Girlfriend and I want to spend Labor Day on a small little getaway. Like a cabin or something. We have a small puppy we’d love to take. She’s thinking Tahoe but I’m open to ideas. Any places most don’t know about or would thing about?

I know I’m asking for places outside of LA but I’m asking the residents here as we live here and would love to know of any affordable places that are pet friendly that we could drive to as we love road trips. Tahoe has a place called Holly’s place that is designed for dogs and is cabins so we might do that but we’re open to Santa Barbara or big bear but it’s hard to research what’s a good deal what’s a place to avoid so I figured to ask here for anyone who would have good advice on places that aren’t scams or false leading based on the images online , any ideas?

Edit: WE BOOKED THE LAKE ARROWHEAD A FRAME CABIN YOU GUYS ALWAYS COME THROUGH!!!

Got my first “Sponsor” what should I do from here?

Wrote to a bunch of brands and Ottobox a dash cam maker sent me their 199.99 dollar dash cam system which is pretty cool. No money exchanged but I just got the product and so, I’ll do my part and throw it into my video ( I review cars dealerships let me borrow for a day ) and I’m proud I am I’d prefer money but, I’ve been needing a new dash cam and they said I can have it for a simple spot in a video. It also has CarPlay built in which means you connect to your screen , allows YouTube and best feature, can view the cameras on your built in screen if you don’t wanna use the app

So I’m happy about it but more so I’d like to use it as a leapfrog to write to more brands and sponsors. Eventually making a few bucks to help with bills would be nice and somehow in the last few months my channel views and engagement and CTR is growing a lot. Subscribers are up 200 in under a month so I feel good

Figured to ask. Sure its not money but its something and would love to know if you guys ever started with just a free product and where you went from there.

I was also emailed recently from a company that makes roof racks and they also offered me free product in exchange for a shoutout but roof racks dont pay bills lol

I did email them back and state im only doing paid sponsors, I hope that doesn’t bite me in the butt but hey maybe they say yes lol

12 years ago I got to see Em front row at the Monster Tour.

The three times I’ve seen him in life

2005: Anger Management Tour , Madison Square Garden.

2010: Yankee Stadium ( Em and Jay, seeing the very rare renegade performed live )

2014: Pasadena, CA: just moved to LA and got tickets via a boss at Capitol Records where I was working at the time. ( em not on Capitol but promoters all knew each other and it worked out for me! Had to get there at 5am to make sure I was in front of the Pit! )

Keep seeing these on peoples side view mirrors.

It’s like drilled in and held under the mirror I know it’s not a factory thing plus I’ve seen them on different brands and they are on both side view mirrors. Any ideas?

Flock camera megathread

We’re consolidating this topic into a single thread, as the ongoing accusations directed at the mod team have run their course.

To be clear about where we stand: no one on this mod team supports Flock cameras. We are not law enforcement, we are not politically motivated, not maga, and we share the community’s concerns about surveillance overreach even if these systems occasionally assist in solving crimes.

The removals were not about viewpoint. They were about a specific category of comment: those encouraging users to destroy the cameras. Reddit has banned entire communities for less, and we are obligated to remove that content regardless of our personal opinions. This is a condition of the subreddit continuing to exist, not an endorsement of Flock. Additionally there were some very wild conspiracy theories and were asking for discussion not a rabbit hole.

One rule for this thread: do not recommend, insinuate, or hint at destruction as a solution. Everything else is open, criticism, policy discussion, legal challenges, city council contacts, organizing, data on effectiveness. Go as hard as you want within that boundary.

Thanks for being a genuinely great community and good neighbors.

Suffolk approved expanding county Flock cameras from 25 to 60 last August, funded by a $542,500 state LETECH grant, with 16 more planned along state rights-of-way including Route 114 in Sag Harbor and East Hampton Village and Route 25 in Riverhead and Southold.

Riverhead signed an agreement with the Suffolk Sheriff in January 2026 giving the county access to town rights-of-way for new Flock installs. Town board public comment periods are open to anyone who lives there, take about two minutes, and go on the record.

Why does this city have sooooo many out of date registration plates?

I’m seriously in fear when I’m on the roads. Teslas and Porsches and Mercedes among the many of regular brands I see. 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024. Everyday I use my car for the half hour I’m on the road I lose count after 20 how many plates I’m behind that are just not registered. And if they are and didn’t put the sticker on that’s lazy. But I just know due to the policies of no consequences in this city that more likely than not these cars are actually not registered which makes me assume they have no insurance you have to assume that as safety. I give a wide birth to that vehicle when I notice it.

I’ve lived in many cities and states and have seen a normal amount of this but my God. I mean right before getting home tonight the plate in front of me at a light was 2020! 6 years? You couldn’t save up for 6 years?

I went shopping in century city the other day and parked at the far end of the structure and I walked and saw car plates and took photos. Out of the hundred I passed I counted the pictures….. 20! That’s just shocking to me. I deleted them I just did it to count but this city has a crazy problem and no enforcement

What’s the point of a state putting tags on the back plates, which are really there for cops to check you at a light, if they don’t enforce it? At that point make it 2 years and give me a sticker for my windshield like a normal fucking state does it.

Lastly before my rant is over “make sure to slice your sticker so people don’t steal them”

If that’s a LPT, that’s admitting it’s a stupid stupid stupid system. Didn’t have to deal with that shit in NY or Texas lol!

I was able to review the all new 2026.5 Nissan Rogue in the rock creek trim! As a former Nissan salesman I liked it!

