1.5 weeks of listening to house music with the Momentum 5

When I started researching headphones, I had a simple premise: I wanted noise canceling headphones that sound loud without being loud. I mainly listen to house music, so my goal was basically to get the feeling from being in a club in headphone form. I listened to at least 10 different pairs of headphones: Sony WH-1000XM6, B&W PX7, PX8, Sonos Ace, Sennheiser HDB 630 being among them. None of them really gave me a wow factor in terms of my music. The closest I got to my vision were with the B&W PX8 S2, because they offer tons of bass.

Then I finaly got to listen to the new Momentum 5 and let me tell you, it wasn't even close. These headphones offer a deep baseline that is just present enough to not bleed into the mids. Drums sound punchy and have a great sense of physicality to them. Details are resolved so well, it almost feels as if you could touch them. Vocals and highs are clear without being piercing. These headphones really imitate standing in front of a big club sound system. I only have to crank them halfway up to get the "loud without being loud" feeling.

Regarding other genres these still sound great, but at least to me where they really shine is with electronic music. The difference to other headphones is much larger when listening to house then when listening to pop or rock.

The noise canceling is very good. I was listening to them on a train and in the office and both times the noise canceling did what I expected it to do. I don't have much to compare the Momentum 5 to though, because previously I was just using in ear headphones.

Overall I am really happy with them and can definetly recommend them to my fellow house heads.

anything i can make with a toy camera?

I take stuff apart for fun but this one made me wonder, can i make anything with it?

EDIT: after many warnings, I have disposed of the battery (went to an electrician, he said he’d take it to an e-waste bin)

I made a polyrithmic mixing table

Maybe you've already heard of polyrithmic mixing^(1), it's a great transition techniqe to go across huge BPM ranges in a smooth manner while also creating a real wow effect in your sets. What always bugged me is that it is only showcased for just a few BPM pairs and loop lengths in online tutorials. So I sat down and did the math for all BPM pairs from 70 to 200 BPM and for 3 to 10 Beat loops and entered all the combinations where the transition works. If you use this table and come up with a cool transition, please share it with us. I'm exited to see what people come up with!
