering. By the age of eight, he is repairing advanced droids, modifying engines, and solving mechanical problems that most adult technicians struggle with. Because of this, the Hutts see him as one of their most valuable assets.

Years before the events of PM, Qui-Gon Jinn is exiled from the Jedi Order after repeatedly refusing to follow the Council’s decisions. Instead of returning to Coruscant, he spends his time in the Outer Rim, helping slave populations and disrupting criminal operations wherever he can.
During one of these missions, Qui-Gon arrives on Tatooine. With Shmi Skywalker’s help, he organizes an escape for Anakin and many other slaves. However, the escape is discovered before everyone can get away. Mercenaries hired by the Hutts intercept the group and open fire.
Shmi is hit while protecting Anakin and falls down the ship into the desert.

Believing that his mother has been killed, Anakin instinctively releases a massive surge of Force lightning. Unable to control his powers, he kills not only the mercenaries but also many of the escaping slaves and nearby civilians. Vehicles are destroyed, droids are disabled, and much of the surrounding area is devastated. When the incident is over, dozens of people are dead. Anakin remembers very little of what happened.

After witnessing the event, Qui-Gon realizes that Anakin possesses extraordinary Force potential, but that his abilities are closely tied to his emotional state. Rather than abandoning or fearing him, Qui-Gon decides to take responsibility for training him, believing that if Anakin is left without guidance, his power could become dangerous to both himself and everyone around him.

—Phantom Menace:

The events of PM generally follow the same broad outline as in canon, although several key details are different.

During a mission involving the Trade Federation and Naboo, Qui-Gon Jinn randomly encounters and reunites with his former Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Although Qui-Gon was exiled from the Jedi Order years earlier, Obi-Wan still respects him as the master who trained him. The two disagree on many of Qui-Gon’s decisions, but they continue to trust one another.

During the mission, Qui-Gon introduces Obi-Wan to Anakin Skywalker and explains his background, including the incident on Tatooine in which Anakin unintentionally killed both the mercenaries attacking the escaping slaves and many of the slaves he was trying to save. Obi-Wan is initially cautious, but he quickly sees that Anakin is a good-hearted child struggling to control abilities far beyond what someone his age should possess.

Over the course of the mission, Anakin and Obi-Wan develop a close bond. While Qui-Gon remains Anakin’s primary teacher, Obi-Wan gradually becomes an older brother figure. Qui-Gon encourages Anakin to trust his instincts and think independently, while Obi-Wan emphasizes discipline, patience, and self-control. The three develop a strong relationship despite their different personalities.

During the Battle of Naboo, Qui-Gon is killed by Darth Maul, much like in the original timeline. His death has a profound impact on both Obi-Wan and Anakin. Obi-Wan loses the mentor who raised him, while Anakin loses the first person who believed he could become more than the frightened slave boy from Tatooine.

Following Qui-Gon’s death, Obi-Wan honors his master’s wishes by taking Anakin as his Padawan. Although several members of the Jedi Council question whether Anakin should be trained at all, Obi-Wan argues that abandoning him after Qui-Gon’s death would only increase the risk of his powers becoming unstable. After considerable debate, the Council reluctantly approves Anakin’s apprenticeship and formally admits him into the Jedi Order.

—Attack of the Clones:

Several years pass, and Anakin develops into one of the most talented Jedi of his generation. He quickly earns a reputation as an exceptional lightsaber duelist, an accomplished pilot, and a gifted tactician. His connection to the Force is unusually strong, allowing him to master techniques that many Jedi spend decades learning.

Despite his abilities, Anakin never fully fits into the Jedi Order.

Much of this stems from the philosophical differences between him and the Council. The Jedi teach detachment and emotional discipline, believing that strong attachments can ultimately lead to fear, anger, and suffering. Anakin does not reject emotional control, but he disagrees with the idea that attachment itself is inherently dangerous. He believes compassion, love, and personal relationships give people a reason to protect others rather than a weakness to overcome.
These disagreements become more noticeable as he grows older. Although respected for his abilities, Anakin is often viewed by the Council as impulsive, independent, and too willing to question long-standing Jedi traditions. Several Masters privately conclude that he embodies qualities they do not wish future Jedi to emulate.

To remove him from the political tensions on Coruscant, the Council assigns Anakin to protect Senator Padmé Amidala following attempts on her life. Officially, it is an important diplomatic mission. Unofficially, some members of the Council believe that time away from the Temple may help Anakin decide whether he truly wants the life of a Jedi. If he eventually chooses to leave the Order on his own terms, they believe it would avoid a much more difficult confrontation.

During the assignment, Anakin and Padmé develop a romantic relationship. However, Anakin has no intention of leaving the Jedi Order. Rather than abandoning it, he hopes to reform it from within. He believes the Order has become too detached from the people it exists to protect and that its strict interpretation of attachment has caused it to lose sight of compassion. Knowing the Council would never approve of either his relationship or his views, he keeps both secret. Obi-Wan gradually realizes the truth but chooses not to expose him, believing that forcing the issue would only drive Anakin further away.

