Why do job postings not include a salary?

When browsing for job listings they all only say "competitive" or "negotiable" and even the benefits are vague "health programs". Why is that? Compare that to US listings where pay is often specified or at least a range is indicated "20 - 50 p/h" and benefits are specified "25 lunch allowance".

I'm looking for an internship and don't know how to deal with this. Will salary be negotiated DURING interview or after the offer? So I'll take an offer not knowing how much to earn? Or will I have to ask to negociate pay or else I'll only get to know with my first salary check? And how do you even go about negociating if they don't even specify a range? Resp is it so that you are expected to tell your worth and if you ask too much they take another candidate based on your salary expectations?

How to cancel purchase?

Bought a "used" phone case. Checked the images more closely and saw that it has two cracks. Wanted to cancel the purchase. Seller says he already send the item but I could initiate a return once it arrived. Problem: It ships via ebays global shipping program. So I'll have to cover the return shipping cost according to his return policy. It did not arrive at ebays shipping center yet, so I tried to contact ebay so that they could return it from their center rather than first shipping it overseas and then me having to ship it right back (and pay for shipping). Was told this isn't possible. What can I even do?

Renting a bike with no license (read description)

Hi there, I have a car license and IDP but no bike endorsement. I frequently ride dirt bikes in the Uncompahgre National Forest (CO) and have an OHV license to ride it on road to the trails.

Now I'm interested in renting a bike (not a scooter).

Not worried about bribing, etc. However, very worried about what happens in the event of a crash.

I do not want to ride in traffic / cities but I'll have to to get out of them. I'm not an inexperienced rider, but accidents can happen. I have travel insurance incl. gross negligence coverage, so that SHOULD cover medi bills. The damage to the bike would not be covered though and no protection from the shop owner charging me tenfold? What if I rent with insurance from the shop owner?

Unpopular opinion - good that the case opens when it falls

The case falls, the buds fall out like a frag granade. We've all been there. I think it's actually a clever feature as this enables the buds to be found via smart find.

Item with policy violation sold - ship it?

In short: Item apparently has a policy violation but still sold. Do I still ship it or will eBay cancel the sale and refund the guy? Explanation: Had a listing on regional ebay and buyer wanted it shipped to Israel. Purchase didn't go through despite me offering world wide shipping. Found out isue can be resolved if I list item on ebay com. On same account I made this "dummy" listing with just a screenshot and link to the original listing and told him to buy there. It worked. He did initially send me his phone number but I never offered to make the purchase outside eBay - hence why we still did via eBay.

What now? Send it?

How to use credit card points (Europe)?

[All my credit cards are set to auto pay. Usage only for the points.]

I had the AMEX gold card and racked up ~120k points as AMEX acceptability is rather limited in Europe. On top of that I had mine issued in Switzerland, meaning it's currency was in CHF. This made any usage outside Switzerland non-smart as currency conversion fees would eat up any benefits. Other than the annual 2 lounge allowances, there were no benefits I was really able to use.

Transfered my points to miles&more, canceled the AMEX gold and got the AMEX cashback card instead. Annual fee: 0.- (gold was 300.-) and I already earned 130.- in cashback, so I see this as a win.

Now I close to 70k miles sitting in my miles&more. I fly 10+ per month, however with very varying ailliances as I fly Europe, Russia, USA. I was wondering what the best use for these miles would be; use for reward flights (I get reimbursed travel costs but can choose flights, etc myself)? Or for upgrades? Didn't find much in the rewards shop.

More general; anyone have tipps or recommendations qua credit card setup?

Multi bagging experience (and one and no bag tryout)

Hi there, just my bagging experience.

Tripple bagging:

Earliest experience. Long trips to and in the US. Would have 2 checked duffle bags as well as a carry on backpack.

Two bagging:

Got the duffle bag as seen in the picture from sponsors (motorspor). (Question: Which color looks better - blue or red?). Paired with my deployment bag as carry on. Frequently underfilled both unless hauling full race gear. Duffle bag capacity: 110L

One bagging:

Tried out one bagging on a 3 week trip to Siberia. (Last pic). At some point I got tired of wearing the winter boots so I had to get a grocery bag to carry them and came back to multibagging.

Zero bagging:

Loved the freedom of one bagging. Tried zero bagging on a day trip from Moscow to Volgograd. Flight there at 7AM. Flight back at 5PM. Worked like a charm. Not sure how I'd do if I had an overnight stay though.

Back to multibagging:

Figured an overfilled deployment rucksack isnt exactely comfortable. Used my deployment duffle bag (55L) as well as the rucksack. It was borderline for many carry on flights. Switched the duffle for the Patagonia 55L. Worked well.

Final multi bagging setup:

Rucksack + 60L duffle bag (sponsored). The motorsport duffle bag is smaller than the ones I originally had, very lightweight, water resistant, folds fully flat and can be squashed enough to easily fit airline carry ons but also has enough internal volume capacity to be fully filled with gear and pass as a checked luggage. Upgrade: Got a set of 3 compression bags. Great in theory but your clothes become rock hard rectangles. If you can't stack them the volume saving is minimal.

Pros of my setup: Works as a carry on + pers. item set. Works as a checked + carry on set. Backpack can be fit into the duffle to reduce to one bagging. At max capacity I get 95L volume. At carry on + pers item I get ~65L total usable volume.

Volume of the Patagonia Black Hole 55?

How come that Patagonia claims that the Black Hole Duffle 55 is - well - 55L in volume, but following their claimed EXTERNAL dimensions of 22.8x13.3x9.5 it works out to roughly 47L.

Am I missing something?

Did 5.11 change the shoulder straps of the LBD LIMA?

Was going to buy a Lima but just saw that on the product page the shoulder straps don't seem to have a quick release on the padding. I don't see the extension functionality to quickly use them as shoulder carry straps (duffle bag mode). When I search up older reviews the straps seem different.

Can the new 5.11 rush lbd lima still easily extend to be used as shoulder carry?

Edit: The old one had a double attachement of the straps. You had the quick release on the padding which would double the straps length below. But it was still attached at the bottom of the padding. Now it looks like it just an ordinary quick release which fully disconnects the straps with no way of easily extending them to shoulder carry mode with out fiddling the adjuster thingy.

TT vs 5.11 duffle bag?

Short:

TT 45L duffle or 5.11 LBD lima?

Explanation:

Travel a lot for work. Current:

Pers. Item: 5.11 rush 24L rucksack

Carry on: nan

Checked: nan

Looking to add a duffle for carry-on. Must compress so it can fit smaller aircraft. Else as large as possible. Foldable so it fits in backpack when empty.

Had my eyes on the 5.11 rush LBD lima (56L). (Slips w/ most airlines). Open to trying out Tasmanian Tiger though.

Opinions, experiences, advice?

Thanks folks!

Change my carry-on setup

I do 40+ flights a year (work).

Carry on: 50L 5.11 duffle bag

Pers. Item: 24L 5.11 backpack.

Checked: nan

90% of people travel w/ a carry on trolley and a stylish duffle bag. I don't see the practicality. If you fly in a smaller aircraft (e.g. CRJ) the trolley wont fit. Even on regulars at 6kg for an aluminum u used 60% of your weight allowance! Once arrived, unless you get picked up, a trolley and weekender is anything but practical.

Sure, I could switch from tactical gear to e.g. Helly Hansen Duffle and backpack. But 5.11 served me well for 6+ years; rugged, durable, and many pockets.

Switch to trolley + keepall?

Switch to HH / Patagonia duffle + rucksack?

Would like to hear your thoughts / experiences and opinions.
