Slightly confused by character ages in S2

I'm starting watching it now but the characters don't quite line up with how I would've expected so I had to check.

My understanding from season 1 was that it went roughly Mai final year of high school, Sakuta and other high schoolers like Futaba 2nd year, Nodoka and the other idols 1st year, and then Kaede in the middle of middle school

Is that not correct? In season 2, which I thought was about 2 years later based on the fact that Kaede is preparing for high school and Sakuta is preparing for college in the movies, Mai is seemingly already out of college. And Nodoka and the others in her age are already in college, which would make everyone 1 year older than expected. Is there just an entire extra year skipped with no mention of it?

Is Contrary Serperior even really worth it?

I'm planning a new playthrough and was thinking I might give my self a HA starter, but after looking at the movepool, Serperior only gets 1 self-nerfing move for Contrary in Leaf Storm, and that's at level 62. Do npcs attempt stat drops often enough for the ability to be fun, or am I better off just using a normal Serperior since it gets some buffing moves like Coil?

Silly Goofy character: the lvl 1 Jack of All Magic

My most recent character for an IRL campaign is a travelling magician who does all kinds of tricks in exchange for information on places he could learn more magic. To represent this I gave him good dex and charisma for sleight of hand and persuasion, and as many spells as I could. This is what I ended up on

Gnome Race: Forest Gnome origin means I know one cantrip and one level 1 spell

Sage Background: the Magic Initiate feat gives me two cantrips and a lvl 1 wizard spell

Bard Class: the standard spellcasting for the class learns 2 cantrips and 4 level 1 spells

In total this level 1 character knows 11 spells, and 7 of them can be cast without use of a spellslot. With the high SoH I can also attempt to perform regular non-magic card tricks just in case I somehow run out of other options for a show.

Not sure if base 2024 rules can get any more variety than this. I checked but the two main sources of extra magic as far as I know are Wizard spellbook copies or Bard Magical Secrets, and Bard is a more interesting class to me.

Anywhere to get cards from specific sets other than just buying packs?

Sorry this is probably a silly question but I don't know much about the game. I just recently discovered this game through the Critical Role starter decks randomly being sold at a store. I've learned how to play now with friends who are big CR fans and we want to do more, but we aren't sure how to go about deckbuilding.

From what I've found there are 22 character cards from the set but only 6 have official premade decks on sale. Is the best way to play with the other 16 characters really just to buy packs and hope we get enough cards of the right colors or buy individual cards from third parties? That seems ridiculous when it's 60 cards for a deck and only 11 random cards per pack.

[Dungeons] Microsoft Login fail?

I just downloaded the game on Windows through Xbox gamepass. I got logged in to my account but then a white popup "this page is not normally shown" appears and the game doesn't actually load. I tried resetting it and every suggestion I could find online. What else can I try to get in?

Anyone know good figure stores in the Cincinnati and/or Indianapolis areas?

Trying to find somewhere that might have older like Prime Wars and WfC figures, I prefer to buy things in person, but my town doesn't have a big comic/toy store. I'm about halfway between these 2 big cities so I thought one or both might have a good store that I could visit next time I'm in the area.

Do Trial spawners still give full spawns if blocked off?

I want to base in a trial chamber in a smp I'm joining soon, but don't want to deal with having big blocked areas for each spawner. I know they use blocks with line of sight, so if I put blocks on 3/4 sides and leave the last one open will the spawner still generate the full amount of mobs on that one block? If so I can just put like a slab or whatever so I can still see the spawner to activate it and kill mobs right?

Is there a way to make a custom map path with multiple height levels?

I started this map ages ago, the intention was for it to work similar to the official map Quarry, with balloons starting on a lower level then going up above the cliffs. But I've never been able to figure out how to make the cliffs work for two reasons:

  1. The actual path is always ground level, so there has to be an opening to be able to see the bloons

  2. The level of the platforms is inconsistent, so sometimes the towers just disappear if placed somewhere wrong.

Am I missing something or are these two problems just unsolveable with the current mapmaking system?

Anyone know other good "Historical Fiction" romances?

Maybe not the best way to describe it, but I've been on a streak of really enjoying shows recently including Spice and Wolf, Apothecary Diaries, and Irina the Cosmonaut which are all more real-life history inspired and not the more common "modern regular guy in a generic fantasy world" or "teens in a high school". Tried Crunchyroll's genre filters and reccomendations of similar content but I'm having trouble finding things that are actually similar to these.

