youtube.comOkay so every time I bring up intelligence scaling or cognitive self-improvement online someone immediately tells me that I just have to accept myself and that I can't increase my IQ. I get it. There are a lot of people selling brain pills and making unrealistic promises about increasing IQ in just a few days and thats made people skeptical.. The people who dismiss this idea entirely are confusing two different things and thats a big problem.
* There's a difference between intelligence, which is like raw processing power and other types of intelligence.
The truth is that intelligence or the ability to reason through new problems can't really be increased. If someone is telling you that they can help you increase it they're either wrong or trying to sell you something.
Here's what is real:
* Crystallized intelligence
* Working memory capacity
* Processing speed
* Executive function
These things can actually be improved with practice. There's a framework called CORE that measures performance and people who practiced reasoning tasks and reduced stress in their daily lives showed real improvements over time. That's not the same as increasing IQ. Its just improving performance.
The thing that bothers me is that some people think that just living life will automatically make them smarter. I've met people in their 40s and 50s who still have emotional intelligence and social skills even though they've been through tough times. Experience doesn't automatically make you smarter. You have to think about what you're learning.
Me and a friend are working on a server to help others achieve improved levels of cognition, if this gets taken down for rule 10, gg, but consider what i say. we all have goals, and improving ourselves is along that path of reaching those goals, so why not do it together?and also if ur one of those ayanokoji kids who think its cool to manipulate people, i'd advise you not to waste ur time on joining as yes we do have morals. https://discord.gg/34fNUB8QWc
