If I buy Eifel Tower lift tickets now can I exchange them for stair tickets on the day?

Hey guys,

I forgot to book my eifel tower tickets (wanting to go on the morning of either the 13th, 14th, or 15th) and now the stair tickets are sold out. I'd really prefer to do the stairs as it seems like a way cooler experience.

If I book the lift ticket, could I exchange them for stair tickets on the day? I really don't want to take the risk of booking nothing and trying to purchase tickets on the day.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a good tour company that actually buys tickets in advance? I was thinking of paying a bit more and getting stair tickets through Get Yiur Guide, but head thst they buy their tickets on site which would obviously defeat the purpose as I could do that myself.

Edit: Is it possible to take the lift to the summit from the second floor if you climbed the stairs as long as you have a ticket to both?

Are aerosols allowed in checked baggage or not (conflicting info on website and check in declaration)

Hey guys,

Just did an early check in for my flight and when went to pint the hoarding pass I got a pop up saying aerosols aren't allowed in check baggage (see screenshot), but on the Singapore Airlines website it says aerosols are fine as long as they don't exceed 500ml and aren't radioactive:

Can anyone recommend a good esim the provides a UK phone number, reliable European roaming, a decent amount of data, and most importantly - the ability to be activated outside the UK?

Hey guys,

Heading to the UK from Australia for work, and I'm doing a bit of travel in Europe (France, Belgium, Netherlands) on the way over.

I'd like a UK number because that's where I'll be spending the majority of my time, but I need something that can be activated in Europe as that's where I'll be staying first.

Most of the option I've found are either data only, or have to be activated within the UK.

I have considerd just getting a shorter term European sim for the first leg of the trip, but I think it'd be more cost effective and less hassle to just get one sim for both regions.

Anyone used the O2 Europe Travel Plus esim from esim.net recently?

Hey guys,

I'm from Australia and will be starting a job (6 week contract) in the UK later this month, and I plan on doing a couple of weeks of travel in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands on my way.

I'm looking for an eSIM with a UK number that I can activate in Europe and this seems like a good option. Most other sims I've looked at don't allow you to activate outside the UK, or they're data only (I really need a number).

esims.net has good reviews on Trust Pilot, but searching through old Reddit threads I've seen mixed thnigs about their O2 sim. Those posts were from a while ago though so I'm posting again to see if things have changed.

Does anyone have recent experience using this sim in the countries I mentioned?

Transparent version of the stock World clock widget?

Hey guys,

I want my lock screen to display the time in a different timezone in simple white text with no background.

The stock small world clock widget is almost exactly what I want but the text is inside a grey circle, and there don't seem to be any customisation options.

Can anyone recommend a transparent alternative?

Text messages got messed up when I transfered them from my old Android phone to my new iPhone. Please help!

Hey guys,

I've just got a new iPhone and am having so much trouble transferring my chat history over.

I used the Move to Ios app, and all my texts are there but the threads are a complete mess. Multiple one on one texts have been made into group chats with my own number, sometimes in multiple groups. For example, I now have 3 threads with my mum:

Mum and me

Mum, me, and me

Mum, me, me, and a completely unrelated work colleague

There's also another thread where the outgoing and incoming messages have all been doubled. Eg:

Me: hi Me: hi

Resoonder: hello Responder: hello

I don't understand why this is happening. I don't have multiple phones numbers, the duplicates of myself in these groups aren't even showing my number formatted differently (eg local number + number with international prefix), my number is the same every time, and it matches the one on my contact card.

I have done two fresh installs and wasted so many hours on this. It's beyond frustrating. Please help!

Firemen's Balls with a more low key vibe?

Can anyone recommend a good Firemen's Ball that's a bit more low key? I read online that some of them have a more family friendly vibe earlier on in the evening with food trucks, activities, rescue demonstrations, live music etc... I don't have a family to worry about (34 year old solo traveler here) but I absolutely loathe clubbing and EDM music.

When I first read about these events I got super excited, was so disappointed when I looked up videos and saw that they're basically pop up night clubs.

Would still like to check out this tradition if there's a slightly more chilled out option though.

Apps not automatically downloading after transfer (iPhone 17)

Hey guys,

Just setting up my new phone and transferred over a bunch of apps from my old one.

All of the apps have populated in my app library but they all have that little cloud/download icon next to them. When I try to open them it says 'to use this app you need to download it from the play store'.

Obviously doing this manually for every single app would be a huge pain in the ass.

The annoying thing is, I know they *should* download automatically because I ran the same set up process lastnight, and all the apps downloaded on their own. But my RCS messages didn't get transferred properly so I had to factory reset and start again.

I don't understand why they're not downlaoding this time. I tried signing in and out of my apple account, and media and transfers. I also tried toggling the WiFi on and off, and made sure the automatic download were enabled in the app store settings.

How can I get this to work?

Trying to transfer from Google Photos: 'There is already a request in progress for that Apple Account.'

