Thoughts on Black Boxes? 🤔

Thoughts on Black Boxes? 🤔

Here’s my experience with one:

I get that it lowers premiums sometimes by a lot, this is how they catch you out.

It won’t take into account new road speed limit changes so will say you’re speeding, I drive a slow 1L car so require a bit more pushing of the accelerator to get moving, they grade the smoothness down for this. I’m a night shift worker sometimes and have to drive to and from work (literally 10mins away lol) and these shifts alone nearly led to them cancelling the insurance grading me as a ‘poor’ and
‘Risk of danger to self and others’.

I just had to get rid of it… it’s a scam!

Insurance isn’t too shabby after that first year… 👇

Compared to the first year this is brilliant.

Renewal does NOT have a black box policy like the first year either (with Admiral), so I’m very chuffed.

How can people who have cocked up get car insurance? 🤔

Was snooping around as my insurance is up for renewal so was looking at any potential better offers, then thought I’d make a quote with terrible details to see how much it can come to.

Convictions of death through driving etc etc the worst convictions possible with a fast car and most companies didn’t even offer a quote.

Raises the question how do people who have made mistakes in life ever get insurance? Who do they go to? Or do they HAVE to pay those prices to drive again? 🤔 If no company offers insurance are they just buggered at that point?

What was your first drive like on your own? 🤔

Here’s my story lol

I got a cheeky 1L VW Up! (Lovely car), and the first drive was eye opening.

I think it was more the fact that I learned in a powerful diesel car (not needing to really set gas or anything even on hills), moving to the underpowered petrol was very difficult at first as it has a weak bite and not as much shove from the engine.

I was like a kangaroo down the road as if I’ve never driven a manual car in my life.

Eventually got the hang of the clutch in the car as I practised in an empty car park figuring what I was doing wrong 🤣

What do you believe was before the ‘big bang’? 🤔

My questions for the experts here are:

How do they know it even happened if it was so long ago supposedly?

How can you not have something? I can’t imagine it being ‘nothing’

How can everything we know be caused from something from nothing? What was it?

UV is an eye opener… 👇

Thought I’d check the bathroom after I had finished cleaning...

My 395 saw nothing (tbh it was a very cheap one I found for a laugh it fluoresces minimally).

Eye protection necessary messing with a high wattage 365.

What’s the most bizarre thing you have ever witnessed at an airport? 🤔

Recently flew out to visit family abroad, and oh my god this had me in tears.

Neighbouring gate (gates were split by a glass panel) shut long ago and as we were all waiting a family of 5 (mum/dad 2 small kids, 1 baby in stroller) had loudly bolted towards the shut gate parents screaming “no no no! Money my money no open not close” stuff like that (don’t think they speak English as first language).

Gate staff said they shut and plane is about to taxi out.

Now what was started to make it amusing was that the dad got his rucksack off and began offering items (I remember seeing a sports bottle, a Pret sandwich, a bag of sweets and a phone charger cable 🤣) the woman then offered her neck pillow.

Gate staff refused obviously, now for the crazy part.

Dad and I kid you not, removed the baby from the pram rather quickly and held it out to the staff like simba in lion king. He eventually put it back and they stood on the phone before we commenced boarding.

Though I’d share the story 🤣.

If one more chesspiece was added, what would you pick and how would it move? 🤔

For me it would be a ‘Gladiator’ it would move the same as the king and replace the two far outside pawns on each side in front of the rook, 4 per board.

A value of 3-4.
