Would I still get gringo taxed or taxed as much if I speak Portuguese?

I’ve recently been learning Brazilian Portuguese and I’ve always wanted to visit the country although I have heard online that foreigners often get charged more and I was wondering would speaking Portuguese make any difference?

How is my spoken Portuguese?

https://voca.ro/1hbyEwhaVcZb

The link attached is a short voice clip of me reading a small paragraph in Portuguese

I would like some feedback on my pronunciation and things I can improve

As pointed out to me in the comments it does appear to be using European Portuguese vocab and has some mistakes in it. I got ChatGPT to generate me the paragraph so I’d assume it just made a few mistakes and got confused between European and Brazilian

Why do quite a few Cuban Americans want the embargo on Cuba?

My parents are from Cuba and they left in the 2000s, but I grew up in Britain i’ve never really been into politics

But from my understanding, Cuban Americans want to keep the embargo because the Cuban state took their property or something like that

But I’m pretty sure that was nearly 60–70 years ago. I would assume most of these people are the ones that weren’t even affected by it unless they are actually ancient.

So what’s the reasoning for wanting to keep the embargo and keep these people suffering?

Would it be helpful/useful to go to Portugal if I’m trying to learn Brazilian Portuguese?

I live in the UK and I’ve been trying to learn Portuguese for awhile. I know a few things in it and now I kinda want to immerse myself in the language unfortunately going to Brazil is quite expensive from the UK, but Portugal is much closer and much cheaper and I was wondering, would it be beneficial for my Brazilian Portuguese if I go to Portugal?

I want to start playing football. What do I need? And how do I start?

You guys may have seen my post earlier today in which I talk about being invited to play in a little football tournament which is in a month and a bit, and I was wondering if I could get to ok enough with practically zero prior football experience

I realise this goal may be practically impossible or really unachievable, but either way I still want to play football/learn aside from this event. I’m 17 and from what I understand is a relatively late age to start playing football

Other than obviously having to buy a football, what else do I need if anything else? Do I need football shoes or would playing in regular shoes be fine eg Jordan 1s, Nike shox

And the harder question for me is how do I actually learn the rules and and basics and get started, keep in mind I know practically nothing about this sport
I don’t know what any of the positions do except goalie, so any suggestions on how I can learn the rules and basics and the role of the positions would be quite helpful for me.

Some other info that I think could be useful is I’m currently 5ft 8, 66.5kg, go gym 6x a week although I don’t do or train cardio

And I’m pretty sure last time I checked (which was a while ago) I could run 100m in about 12.8-14seconds

Is it possible to get to an ok level in football in a month from scratch?

I've been wanting to get into football, but l've never really played it. I don't know the rules or what the positions really do or anything.

I'm currently 17 so I'm still somewhat young athletic and I think I found my motivation to start playing football

One of my friends has invited me to compete in this little local football tournament to play for the Latin American team. It's like a cultural event. I originally said no as I didn't want to ruin the team's chance of winning as I'm quite bad at football and these other people have probably been playing for years, but I've been thinking about it and I might change my mind

The event is on the 27th of June do you guys think it's possible to get to a state where I'm good enough at football to somewhat ok/decent or even know the basics by this date? I don't have to be professional or anything high-level as it's just an event for fun.

Another reason why I also kind of declined was because I don't really know most of the people on the team so I would feel worse I did bad compared to if I was playing with friends on a team

Also, when I say “ok” in the title, I don’t really mean ok I just mean to a point where I won’t totally be incompetent and will at least know the rules, positions and maybe even a slither of a chance to keep up

Shows which have the same subtitles as the audio? Or good Brazilian shows

I’ve been trying to watch shows, and I’ve been watching Brazilian Portuguese dub with Portuguese subtitles and I’ve noticed the subtitles are often different than the dub and it throws me off a bit

So I’m wondering if you guys could recommend shows which have subtitles that are the same as the dub and preferably comedy shows

I assume this issue is because I’m watching American shows dubbed into Portuguese and the people that do the dub and subtitles are different teams, also any Brazilian shows recommendation would also be
Appreciated

Bonus points if it’s on UK Netflix

The deadline is tomorrow and I still haven't decided I plan to study software development at Edinburgh Napier or computer science at the University of Aberdeen

The pros for Aberdeen is that a ranks quite a bit higher and it is a more respected university than
Edinburgh Napier

The cons though is that it's quite far from me so l'd have to move, and icl when I visited the city to look at the university it seemed a bit boring

The pros for Edinburgh Napier is that it is close to me as I live in Edinburgh, I won't have to relocate, I already know people in Edinburgh, and there's more stuff to do in the city

The cons though is that it ranks lower than Aberdeen and isn't that well respected and it is a modern university only being built in the 90s

I was wondering if you guys could give me some suggestions on how I can make a decision on which one to choose or if you guys were stuck between two universities how did you end up deciding? And how important is the university go to for jobs in this industry?

And if so, what version of ryubing is it using? And is it possible to replace the app image, as I suspect if they are, they probably aren’t using the Canary version and that’s the version I’d like to use

I’ve just tried setting up Eden using Emudeck but when I try launch it, it just crashes on launch it won’t even open the application

When I press play, play changes to launching but then just changes back to play without opening any application or anything

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Posted some photos of me wearing suits to another bread subreddit and everyone was telling me I should get a haircut and I was wondering what haircut recommendations do you guys have?

Want something that would look good wearing a suit and that can be done with my length of hair, my prom is in early June

My current routine is wash my hair every day with shampoo and conditioner or every other day and then I normally use a clay in my hair