Hey guys,

I'm trying to transfer all my photos from Google Photos to iCloud using Google Takeout. I have two Google accounts I want to transfer from. I just compelted the first one (recived email confirmation that the transfer had been completey processed.)

However, when I try to transfer from the other account, I am getting the error 'There is already a request in progress for that Apple Account.'.

The request should no longer be in progress though as I have already recived confirmation that it's complete. Is there any way around this?

Remington Lady Shaver vs Phillips One Blade Pro - which is better for shaving legs and armpits?

Hey everyone,

My Remington Lady Shaver just died and I'm trying to decide whether to replace it or get something different.

I've been pretty happy with the Remington, but I've heard a lot of women recommend using a men's razor like the One Blade. I already use a men's beard trimmer for my pubic hair so having a trimmer and shaver in one would be great for travel.

Will the One Blade give as close a shave as the Remington Lady Shaver?

Is the iPhone version of swiftkey the same as the iPad version?

Edit: I don't understand why people are downvoting a genuine question?

Hey guys,

I'm considering switching to iPhone after being an Android user for nearly 18 years. The only thing holding me back is the keyboard. I tried out the keyboard on a display iPhone 17 in store and found the stock keyboard to be just as bad as people online say it is. I'm a sloppy typer and rely quite heavily on autocorrect, and the iPhone I tried wasn't correcting any of my common mistakes like Gboard does on my S23.

Opinions on third party keyboard for iOS seem to be divided. Some people say they're a game changer, others say they're crippled by Apple to be nothing more than a glorified reskin.

Unfortunately I was unable to install any third party apps on the display model to test them out myself. However, I own an iPad which I use pretty much exclusively for drawing. Almost no typing so the keyboard hasn't bothered me.

I just downloaded Gboard, SwiftKey, and Grammarly on my ipad. I tested the three keyboards with purposley mispelled words, and compared the results to the stock iPad keyboard, and Gboard on my S23.

To my surprise, the third party keyboards were miles better than the stock iOS keyboard, picking up on almost every mistake my Android keyboard did.

I know iPhones and iPads both run iOS, but given that they're different versions, I just wanted to make sure there aren't any major discrepancies in how third party keyboards behave between them.

TLDR: If I buy an iPhone 17, can I expect the third party keyboards like SwiftKey to work the same way that they do on my iPad Air (iPad iOS version 18.5)?

What's the most reliable extended weather forecast site for Paris?

Hey guys,

I've got a Paris tripped booked between the 10th and 15th of July, and on 14 day forecasts I'm seeing temperatures anywhere from 27 (totally fine) to 37 (kill me now). Knowing that extended forecasts are never completely reliable, what site is going to give me the most accurate picture of what to expect?

Torrentio and Premiumize not working for me?

Hey guys,

I just set up a Premiumize account and am trying to get it set up with Nuvio. I configured Torrentio with my Premiumize API key, and then added the install link to the addons list in Nuvio.

However, when I open Movies and shows the Nuvio player, no links show up. What could I be doing wrong?

EDIT: Figured it out. I was expecting it to behave like Stremio and show a list of links after opening a movie/show, I didn't realise you have to hit the play button to open the list of files. Maybe I'm an idiot but I found this a bit counterintuitive as the play button doesn't actually commence playback, but opens the list of files.

I also think there was an element of it taking time for the addons to register, I think I hit the play button pretty early on and it just opened a trailer, but when I hit it again later it opened the list of links.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the replies, I appreciate your attempts to help. Hopefully this silly posts helps out someone else in the future.

Need help printing image to exact size on paper with the wrong dimensions

I've got a template with key labels for a programmable keyboard that I need to print.

The labels need to be printed at precisely the right size to fit on the key caps.

The instructions say to print on 11" x 17" paper, but as this isn't a standard sizs in Australia, I don't have the means to print at this size.

The closest I can get is A3 (11.69 x 16.54) but I'm worried that if I print the pdf at that size it will scale weirdly and won't fit the keys.

What adjustments do I need to make to the document to account for the different paper dimmensions?

Thinking of switching from Android to iPhone but worried about the keyboard. Are gboard and SwiftKey useable?

Hey guys,

I've been a loyal Android user since the original Samsung Galaxy S back in 2009. Never used an iPhone before but I'm thinking of turning to the dark side and upgrading my S23 to an iPhone17. I had to buy a MacBook for work recently and I'm surprised by how much I like it despite being a lifelong Windows user.

I've heard the keyboard is awful though. I do a lot of typing on my phone, probably more than the average person. I've been using gboard for years and love it. I've tried SwiftKey and didn't like it as much because of the prediction being a bit stricter, but admittedly I haven't played with the settings much or used it long enough for it to learn my typing style. I'm sure it's a good keyboard once you get settled into it.

Do the third party keyboards make the iphone's keyboard more useseable? I've heard mixed things. Some people say installing swiftkey or gboard solves ios's keyboard problem, others say the third party boards are buggy on ios and don't work as well.