Around this time, Anakin begins experiencing repeated Force visions of his mother. Unlike the vision that led to her apparent death years earlier, these visions suggest that she survived and is once again being held by slavers on Tatooine.

Convinced the visions are genuine, Anakin asks the Council for permission to investigate. The request is denied. The Council argues that his personal attachment to his mother is clouding his judgment and warns that acting on such emotions could lead him down a dangerous path.

Anakin ignores their decision and travels to Tatooine alone. The visions prove to be accurate. Shmi Skywalker survived the earlier escape attempt but was later captured by another slave syndicate. Anakin reaches her shortly before she dies from her injuries.

Overcome with grief, he loses control of the Force for the second time in his life.
A massive surge of Force lightning devastates the settlement. The slavers are killed, but so are many of the people they had enslaved. Workers, families, and children caught in the fighting die alongside their captors as buildings collapse and weapons detonate throughout the compound.

When Anakin regains control, hundreds of people are dead.

The incident leaves him deeply traumatized. Once again, he had tried to save someone he loved, and once again his own power had caused the deaths of countless innocent people. The memory of what happened follows him long after he returns from Tatooine.

Padmé continues to believe that Anakin is fundamentally a good person and encourages him not to define himself by his worst moments. Obi-Wan also refuses to abandon him, insisting that one tragedy does not determine who he will become.

Anakin, however, struggles to accept either of their reassurance. He begins to see a pattern in his own life: whenever he loses control, innocent people die. Instead of viewing his extraordinary abilities as a gift, he increasingly comes to see them as something dangerous that hurts the very people he wants to protect.
This experience marks the beginning of his growing self-doubt and reinforces his belief that the Jedi Order fears him for reasons he can no longer dismiss.

—Revenge of the Sith: (Part 1)

As the Clone Wars continue, Anakin gradually comes to believe that war is the one place where he truly belongs. On the battlefield, he is able to protect civilians, liberate occupied worlds, and save the lives of countless clone troopers. Unlike the Temple, where his methods are constantly questioned, the front lines provide clear results.

Over the course of the war, Anakin becomes one of the Republic’s most successful military commanders. He leads more campaigns than almost any other Jedi and develops a reputation for ending battles quickly through aggressive tactics. His victories earn him the admiration of the Republic, the loyalty of his soldiers, and the respect of many younger Jedi, even if the Council remains cautious of his methods.
As the war nears its conclusion, Anakin believes he has finally proven himself. Although he still disagrees with many of the Order’s traditions, he believes his years of service have demonstrated both his commitment and his character. Confident that he has earned their trust, he requests a permanent seat on the Jedi Council.

The Council instead convenes a formal hearing.

Rather than discussing his accomplishments, they present evidence of repeated violations of the Jedi Code.
They reveal that they know about his secret relationship with Senator Padmé Amidala. They know he disobeyed direct orders by traveling to Tatooine. They know about the massacre that followed his mother’s death and the hundreds of civilians who died alongside the slavers. Finally, they argue that years of warfare have only reinforced Anakin’s increasingly aggressive and emotionally driven approach to conflict.
Anakin is stunned.

Very few people knew about many of these events. Some details had never been reported to the Council at all.
When he demands to know how they obtained this information, Mace Windu refuses to answer, stating that the source is irrelevant. The Council’s responsibility, he says, is to judge whether Anakin remains worthy of being a Jedi. After deliberation, the Council concludes that he does not.

Citing repeated violations of the Jedi Code, deception toward the Order, and conduct they believe is incompatible with Jedi ideals, they formally expel Anakin from the Jedi Order shortly after the end of the Clone Wars.

Anakin is devastated.

He argues that the Order willingly overlooked these same actions while the Republic needed him to fight its war. If they truly believed he was unfit, he asks, why wait until the war was over? To him, the timing is impossible to ignore. He accuses the Council of using him as a weapon until he was no longer useful.
The Council rejects the accusation. Several Masters explain that they had hoped Anakin would mature over time and eventually overcome the flaws that had concerned them since his childhood. Instead, they believe the war only amplified those flaws.

Anakin refuses to accept their explanation.

He leaves the Temple in anger, convinced that the Order never intended to accept him regardless of how faithfully he served.
As he reaches the Temple entrance, Obi-Wan catches up to him and tries to stop him.

Obi-Wan insists there must still be a way to resolve the situation and asks Anakin not to leave like this.
Instead, Anakin confronts him with a single question.

“Did you tell them?”

Only Obi-Wan and Padmé knew the full truth about what happened on Tatooine. Anakin cannot imagine anyone else who could have revealed it.
Obi-Wan immediately denies it.

He tells Anakin that he never betrayed his trust and that he would never expose him to the Council.
But after everything that has happened, Anakin no longer knows who to believe.

Convinced that even his closest friend has abandoned him, he walks away from the Jedi Temple.
For the first time since Qui-Gon’s death, Anakin Skywalker is completely alone.

