There is no Restriction to Chant नमः शिवाय !

It has become popular that Panchakshar Mantra can't be chanted without Guru Diksha. Primarily due to PREMANAND MAHARAJ. That's FALSE!!!

People also call Panchakshari (5 syllables) Mantra as ॐ नमः शिवाय। That's incorrect too. Adding ॐ makes it Shadakshari (6 syllables) Mantra.

Chanting Shadakshari may be debatable, but Chanting Panchakshari Mantra is TOTALLY ALLOWED!!! Here's why:

नास्य दीक्षा न होमश्च न संस्कारो न तर्पणम् ।

न कालो नोपदेशश्च सदा शुचिरयं मनुः |

English translation: This mantra requires no initiation, fire ritual, purification, or ancestor offerings. It also has no time restrictions or formal instruction requirements, as it is inherently pure.

SOURCE: Skanda Puran, Book 3, Section 3, Chapter 1, Panchakshari Mahatmya, Verse 21

So please bust these myths and chant Panchakshari Mantra freely. And please don't refer mantra with Om as Panchakshari Mantra, because that's Shadakshari Mantra.

नमः शिवाय 🙏

Anybody managed electrolytes without supplements?

I wish to know stories where people managed their electrolytes without supplements. This seems single most, and frankly the only worry on this diet. Can somebody share their diet and how they've managed it? Should we be looking at RDAs or beyond it?

Is my Naam Jap effort in Vain?

I do naam jap, I softly utter in mouth that it's not heard loud. But I do it continuously, on my jap meter. Sometimes my mind is wandering outside, either it's songs playing in background, or my thoughts, or people talking that later when gained consciousness, I wonder whether I did it properly or not. Will it count in my total count. Or my efforts are in vain?

How do you convice your kids to believe in our Itihaas and Puranas, And Grand description of our Bhagwan as we know them?

All of the above feel supernatural. I personally just pray and take it at face value, thinking there must be something true in it, something that I'll never know and just leave it at that. For me, I deliberately pray to Bhagwan because prayer to Bhagwan feels very powerful, it gives immense hope. Without doing that I feel hopeless and incomplete. So sometimes this question of truth becomes not important at all.

But how do I tell the kids, if they ask me out of curiosity whether any of this is true? Like Bhagwan Hanuman, are they symbolic, or are they truly that way? Bhagwan Shree Krishna, they are so grand, beyond imagination, but is it true? Dwarka exists which we can argue can be proof but still they'll question. This made me question my practice too, which made me little uncomfortable honestly speaking, as up till now I pray for self, and take everything at face value, as it is.

What we've been taught in the school about Money and Banking is a Lie!

The above is my Hypothesis.

There is a concept called Lie-To-Children used in academia to teach technically incorrect concepts to children. It's done, not with an intent to deceit, but to rather enable children to grasp concepts which can later be corrected when they develop ability to understand messy concepts, because truth is messy.

On that note, in school as well as university, we were taught about MONEY MULTIPLIER, where essentially, banks don't create money themselves they just intermediate between borrowers and lenders. They use the excess deposits of customers to lend to borrowers, and multiply it which creates money. But essentially they still need deposits from their customers to do so, so even though money is created through multiplication of deposits, their role remains as intermediary.

That's not true in reality. Bank Of England wrote a paper in 2015 where they explicitly said that multiplier is not how money is created in modern economy! Banks don't need customer deposits to lend to borrowers. They can do it just by simply printing the numbers in their account, should the borrower qualify per credit score.

Offcourse there are limits to this, they can't do this infinitely. There are constraints with respect to reserves at Central Bank. These reserves are not customer money. They are banking money.

But what we have been taught, is not how things work.

NCERT books are outdated? We have been lied to about how money is created in modern economy?

There is Chapter in Macroeconomics book of NCERT called Money and Banking. This chapter talks about how money is created through so called 'Money Multiplier' and bank is constrained by how much it can create based on how much deposits it has of its customers. It maintains that even to this day that's how money is created.

