Viewership in Norway for the Eurovision finale has declined.

The finale had 676 000 viewers with over 800 000 tuning in for Jonas Lovv performing and over 80% of TV viewers that night watching Eurovision.

For statistics, here are the numbers for the decade:

  • 2021: 1.481 000
  • 2022: 1 231 000.
  • 2023: 1 076 000.
  • 2024: 884 000.
  • 2025: 844 000.

The semis had 320 000 viewers for round 1 (without Norway) and 488 000 viewers for round 2 (with Norway). As a comparison for the finale's numbers, Melodi Grand Prix had a record low 605 000 viewers when it aired at the end of February.

In a statement, delegation head Mads Tørklep said "We do wish the numbers were higher than they are but it's understandable that people had other things to do the night before the Constitution Day.".

Forræder won Best Competetive Reality at Gullruten (Norway's Emmys).

Mads Hansen was also nominated for Best Host - Entertainment but lost to former contestant and Traitor Marte Stokstad for Adresse Basel, the lead-in show for Eurovision in 2025.

I completely overlooked it when they announced the nominees 2 weeks ago, and I've had some stuff going on, but better late than never. And before you ask about the screengrabs looking different, I already had one of them prepped for something else.

Gullruten is May 8th so we'll see if it wins then. Additionally, season 4 contestant Vivild Falk Berg has a Best Actor nomination for the Canneseries winning drama Nepobaby. Forræder was renewed for season 6 ahead of the season 5 finale late last year so it airing this fall is not out of the question.
