Idk if this is a hot take since I’ve seen ppl agreeing online, but everyone is so sensitive nowadays.

Basically anything like Down syndrome, blindness, deafness, severe genetic illness, etc.
I think our society would improve if we decreased the amount of babies being born with such traits because 1. It makes it hard for the parents, 2. It makes it hard for the kid. The financial costs the parents are required to pay would be higher than the average child, and especially if the parents have low income and can’t provide for their kid, that’s unfair to the kid only cuz the parents were being selfish.

I’ve read some news the Japan apparently found a way to get rid of the chromosome or smth causing down syndrome, and that seems fantastic! I would love for that to spread around the world. (Not that people currently having Down syndrome should be erased or whatever, I js support having less of babies having that genetic makeup in the future).

Edit: I’ve read comments, seen more posts and although I think my take was a little extreme and really badly said, I don’t see why we shouldn’t promote stability and quality of life for kids and the future generation. I stand by my opinion still🙈
will not edit OG post but I will say I don’t support government enforcement, eradication, etc. Bad parents/environment is the main reason I believe that this route should be used for certain situations.

This is some rando girl complaining about it, but I wanted to know more opinions since this is the first negative review I’ve seen of the anime. (Which I personally love)

This might sound really stupid but during tests or exams, classrooms are really silent. Do they escort you to a private room, or do you stay in your normal class? What about public silent spaces, do you feel awkward being there?
I’m going back to school soon and was getting more curious about this syndrome since I’ve never met anyone with Tourette’s before, and classrooms are always dead silent for me lol.

Since I’ve seen so many freshman posts, here’s my top advice:

-Take all the hard classes. Me personally I took AP lunch and AP PE where we had to write an essay abt nutrition and running the mile.
-Bark at all the upperclassmen. This prompts them to take you in and you’ll get all the advice from them.
-Growl at teachers who yell at you. This isn’t middle school anymore, you have to assert your dominance and stand up for yourself when they accuse you of using AI, talking during class, etc.
-Eat eggs and onions during the tests. Everyone brings a little snack but this is my recommendation.

So my school is pretty big w around 4000 ppl, so 1000 ppl per grade. I’ve pretty much given up on being near the top 10% lol. My unweighted is a 3.9 (aiming for a 4.0 this year) and it’s not like I want to get into ivys but I would like to get into a good school. I’m not completely sure what I went to do, but I’m leaning towards derm PA.

I was wondering what extracurriculars I should do, since the ones i already have are pretty basic. Violin, (I got into region every year but havent tried all state yet, I might this year) tutoring kids, DECA, planning to join HOSA, volunteer weekly, etc.
idk what else to do for academic extracurriculars besides writing articles or joining programs, since I’m not super into competitions. I like art so I was thinking of making an animation channel w information of real life news or events but that might just be lame lol. Idk what else to do! 😖

So basically me and this guy had a talking stage where he confessed to me (it was kinda sudden so I told him we should just talk even tho I liked him back) and it was going well until he lowkey ghosted me and I didn’t know why until he told me he didn’t rlly like me and it was kinda in the moment thing. I was shocked but kinda glad since I wasn’t ready to date but wanted to stay friends (tho it was incredibly awkward when I saw him irl sometimes) and I thought it’d be cool since I wasn’t mad, he accepted it but he unfollowed me on basically everything (no block) and I was the only one following him😭so one sided bro
anyway he has a gf now like 1 month after that whole incident so they’ve been together for like half a year ish? Perhaps he liked her more lol

so my friend for a few years is very nice to me, funny, and I’d say we’re pretty close. but whenever we have conversations abt random things they find a way to make it deeper and it’s not like a necessary hate deep conversations, but she’s so smart and talks like she read every research paper in the world that i feel dumb compared to her. her vocabulary is immaculate too😞
for example we were talking about female celebrities and then it turned to how some companies manipulate their image or how they present themselves in a misogynistic way, and while I understood I didn’t really understand I felt rlly bad since I’m a girl too and I felt like I should know these things. just some examples.
I rlllly love her but I hate sounding stupid to my dearest friends and we have a few classes together next year so I’ll do my best not to sound idiotic.

Hi! I’m 15F and i have 3 shares of APPL currently, and looking to expand more. I was wondering what reccs you guys have, as I’m currently eyeing SKHY but not sure as apparently it’s on the newer side. My parents both participate a lot but my mom isn’t familiar with SKHY, so I read some articles and thought it was worth a try. I have a few thousand in my bank account so I can afford more than a few shares for the cheaper options.

I’m soo soo glad I’m class of 29 cuz TX just passed a mandated Bible reading list starting 30-31’. They’re also teaching less of racial and ethnic problems you’d learn in 6th grade (world cultures) so that’s also a problem. I’m also an atheist, so I’d genuinely rather die than have required Bible readings without the inclusion of other religions. And some of my friends are Hindu and Buddhist!! How disrespectful towards them..this is why TX is in the 40s in education smh.

So for context I don’t have very good extracurriculars. I’m gonna be a sophomore in August, and I’m a little worried.

Violin region every year
DECA (didn’t get to state cuz I don’t rlly like business but my friend likes it so I might continue doing it cuz it is fun js I’m not good at it)

Now I want to be a dermatologist or somewhere in the medical field and I was interested in writing abt Asian skincare and health standards compared to America. I thought it would be helpful for pre med or med school to act upon my interests. It probably won’t be the most unique thing but it’s the first thing I actually want to write about. But honestly I’m not sure if articles are even a good start lol. I’m gonna take the SATs or PSATs and stuff this year and do more volunteering etc, but I just wanted to start on personal stuff with this. Do u think it would be alright, and if so do u have any publishing platform recs? Thank you!!

Even tho there are a lot of fair arguments, I personally would rather not be one. I mean, even if I’m dead, I still want to be buried in one piece lol. And “you can save a stranger’s life” I honestly would rather donate while alive to someone I know. And my body my choice.