Then there is an eleven year old, 2015 paper from Bank Of England, which talks about 'Money Creation in Modern Economy' It explicitly rejects the idea of so called 'Money Multiplier' and says that BANKS DONT NEED EXISTING DEPOSISTS OF CUSTOMERS TO LEND. THEY CREATE CREDIT OUT OF NOTHING, BY SIMPLY CREATING A DEPOSIT NUMBER IN ACCOUNT OF BORROWER. Now mind you, They explicitly say, that this is how GLOBALLY, money is created. Major World Economies follow this model.

Apart from this, major outlets in media and famous economists like Richard Werner, maintain that that's how money is created. Besides India follows Basel normas of banking as do others, so its possible that it's true!

My question is, if this is all true, which most likely seems it is, why the hell are we not taught about it in our NCERT MACROECONOMICS textbook? Why we are taught outdated concepts like Money Multiplier?

It's so frustrating! It's like all I have read about money and economy was a lie, it doesn't resonate with current reality!

Could you rate my diet?

Having a stick of butter and 50 grams of chicken fat, because chicken fat seems to have high omega 6 and I'm not getting omega 3 from my food sources so have capped it to 50g. But how do you see having 1 stick of butter as major fat source on keto diet?

The niacin upper limit reached I know, but I heard that from natural sources like chicken breast, it's safe.

Will I get desires results of naam jap, even if I do irregularly?

(desired* in title) I have failed to do naam jap with anushtan a couple of times. Hence I reverted to do it as much as it happens. Somedays I do a lot, or little, or none at all. Count has been irregular. But whatever and how much ever I do, will that help me get a desired result?

My thought process here is that since among 1008 names of Bhagwan Shiv, he's been described as Ashutosh (one who's easily pleased), Sarvajna (one who knows everything), Sarvakamad (one who grants all desires), there is hope for my deeds regardless.

Listening to myself, I admit that sometimes I feel the answer is No, but perhaps if I could be wrong, and if there's hope, I'd like to know. I do Shiv Panchakshari.

Before anyone tells me about deeksha, id like to clarify, that the permission is explicitly granted in Skanda Purana chapter about significance of Panchakshari Mantra, and anyone can chant it

Did any prayer you thought was impossible got fulfilled?

I recently read Autobiography Of Yogi, where Yogananda was facing a completely impossible exam to pass. His guru told him to stop calculating the odds, drop human logic, and just trust and pray. He later met a guy called romesh, who guided him and to his surprise, only those parts came. There is more to this story of why it was still hard to pass, but Against all mathematical probability, reality bent in his favor and he Passed! Read Chapter 23 of Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi.

Have you experienced something similar? I'd love to hear your stories. What was the crisis, what did you do, and exactly how did you pray to completely shut out your logical mind? What happened in the end?

Dubai Marina and JBR are strategically the best areas to live in Dubai, Period!

Dubai Marina and JBR are close to several of Dubai's main employment hubs, including Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, JLT and Dubai Knowledge Park, all within about 10–15 minutes with Tram station network. They also have direct access to Sheikh Zayed Road and are served by the metro, where 2 tram stations are connected with metro stations as well, making it easy to reach DIFC and Business Bay.

The area has more than 200 residential towers, a large supply of apartments, and Dubai Marina Mall which covers shopping as well supermarket for daily goods and services. Spinneys is on the walk, restaurants, cafes and the beach are within walking distance, arguably the best nightlife. The cherry on top will be the close proximity to Al Maktoum Airport.

This makes it convenient for both work and everyday living.

As an Expat with FatFire, would you live in Rio De Janeiro?

Brazil got a golden visa programme, comes with permanent residency and has simple 183 day rule for non residency on rolling basis, nothing complicated like UK's SRT test or habitual residency in EU. So can spend up to 4-5 months in Rio and go somewhere else, Dubai or elsewhere, be a non resident. I read a lot about Rio and have mixed opinions about it though. The weather seems awesome, it's a beach City, and a huge one which is a plus point, great culture, always something to do.

But it's such a paradoxical city, North zone and Specific favellas in south can be hell, but the south part is so separate from these parts, they say it's Kinda a bubble living in the South Zone, places like leblon ipamena, if you are rich, can be quite safe apart from petty crimes in this South Specific Zone.

Is it worth considering to split time for an expat? Say 4-5 months, while remaining non resident?
