ELI5 what really is space time?

It seems like it's simple but I was watching a veritaserum video and it occurred to me, I really don't understand it. What does it mean when it curves?

Mother fucker it is 4.65 per gallon for 87 unleaded

I mean I'm not going to say that Southeastern PA is either the cheapest or most expensive gas out there but this sucks. I knew prices would go up for summer but are we winning or what?

without a doubt favorite line is from Season 6 , episode 2

"I intimidate him ..... sexually"

i mean there are a lot of other moments, but the way that line cuts the tension and sets the tone is awesome. what's yours?

In season 6 , episode 2 shitty parent of the award year goes to

Marco Inaros. because apparently killing a whole bunch of people is acceptable, but assaulting one of your fellow crew mates because of your PTSD and massive guilt makes you a fuckup

Seriously, if the president can control spending, what the fuck is the point of congress

This issue goes far beyond partisan politics. The Constitution gives Congress — not the executive branch — the power of the purse. Yet once again, Congress appears willing to stand aside while enormous sums of money are assembled and potentially distributed through a politically charged process with little meaningful oversight or direct congressional approval. If the executive branch can establish billion-dollar compensation mechanisms that may benefit political allies or ideological supporters, then what is the practical purpose of Congress’s spending authority at all?

In Season 5 episode 9 there is a really crucial conversation where...

Camina and her lover/partner talk about what happened with Naomi. And she says do you love us as much as you love her? And what I want to say to her is hey, if I treat Naomi who I love bad , then what does that say about us? That I am willing to compromise on anyone I love for someone else. it is a frustrating moment.

Don't publish your passwords on github!

https://gizmodo.com/the-worst-leak-that-ive-witnessed-u-s-cybersecurity-agency-leaves-its-digital-keys-out-in-public-on-github-2000760330 Passwords were supposedly saved in a .csv file so i guess we are using Excel spreadsheets to save passwords. What a glorious time to be alive. You can't even figure out if it is stupid or on purpose or both. (Update) Thanks for your replies, it's 2026. I thought everyone used password vaults at this point

How do you export all chats?

(I've read the FaQS) It seems like every tool is going to require you to pay money. if you hit export all data, you probalby have to wait a very very long time. even talking to chat gpt about this gives frustrating answers. Am I missing something? I just want the text and response text of my converstaions, but this seems like a huge ask.

in season 5 episode 4 I can't believe how cool

that fucking robot is. I love that scene where it just blasts into Fred's office and no one can stop it. I assume it is Martian Navy built. what's it like in the book?

you know what I would do if I won the lottery?

I would take a day off, and tell me wife, I'm calling 1-800-GOT-JUNK and we are getting rid of stuff. crap from in laws, crap the kids broke. ugh I am so sick of living in a house that has JUNK!!! Fuck me! (Update) Thank you for your kind suggestions, to be clear we are talking about a medium storage locker area worth of stuff that I would want to get rid of, but need to negotiate with my wife.

So yesterday I went to Wendy's drive-thru for the first time in a while

I got a small Frosty, four-piece nuggets and a junior cheeseburger for $8 and I was pretty darn happy with that. I thought the prices were nuts but that wasn't bad and the portion sizes were tolerable. I thought the service had other Wendy's were bad but this was okay

Careless people who make life difficult for others

I cannot believe it but I was actually arguing with somebody on the internet about the hantavirus. Apparently since the cruise ship where the infection happened went by some ports with landfills that automatically meant that it was okay to go to a rat infested landfill to go look at birds without giving a single fucking thought to what diseases might be picked up and brought back to a closed system. People suck and this is why I will never go on a fucking cruise. Heck it's why flying and taking a Subway suck too

just noticed in season 5 episode 1 that......

Amos' new jacket has Murtry crossed out. That is a nice easter egg. I wonder what happened at the conclusion of season 4 when Amos thanked Murtry

Zagreb Yugoslavia (now Crotia) travel pamphlet from the '80s

As a child, I got to see Zagreb while it was still part of Yugoslavia, before Croatia became independent. I recently digitized and uploaded a pamphlet from that era to the Internet Archive because I think even small pieces of everyday history are worth preserving.

Which Arjun do you like?

I think I'm more a season 1 type guy. I really don't like the season 4 character. The whole drama with re-election and everything is kind of tiring for me and I could do without the drama.

I love my dog but goddamn they're like 5-year-olds with how they break into everything

Sometimes it is cute but this time it was for a 32 oz package of custom printed m&M's so I'm looking at a $3,000 vet bill
