Community checkup
I've heard recently that some members believe that the quality of the subreddit has decreased drastically. And while I like to take a very laissez-faire approach to moderation, it is still important for me to listen to the community
The metrics are interesting, we've had more engagement, but member count is going down
The rules have been firmly established, yet usually members here tend to break the rules, and I then have to clean them up. Several times I've had to add the AI label to AI posts, NSFW offensive posts and remove rule 6 offending posts
I don't want to become an iron-fisted dictator and remove any post that breaks the rules and give those users zero chance to fix their mistakes, but it seems to have an effect on new users. Whenever a post is uploaded that brutally violates rule 6, and I'm not around to remove it, a new user sees someone openly talking about a teenager in a sexual way, which makes them leave
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions as to how to improve the quality of the sub and moderation whilst still keeping the general sharty spirit of the sub alive, that would be greatloy appreciated