Slightly confused by the motivations in s2's last arc

(Spoilers) So they were trying to kill Jinshi and cause any pregnancies to fail because they hate the rear palace and Emperor. Sure.

But then what's the point of just suiciding in the end? From the mother's perspective, they had 2 spies, one of whom had not been found yet. They could've just kept trying until Shisui did get caught. Why sneak out to the stronghold and kidnap Maomao when that just guarentees their deaths? (Ignoring how it didn't in the end, they couldn't have predicted that at the time)

(Weird trope) Sudden supernatural elements in a story that avoided having any before

  1. The Ghost of Suite 613: a Halloween episode of Suite Life of Zack and Cody, where the cast meet an actual ghost at the end after hearing a story about it. This is a show about 2 kids who live in a hotel. Other than crossovers with other shows, there is no magic or anything outside of this and one episode of the sequel series.

  2. The Ghost Storyteller: in a random episode of Apothecary diaries, the main character gets invited to a night of ghost stories by a friend, hosted by a strange old woman. After a few stories, she realizes that the room has been filling with smoke, poisoning everyone, and rushes out. After she and her friend recover, they notice that the host has disappeared, and then after returning home they learn that their description closely matches a woman who had just recently died. This is not a magical show. Every potential curse or ghost or whatever else has been explained by normal things up until this point. Then there's seemingly a random real ghost.

Just had a hilarious thought recently about the world of XC2 post-story

Imagine how awkard it must have been for the Queen of Uraya to try to do *anything* resembling international peacekeeping after the party .

The Preator is dead and was a psychopath. Good luck dealing with the remaining Indoline people. Even if his replacement is good at the job, you have the Architect confirmed to be located and dead so it's chaos there I'd guess.

The driver of the Aegis, who saved the world, turns out to also be the rightful heir of the kingdom of Torna. Even if he wasn't directly descended from Addam himself, he marries the Aegis, and given that blades are considered basically normal humans eventually, Mythra would kind of be Addam's heir by default given that he awakened her and she is genetically based on him

Oh also both the Crown Prince of Tantal and Mor Ardain's Special Inquisitor trust Rex with their lives. So good luck convincing them or their rulers who are direct family to side with her on anything that he doesn't like.

Hey at least you have the recently un-colonized Gormott right? NOPE. Nia was the blade of a member of one of Gormott's noble families, and given that there are no known human descendants of her driver, is basically nobility by default and probably ends up being very important in Gormotti politics.

Now all they need is for XC 4 to reveal Tora's mom was actually the long lost heir of the Argentum Trade Guild or something and he's actually filthy rich after Bana's out.

Trying to find a specific shop plugin or at least something similar

I played on a server years ago that had a plugin pack that included a landclaim system, player progression skills, and some kind of shop plugin. It used a command to open up like an inventory menu and then you could buy and sell items directly with the server for in-game money and get things like spawners and other rare items.

I'm trying to recreate a similar thing for a singleplayer world, and I'm pretty sure I found the skills plugin they used, called Auraskills, but I have no idea what the name of the shop was. Anyone know one that would be at least 2 ish years old and might be it?

Is Martial Caster divide a thing in the game or is it more balanced?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, I looked for a FAQ list but didn't see any, and the rules don't say don't ask questions.

I'm about to play BG3 for the first time soon. I'm thinking I'll do a melee class since I'm playing a caster in an IRL 5.5e campaign right now, but I know there are npc party members in the game with various classes. I'm slightly worried it'll end up similar to real D&D where martials start to feel weak compared to magic in the mid to late game even if they're technically still useful. Is that the case here, or can a PC be made strong enough that the mage NPCs aren't going to outclass me?

Anyone know good episodic/"case-of-the-week" type mystery anime?

I recently started watching Apothecary Diaries under the mistaken belief it would be mainly about the MC solving medical cases. It does have some of that, but is more focused on the overarching romance and politics plots a lot of the time. I'm enjoying the show and will keep watching, but wondering if there's anything good that *does* fit what I thought I was going to be watching.

Anyone got recs for anime similar to the first few episodes of this?

So I'm at s1ep13, and while I am enjoying the show a lot, I kind of went into it thinking it was going to be a case-of-the week like, mystery/medical show, and it seems like it is more focused on the overarching plot of politics of the royal court at this point instead. Anyone know shows that *do* match the vibe of the first few episodes that I can watch along with this?