I had a blast reviewing this, although there are a ton of compromises on this trim. But outside of that the drive was quite nice and got me passed my CVT biases ( although longevity we still need time to see with their “improved” transmission. Rides great! Love the looks! Hope you guys like my skit in the intro haha. Please please share any thoughts or critiques or feedback. My channel is small and I don’t care about views I genuinely just love sharing my car content to the fans and owners of the brand!

Thank you so much for being such a dope community.

May I review your new car?

Hey everyone! I review cars on YouTube. So far I’ve built a pretty decent network of dealerships that let me review their products. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Infiniti, Chevy, Mini and BMW.

I’m trying to add more, and dealerships are great but it’s hit or miss with dealerships and I’d like to start adding Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, Acura, VW, Ford, Lincoln, etc pretty much the rest.

I can’t offer money, the perk of a dealership is I make a little shoutout commercial for them within my video as free advertising in exchange for time with the car. My profile here has my channel and you can see I put effort into the videos. I can offer in video support, thank you, promotion of your own socials, family needs or fundraisers or causes you are passionate about. I’m respectful, understanding of time would totally be down if you wanted to be on camera or stay out of it, your call your car your rules.

I have momentum on the channel and while it’s small I just don’t want to give up on it as this is a genuine passion of mine a hobby I love and I just feel unlike working for someone else these days if I keep doing it and work hard on it maybe it could pan out to being independent instead of someone else’s employee.

But for now I’d just like to review your car lol

Thank you so much!

Only requirements would be 26-27 unless you have a really cool unique or special car. Thank you guys, any trim works for me!

So, may I review your car?

Here’s a teaser intro for my upcoming YouTube review. The throttle house guys inspired me and figured you guys would get a laugh.

u/DinoRoman — 1 month ago

Found out last minute I’m getting to review a rock creek rogue 26 for YouTube tomorrow. What do you wanna see in a video? When researching car on YouTube what do you wanna know ?

Figured to ask the community. I like making essay style videos at my intro and outro with a full show of the car inside and out as the middle. Wanted to ask before you got yours or if you’re shopping what do you wanna see? I’d love to share the video here when I’m done but I’d love to wake up tomorrow with ideas so that when people search YouTube for this my video might stand out as different or “finally! This guy talks about X!”

Thank you for the help, as a former Nissan salesman myself ( back in 2008 lol ) Nissan holds a genuine spot in my heart so I wanna do this video right.

Is it normal to hear a click or sometimes clank when reversing?

I park in an apartment buildings underground parking and I usually park head in so when I reverse and cut the wheel on my 25 CRV hybrid Sport L sometimes when I reverse and cut the wheel I hear like a clank nothing bad but just like it’s maybe part of the motions but it always weirds me out wanted to ask if anyone else has had this issue?

Looking for advice on my YouTube format

I run a YouTube channel reviewing cars I’ve built relationships to access through a network of dealerships over the past year. They like how I handle their product and treat it with respect, and it’s gotten me access to BMW, Honda, Toyota, Chevy, Lexus, VW, and a few others , still adding more brands.

My intros are solid, but I think I’m losing viewers because my videos run long, usually around 30 minutes. That’s on par with a lot of car review channels, but my reviews are broken into a lot of segments:
Intro

Front grille

Engine/transmission

Side profile

Wheels

Rear/cargo/trunk

Interior and tech

Driver cockpit

Back seats

Test drive

Final take/outro

It takes hours to shoot, which I don’t mind, but the drop-off in views tells me something about the format isn’t working.

I don’t want to go the obvious route of strapping a GoPro to my head for one continuous take , everybody’s doing that.

I bring a wise-guy NY attitude to my videos already, and I want a format that matches that energy, keeps people engaged, is simple to shoot, and still hits what actual car buyers care about when they’re researching a purchase.

Gear-wise I’m limited: iPhone, one DJI Action 5, wireless mics (DJI Mic, Rode handheld, wireless lav). I’ve used the action cam to shoot two angles during test drives (one on me, one behind me facing the dash/window) and synced them for a two-cam edit. I know my way around editing.
Not trying to be MrBeast, just trying not to be boring. Any ideas on format would mean a lot.

Looking for help on choosing a format for my car review channel.

So I have a YouTube channel where I review cars I’ve built over the last year a network of dealerships who like how I handle their product and show respect and it’s allowed me access to BMW, Honda, Toyota, Chevy, Lexus, VW and a few more. I’m still building more brands.

The thing is I can make a really cool intro. But I feel people fall off maybe my videos are too long. Usually 30 minutes which is on par with many other YouTuber car reviewers but the meat of the review is segmented

Intro
Front grille
Engine transmission
Side profile
Wheels
Rear/cargo/trunk area
Interior and tech
Driver cock pit
Back seats
Test drive
Final take/outro

That takes hours to shoot which I don’t mind but I’ve noticed fall off times from views. I’d like to ask without going the default “let me strap a go pro to my head and do a single continuous take” so many do that

I’d like to be different I already bring a wise guy NY attitude to it, but I’m really having trouble thinking of a good format that keeps people engaged is simple to shoot and allows me to stay focused on what car buyers want to see when they’re researching the car

Any ideas or help would mean the world I’m limited in gear I use my iPhone and a single DJI action cam 5 which I can mount on the car near the wheels inside I’ve used it to shoot two cams of the test drive ( one of me one behind me facing the dash and the window ) and sync it so I can edit easily two angles. I have all wireless mics a DJI one a rode handled and wireless lav and I know how to edit decently so I’m just trying to figure out a format

Not trying to be Mr beast but I don’t wanna be boring
