For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, New York City's population is falling again. After recording +163,000 growth in 2024 amid intense international migration, the city's population fell -12,000 in 2025 amid tightened border restrictions. ~0.5% of NYC's population died from COVID in 2020.

InHome time slots not showing up
I have Walmart+ and a 30-day InHome trial. My address shows as InHome-eligible, and I’ve selected a Supercenter that offers InHome delivery. However, I only see the standard 2-hour delivery slots fulfilled by Spark drivers and never see the 4-hour InHome delivery windows.
How can I get the InHome delivery slots to appear? I’ve already contacted customer service multiple times, but they haven’t been able to help.
Couldn't process refund due to mismatch
My refund is on hold because “we couldn’t process your refund because the name and Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) on my tax return don’t match your records.”
I called the number provided, and the representative asked me to fax some information about three weeks ago. I did, but the status still hasn’t changed. Now, whenever I try calling again, I can’t seem to reach a human at all because the line disconnects due to high call volume.
What am I even supposed to do? I have a full-time job, so I can’t spend all day on the phone trying to speak with someone. I’m also not confident that simply waiting will solve the issue, because the representative I spoke with three weeks ago didn’t seem very confident either. Their solution was basically, “Send a fax saying your name is XYZ to number 123.” That was it, they didn’t ask for proof of identity or anything.
What are my options?
For context: There is a mismatch, because I used my legal name on the tax return but my legal name is truncated on the SS card because it's too long. I paper filled because im a non resident alien and the software I used did not allow me to e file. There are also no account transcript for 2025 on irs.gov, only wage statements.

Hi, my legal name is Alpha Bravo Charlie Charlie Delta (yes, I have two “Charlies” in my name). Since it is a long name, it was abbreviated as “Alpha Bravo C Charlie Delta” on my Social Security card. However, I used my full legal name on my tax return instead of the abbreviated version shown on the SSN card.
Because of this, my IRS refund status says: “We couldn’t process your refund because your name and Social Security number (SSN) or individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN) on your tax return don’t match our records. This could happen if you filed your return using a different or misspelled name.”
I was given a phone number to call, along with a 3-digit extension number and a 4-digit reference number. On my fifth call, I was finally allowed to stay on hold to speak with a representative; all the previous calls were automatically disconnected because of high call volume.
After waiting for 45 minutes, I spoke to a representative who made me go through the verification process all over again. After three separate 7+ minute holds, they gave me a fax number and asked me to send a letter explaining that my name appears differently on my tax return and SSN card. They did not ask for proof or any additional documents, which seemed strange to me. However, I sent the letter anyway, along with extra information such as my SSN, filing status, and refund amount. I also attached copies of my state ID (showing my legal name) and my SSN card.
I did this four days ago. How long should I expect to wait before the status changes? Was the representative even correct? If all I had to do was fax a letter, why couldn’t the IRS status page simply instruct me to do that instead of requiring me to go through their already overloaded phone lines and spend more than an hour on this?
PS: I paper filled because the software I use (Sprintax) did not let me e-file. I an a NRA and thus cannot use most of the free and paid tax filing software available since they don't support -NR forms
TL;DR: The name on my tax return (and my legal name) is “Alpha Bravo Charlie Charlie Delta,” while the name on my SSN card is abbreviated as “Alpha Bravo C Charlie Delta.” To resolve this mismatch, do I just need to fax the IRS a letter explaining the issue? When can I expect to hear back?

Hi, my legal name is:
First name: Alpha Bravo Charlie
Last name: Charlie Delta
I don’t have a middle name. Yes, I have two “Charlie”s in my name, and my first name has three words while my last name has two words.
I submitted Form 3575 in person at the post office (because the online form wouldn't allow spaces). I took a photo of it before handing it over and verified it again. The first name field (5b) is filled as “Alpha Bravo Charlie,” and the last name field (5a) is filled as “Charlie Delta.”
However, I received the validation letter at my current/old address with the name printed as “Alpha Bravo Charlie Delta Ch” (where “Ch” appears to be the first two letters of “Charlie,” likely truncated). It is supposed to be "Alpha Bravo Charlie Charlie Delta"
My name gets truncated in many systems, so I assumed that part was normal, but the ordering is incorrect. What should I do in this case? Will my mail still be forwarded since the names are similar?
