Lavoro in un negozio di videogiochi, a quanto pare un paio di giorni fa è venuto un signore a dare dentro la sua PS2 slim con giochi, 1 dualshock 2 originale e uno 3rd party, però non le ritiriamo più quindi il signore a quanto pare ha deciso di lasciare tutto in negozio ed andarsene.

Oggi la mia collega mi racconta sta cosa e mi chiede se me la voglio portare a casa perchè altrimenti la buttano via (pazzi), ovviamente come farebbe qualsiasi persona sana di mente me la sono ficcata nello zaino immediatamente e portata a casa.

Ho passato un oretta a dargli una bella ripulita soprattutto ai controller lerci e schifosi, la console sorprendentemente gira piuttosto bene però si surriscalda, però qua fa già caldo di suo quindi credo sia normale insomma.
Lo ho aperto (senza manomettere il sigillo di garanzia ancora intatto ovviamente) e dentro è molto pulito, per sicurezza cambierò la ventola e i pad termali

Been working at a famous videogame retail for three weeks now, apparently when i was off work a couple of days ago a man came to turn in his PS2 Slim and some games but we couldn't do anything so he just decided to leave the stuff there.

Two days later, today, my coworker asks if i want a ps2 because otherwise they'd just throw it away (why the hell would they even do that), i obviously snatched it asap threw everything in my bag.
It's amazing, gave it some deep cleaning, it runs pretty good, it overheats but here in europe is really hot, i opened it up and it's surprisingly clean inside, i'll just replace the thermal pads and the fan to be sure.

I can clearly see from the sides when it's enabled normally, when I turn on Maximum privacy protection the blacks get raised a lot it looks very bad and can still see most of the screen from the sides

Hi, i'm 20 and i had my first PSP when i was 3, then i got myself a PS3 when i was 5 and a pretty good desktop PC, while growing up i played on both PC and Playstation (then PS4 and then PS5).

I always wanted to get a nintendo console while growing up, seeing my cousin play on it was pretty cool and it looked fun however i never got it, and of course in 2017 i really wanted a Switch but never got that neither.

So basically i grew up with Playstation Exclusives, Monster Hunter, Call Of Duty, all sort of PC games, steam exclusives i always loved narrative heavy mature games and never felt interest in family party or platformers or "Nintendo" or TOO japanese games in general.

I will just leave my google sheets backlog that helps me keep track of my games here which has ratings as well if anyone really wants to know my general taste.

So, in 2023 i had a dream, i bought myself a Nintendo Switch and i was really really happy... i woke up and it was just a dream, so i said to myself, i'm gonna get myself a switch for real this time, i went to my PC made some researches and ended up getting a Steam Deck instead, which i love, i even ended up selling it to upgrade to the OLED model later on and i still regurarly use it.

However few days ago i had the same dream, the stupid nintendo switch (2 this time) that made me happy, i woke up and tought about it, realistically it's a bad purchase for me, let me explain.
Right now i have a really good desktop setup where i play mostly, i value graphical aspects and immersion (rtx4080 - i9-13900k - 32gb ddr5 - 32'' 4K W-OLED 240hz HDR monitor - Great audio system, Great peripherals and a PS5 for exclusives) AND i got a Steam Deck OLED aswell to play on the go the same games that i bought on my PC with cloud saving so it's seamless.
(I even got myself a Nintendo 3DS a year ago to play MH3U and to fullfill that little dream i had when i was little but after like 40 hours of Monster Hunter i still haven't touched it again)

Now, Switch 2 is expensive and nintendo is the worst most anti consumer videogame company out there, i really dislike them as a company and their games are never on sale and are expensive as fuck, and i'm not sure if i'm even compatible with their games because no way i'm gonna play most of the third party games on the Switch 2 instead of on my Steam Deck or Desktop (buying it only once), i'm taking about exclusives:
I played BOTW on my PC in some way, get me, after i think 50 hours i just quit it because i really have low patience with open worlds, it was really creative and all but it's just a sandbox playground which i'm not a fan of.
I tried Super Mario Odyssey which i actually liked, great gameplay, very creative and unique and most importantly very fun even if i'm not a fan or platformers.
I also tried Super Mario Wonder which i hated, idk, didn't click for me.

Now, no other games come to my mind right now but i'm really curious about The Duskbloods being a big fan of FromSoftware (Miyazaki), however i've been refusing to pay online subscriptions in console for years and that's a multiplayer game so i'm gonna need a subscription for that :/ .

I'm really curious about the detachable joycons, they look interesting to use, also it's way smaller and lighter than a steam deck so it's more portable, it looks nice, LCD display is a bummer but reviews say it's a good LCD.

So.. what should i do? Should i go for it and fullfill that dream knowing that i'm not gonna end up using it much or at all most probably or just try to forget about it because it's a really stupid decision?

Started playing GTAO in 2013 on my PS3 until 2017 or so and i have very fond memories about stunt races, fun modes, rpg vs insurgents, parkour modes, was basically doing only those at the time.
I recently restarted playing GTAO and i received only a couple of invites to such modes which lobbies that don't even get filled.

Why did these fun modes got so unpopular?

i randomly get kicked out of the match right at the start AND IT WON'T LET ME RECONNECT and get the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quit ban for no reason.
I tried reinstalling, file integrity, this is classic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vibecoded game

How do i fix this

I never used gyro before on my steam deck (i feel it's pretty bad in general and uncomfortable), just got my steam controller so i tought about trying it out, i tried it on Hitman, set it so that when i hold down L2 to aim the gyro to stick activates so i can maybe use it to make fine adjustements when shooting at a distance.

First of all i got my deadzone completely disabled, i tweaked all the sliders and options i tried doing anything that came to my mind but this is just so ass, the gyro is stuttery, i can't even make fine adjustements, i rotate the controller slowly and sometimes it inputs something and sometimes it doesn't, it's impossible to use it to make small fine movements so i just don't get the point of this feature.
It's the same thing on my steam deck

My steam controller arrives monday and i've been wondering how comfortable is to claw grip with it.
I'm still unsure about the ergonomics!

I know about back buttons but i still prefer claw gripping! Even on the steam deck whenever i'm playing Souls i claw grip, i use back buttons for menus and items

Edit: can't believe how many people are straight up just shocked at this and getting mad because I like to claw grip... Crazy subreddit

Considering getting this controller just for back buttons and maybe the grip sense.
Did anyone happened to set it up and use it seamlessly while playing games?

Been playing Epoch all day, had to download BOTH epoch and ascension which i later deleted manually, just now i accidentally clicked on the launcher's store and was brought back to the ascension page and there is NO way to go back to the Epoch page unless i download their shitty ass ascension wow
