Does anyone else associate New England with cooking spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin spice, allspice, molasses, etc. ? Or is it just me?

For some reason I have always associated these cooking ingredients with New England. Someone suggested to me once that I am subconsciously associating these items with New England because New England is famous for Fall and these cooking items are also associated with Fall. But I also understand that Connecticut residents are called "Nutmeggers"? Some of my ancestors were from New England so maybe it's a heritage thing lol

Is America actually dependent on Canada for potash? Could that be used against America in the trade war?

Apparently the US imports around 90% of its potash from Canada because it lacks the domestic reserves to meet demand. Could Canada actually cut off our potash imports? Would that be a reason for war? Can Canada be replaced?