Unknown to either Anakin or the Jedi Council, the information presented during the hearing did not come from Obi-Wan or from any Jedi investigation. For years, Chancellor Palpatine had maintained a network of agents tasked with secretly monitoring Anakin’s activities. Shortly before the hearing, Palpatine anonymously supplied the Council with carefully selected evidence of Anakin’s actions. While every piece of evidence was genuine, its timing was deliberate, ensuring that Anakin’s expulsion would occur immediately after the Clone Wars had ended and maximizing the resentment he would feel toward the Jedi Order.

The story will continue later on.

Biology of my Dwarven Race

—Head:
The head of a Dwarf is broad and heavily built, with a thick jaw, pronounced brow ridges, and sturdy facial features that give the race its unmistakable appearance. Their eyes are much like those of humans in shape and color, although many Dwarves possess irises that catch the light with a faint, gemstone-like shimmer. Among their people, this subtle trait is often seen as a sign of divine favor.
Hair is one of the race’s most recognizable features. It grows thick, coarse, and naturally resilient, most commonly in shades of grey, bronze, silver, and gold. Both men and women are capable of growing beards and mustaches, although female facial hair is generally finer and less common. Male Dwarves, by comparison, usually grow hair far more quickly and develop thicker beards over the course of their lives.
Unlike that of most races, Dwarven hair resists heat exceptionally well. It rarely burns or singes under conditions that would damage ordinary hair, making it well suited to life spent around furnaces, forges, and open flames. Because it continues growing throughout most of a Dwarf’s life, elaborate braids and carefully maintained beards often reflect a person’s age, family, profession, or social standing.

—External Body:
Dwarves are short, broad, and remarkably solid. Most adults stand between 4.2 and 5.3 feet (1.28–1.61 m) in height, yet their dense muscles and heavy bones often give them the weight of a much taller human.
Their skin is thicker than that of most humanoids and commonly ranges from pale stone colors to rich earthy tones. A wax-like secretion coats the skin, reducing moisture loss while offering a degree of protection from intense radiant heat. This natural defense, combined with their unusually thick hide, allows Dwarves to spend long hours working around blazing furnaces, molten metal, and volcanic environments with relatively little discomfort.

—Internal Body:
Nearly every part of a Dwarf’s body is built for durability rather than speed.
Their compact proportions create a naturally low center of gravity, while their considerable weight gives them outstanding balance. Loose rock, steep slopes, and unstable ground rarely trouble experienced Dwarves, who are difficult to knock off their feet even under harsh conditions.
Although they lack the long stride of taller races, they move confidently across rough terrain. Their shorter limbs reduce their overall speed and reach, but they compensate with sure-footedness and stamina.
The Dwarven skeleton is exceptionally dense, making broken bones uncommon even after injuries that would cripple others. Powerful muscles are packed tightly onto this frame, allowing Dwarves to produce impressive strength despite their modest height. Long days of physical labor are routine for them, and they recover from fatigue with remarkable efficiency.
Their hearts and lungs are adapted for sustained effort instead of explosive movement. Whether mining, marching, or fighting, Dwarves excel at maintaining a steady pace for long periods. Their lungs also filter dust, smoke, and other airborne impurities with unusual efficiency, making underground life far less hazardous for them than it would be for most races.
Their internal organs are equally resilient. The liver and kidneys tolerate toxins exceptionally well, while a robust immune system provides a high degree of resistance against disease. Dwarves are by no means immune to poison or illness, but they frequently survive conditions that would kill members of other races.
Dwarves attribute these traits to the Divine Gift of Endurance, a blessing inherited from the gods. More than simple toughness, this gift gives their bodies an extraordinary resistance to change.
Because of this, curses, mutations, possession, and other supernatural effects struggle to take hold. The same resistance also affects beneficial magic. Healing spells, blessings, magical enhancements, and transformative enchantments all require greater effort to influence a Dwarf than they would most other peoples.
Their natural healing reflects this same principle. Recovery is deliberate rather than rapid. Wounds may close more slowly than those of humans, yet bones usually heal correctly, lasting injuries are uncommon, and the body continually attempts to restore itself to its original condition.
This stability has its disadvantages. Dwarves adapt slowly to unfamiliar environments, develop natural immunities at a slower pace, and respond poorly to magical augmentation. Their great physical density also makes swimming difficult. Most sink quickly in deep water and suffer heavier impacts from falls than lighter races.

—Reproduction:
The same stability that defines Dwarven physiology also shapes their reproduction.
Pregnancy lasts close to two years, making it one of the longest among the mortal races, exceeded only by the Elves. Nearly every birth results in a single healthy child. Twins are so uncommon that many Dwarves live their entire lives without ever meeting one.
Newborn Dwarves are sturdy from the moment they enter the world. They possess unusually strong constitutions and dense skeletal structures, though they mature at a slower pace than humans. Childhood is long, but growth is steady, and congenital illnesses or developmental abnormalities are exceptionally rare.
Most Dwarves reach physical adulthood at about twenty-two years of age.
A typical lifespan ranges from two hundred to two hundred fifty years, although a fortunate few live beyond three centuries. Unlike Elves, whose youthful appearance changes little over the centuries, Dwarves visibly age much like humans before the process slows considerably. Even those whose faces are lined with age often retain the strength, endurance, and clarity of mind needed to remain active members of their communities for decades to come.
