I was just thinking about how many people are descended from Colonial American settlers

As a Canadian I never thought that I had any connection to the USA. It wasn't until I started doing genealogy that I realized how many white and black Canadians have ancestors from the USA (loyalists, pre-loyalists, freed slaves, etc.) I was reflecting this past July 4th about how many of my own ancestors immigrated to Canada after living in America. Most were from New England and the northeast. Before genealogy I would never have known I had roots in America. I have been able to visit some of the states where they lived. It's crazy to think about how connected we all are. 🇨🇦 🇺🇸

Is it morally wrong to think that the world is a better place because of the British empire?

I know colonialism is a hot button word. But in my opinion they brought culture, commerce, economic opportunities, and modern inventions to poor nations. Not to excuse everything they did, but the world in my opinion is better off because of it.

Does anyone else find Baxters coffee cream is tasting "off"?

Somehow less creamy. It leaves a strange film at the top of my mug. I switched back to Northumberland and noticed a big improvement

Does anyone else get frustrated by the absolute garbage quality of microfilming that use to take place?

So many reels of microfilm that are barely legible and completely blurry. Its not the shape of the documents, it was how it was microfilmed. I zoom in and try to make it easier to read. Often times it can't get any clearer. Oh and it turns out the archive threw out the originals too 😵‍💫
