Variable servicing

Just picked up my 2025 Arona after first service oil/inspection at 18000 miles on variable servicing.

Told them to keep it on variable as it only does motorway miles, approx 18k yearly.

Service screen is now showing next oil service due in 9000 miles or 365 days.

Have they sneakily switched me to annual, or will those numbers creep up with usage?

TIA

Aircraft noise Aug 8.

I'm 5 miles east of Devizes and the loudest aircraft I've ever heard just went overhead at 21:30 August 8.

Anyone know what it was? Fast jet on afterburners maybe? It was not low, but sounded like the world coming to an end.

Very used to low flying military aircraft around here, but never heard one like that.

What is the highest monetary amount of damages someone could cause with a single rock?

(Note: this is just a thought experiment to see what kind of answers people come up with. Not condoning or supporting any forms of damage or property destruction.)

Say you are equipped with a single 1lb rock.

What can you do with it to cause the most expensive damages possible?

I'm thinking tossing it into the engine intake of a Boeing 777x or similar aircraft would be up there. Probably would cause a minimum of ~$5M in damage.

Can you think of a more expensive way to use your rock?

Friend just hooked me up with this

I live near a campground and befriend a lot of homeless folks that stay there. I like to ride through and check on folks and help as much as I can. One of my friends who is staying at the campground just gave me this. Perfect timing seeing how it’s raining here on the 4th. Bout to dive into this one. Much love to this sub and the motorcycle community. Happy Independence Day

Update: this is a difficult book to read. I still like it so far but the first chapter definitely tries to make you put it down. 2nd chapter is a little better so I’ll keep reading.
