Kitbashed International Haverster USAF Fuel Tanker.

Along with the 1/32 scale Trumpeter F100 I've been working on, client is also tasking me with building a rare International Haverster USAF Fuel Tanker from 1959. A rarity indeed since there's a total of 2 photos to go off on. The biggest challenge was getting the Sinclair Fuel Tanker chassis with a Tamiya WWII smaller cab. Had trouble trying to figure out where I would create the strongest bonds so it held together. Fortunately, I was able to create a way to fit it in by cutting away at some of the chassis front end. Slipped right in after. There's still a bit more to go on the tanker along with the crew. However what do you all think? Wish he had sent more smaller numbers so we could finish the serial numbers on one of the tankers sides.

My 1st Diorama HG MS-06R Zaku II Sniping in a Destroyed Building

Haven't posted any new Gundams in a bit, so I decided to post what got me started in this hobby. Built this during COVID and had the idea of creating something gritty and more realistic. Taking a regular Zaku and turning it into a camouflaged war machine seemed about right. Currently, he sits @ Lunar Toy Store display in Queens. But this dio is what got my start on Fiverr as a full-time commission artist.

Last update before final photo

Been posting last couple days in regards to the 1/32 Scale F100 Super Sabre and just like the title states, were nearing the finish line. Waiting on the flight crew to get here, before taking final photos and posting it here. The body was painted with a Tamiya Flat Aluminum and accents painted with Ammo Metals Steel paint. Undercarriage was painted with Tamiya Nato Green, and Photo etched " Remove before flight tags"

Trumpeter 1/32 F100 Super Sabre update

Hi everyone. Here's a look at the recently placed decals still fresh. They're going to get some weathering today to blend them in a bit. These decals are supposed to represent a unit my client served with back in the 50s however due to lack of references, it's been a challenge to get the colors and squadron numbers confirmed. Still she's a beautiful fighter, I'm truly enjoying this build.

[Please Help] Need honest pricing feed back for new Maker Space Studio in Brooklyn.

Hi everyone! So the Maker Space/Gunpla Studio is 98% stocked, and our pilot program finally launches tomorrow. I'm waiting on the spray booth and a few minor things; I need everyone's help. Im stuck on what to price the hourly at. Currently it's @ $17 per hour, $30 for 3 hours, or $100 for 4 x 3-hour sessions. Im looking for some realistic numbers from modelers. Open to any serious suggestions. Is $17 too expensive for an hour? Based in Brooklyn, so please consider the space available in our lovely city.

Our first Gunpla/Plamo/Minatures Makerspace is almost ready to launch

So here's a quick update for everyone curious. The bookshelf and airbrushing desk are ready to go and semi-stocked. A full-sized photo booth is set up. Locking safe setup for flammable protection. The compressor just came in today, the Viggo Starr airbrush booth is in the mail, and more tables, paints, and tools are to come. Progress is slow, but we'll get there. Can't wait for the kits to come in. Next on the list is to hit up schools from 4th grade to 8th grade to offer after-school building programs where kids learn on entry-grade kits, then move up to HG. The best part this will be accessible to any modeler in NYC who wants to either learn the craft or catch up on backlogs.

[Help] What age did you start building with your child? Creating a class

Hi everyone, I've been a scale modeler now for 7 years, and Im opening up a scale modeling makerspace. Reaching out because I'd like to create a class to add to my workshops that will let parents and children come to our new studios in NYC to build and paint with our tools. I'm currently stuck on pricing and which kit to provide. At first, I thought of providing two kits; however, I'm betting from my own experience that it'll take longer to build two kits than one in a short time.

Anyways heres my question: What would be a good price point from the community standpoint to charge a parent and their child for two seats? This would include 1x HG Gundam and, of course, tools and studio time (2-3hrs)? Lastly, what's the age range you all started building with your kids? Im trying to have a min age, and mine started building with me around 13.

In NYC, and honestly, I'm sick of relying on AI. Need real modelers and real thoughts. Thank you in advance, everyone.

NYC’s first scale modeling maker space is officially opening next month. ⚙️🏙️

After months of hard work, we are finally 30 days away from opening the doors to Brooklyn Buildz—a boutique, high-tech studio right across from Bush Terminal in Sunset Park.

Whether you’re a parent trying to screen swap for real-world engineering or a builder tired of airbrushing in a cramped NYC apartment, this lab was built for you.

We feature a strict 8-Bench Rule per session for true 1-on-1 coaching, premium studio-grade tool libraries, and professional detailing stations.

Grand Opening: June 12 & 13 via ClassBento

To help us stock the stations with top-tier gear, our Kickstarter campaign just went live. We are keeping the early-bird registration links hidden from the public algorithms this week to give our core community first dibs on the benches.

Want to check out the studio layout and secure a founding bench before they sell out?

Comment "BUILD" below, and I’ll DM you the private pre-launch link instantly!

Need recommendations for a airbrush splitter that will handle two airbrushes simultaneously.

Hi all! Kev here and need your help. I'm opening up NYC's 1st scale modeling makerspace in Brooklyn, and I'm having issues finding a suitable quality splitter that will be connected to a 1-gal California Silent Air Compressor that will handle two airbrushes, possibly being used at the same time. Would also need to know if there's a connection while the two lines are split that allow the users to adjust individual psi to their airbrushes. I'll be connecting DSPIEA no wash airbrushes for kids and GSI pro model airbrushes for the adults.

This would be used in a business environment so I need quality suggestions that are going to last. I would love your recommendations, please!

Swapping iPads for scale models at our community based studio in Sunset Park

Happy Tuesday, everyone,

So like many parents (and let's be honest, adults too), I’ve been actively fighting against relentless screen time. Back in 2020, my son and I swapped the iPads for plastic model kits armed with a manual, precision nippers, and loose parts.

Watching a kid go from initial boredom to 3 hours of uninterrupted, absolute focus was wild. No notifications, no algorithms. Just the satisfaction of building a 3D masterpiece with his own hands (check out the picture of what he finished!).It completely changed how we connect, and it turned into a massive mission.

Next month, we are moving out of the apartment and officially opening up a boutique, 8-bench scale modeling, and STEAM lab right across from Bush Terminal in Sunset Park. Called **Brooklyn Buildz**.

I want to make sure we are building exactly what the local community actually wants for after-school, weekend, and summer programs.

I'd love to hear from the community:

Our Grand Opening is locked for June 12th & 13th, and we are running a 30-day Kickstarter starting next week to fund the pro-grade ventilation and workspace tools for the 8 stations.

If you want to see our layout, grab a private pre-launch link, or just talk shop about local summer programs, drop your thoughts below! I'll be hanging out in the comments to answer questions.

I'd love to hear from the community:

  1. If you're a parent, what kind of hands-on, tactile activities have actually successfully pulled your kids away from screens?
  2. If you're a hobbyist/builder, what are the biggest roadblocks you face trying to build in a cramped NYC apartment? (Fumes? Space? Noise?)
