Singed is supposedly weak early, but why does he statcheck in this clip?

Singed is supposedly weak early, but why does he statcheck in this clip?

Hi,

question about powerspike and strength of Singed.

everytime someone ask on matchup vs Singed It seems like people are telling that singed is useless early and you destroy him level 1.

In this clip a ex-Challenger Jax OTP is playing (he had a break, is climbing back) and he is getting statchecked on level 1 by a singed.

Singed Mains also argue that they are not allowed to touch wave because of how weak Singed is, but in this clip it seems the opposit, the Singed is dominating against an ex-challenger Jax OTP.

If he is struggling against Jax how are lower elo people supposed to deal with him in early?

The clip (Go to Minute 44.): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2848222710

Again, this is not a random Jax player, he was playing in high elo and stomping even bad matchups as Jax, but he is getting statchecked by a "weak early" champ Singed which I dont understand.

Either the information the Singed mains and other posts are wrong or there is a special case here where Singed brutally hard counter Jax?

Should I drop Jax? Am I expecting too much?

Hi,

I went from emerald to low master with Jax, but now I cant abuse enemy mistakes anymore like in lower elo I had.

Matchups like GP, Mundo become so painfull to deal with.

I tried everything (build, runes), but after like 20 mundo games in low masters I want to quit Jax as OTP and maybe only use him as counterpick. Sure I could beat bad Mundo's at lower elo, or sometimes autofilled top, but dealing with a guy that is supposed to be "weak" in early and scale like a monster while he coutners me...

Or a fed APC who doesnt waste his CC like in low elo, but saves It to disable me or oneshot me.

Unless I have a good matchup, It feels like I would be better of playing tanks.

I even ordered a coaching, after that session... basically I have to play way better skill wise than the enemy pick or lose the game. Dont get me wrong, ofc I have to play better to advance, but the discussion was about that I have to play way better than my opponent on those matchups, that is what makes me sad. I'm happy with low master or high master, dont want to push for GM. So its more of a Stay in my elo but have fun thing which I struggle at. My coach told me about mistakes that I made in early to get a micro advantage and snowball with that microscopic advantage while the enemy Mundo player can do so many mistakes...

He showed me how my Ornn for example was granting me free LP (high winrate on Ornn) while I dont even learn that champ. He told me, that this is balanced because a perfect played Jax will make a Mundo struggle, however a average Jax will suffer.

So I either now start to play Jax now like an crazy OTP player and learn to play him more into the "high good" level or drop him as blind.

I can go 15/0 on non-counter/bad matchups but man... some matchups want me to quit or swap to a champ that can deal with such things.

The coaching helped me alot, but It kinda makes me want to play Jax less. The amount of work I have to put into him to make him work against those matchups seems so ... unfair.

Hit a brick wall on master 200lp as Jax, need help

Hi,

I cant seem to advance with Jax any further, anytime I want to gain LP i have to switch to tanks like Ornn where pushing to 800 LP seem to be a cake walk. When i start to play Jax again I drop slowly again to lwo master again. Only with Olaf I can kinda keep on 600 LP, but with Jax I fall all the way down, and on Ornn and other tanks which I usually am really bad at, I feel liek getting free LP.

Its always the same, I win lane, go 4/0 in lane and 9+ kills in midgame, but I still lose like 80% of the teamfights, it feels like the enemy 0/6 Tahm Kench has 100 times more impact then me in teamfights.

Splitpush becomes also difficult, for some reason I kinda start to lose against Tahm even after getting 1 item advantage.

One game for example, enemy Tham with Hearthsteel + unending despair, he was litterly unkillable, the 0/6 Tahm kench was 1v9 us (Ezreal, Nauti, Xerath, Xin and me as Jax). Our ADC coudlnt do any damage, I tried to play front to back, deny enemy backline solo, I tried to play for peel but that seemed to be the worst idea, I cant splitpush because for some reason he starts to statcheck me.

Its always the same, I win lane, get T1, slowpush into TP teamfights or roam/flank.

The only time I feel impactfull as Jax is, when I litterly go 15/0 so either 1v9 in early to mid, but when Im only slithly ahead It feels like lose game.

I watched some high elo Jax VODs, dont know... they seem to do the same , create space, front to back or dive. When I do this I get CC slapped, my hourglass should help me to do a second rotation, but they litterly just wait and watch me come back to chain CC me and we lose, I dont have any impact in teamfights.

Is there any specific guide for this? Dont know what to do. I dont want to switch to Ornn to gain Elo, I like playing Jax.

How to get (early-mid game)tempo vs range top with high wave clear?

Hi,

Conditions:

  • Jax (me) vs GP, (both ignite)
  • Jungler paths to bot, no Grubs or Herald play pure 1v1 lane, pings (dive pings) dont attract him, thats ok
  • Minute 11~, so losing waves or plates for early TP is not worth
  • I have 2 or 3 kills lead
  • GP has ER (before that everything is fine)
  • Dia2+ Elo (low Master right now, but with low elo since I only peeked)

Normally, I use my lead to get T1, or build up tempo to use flank TP for bot get tripple (jungle gank) and come back top without losing much. But I struggle vs high wave clear laners.

I kinda start to tower dive him and doing bad trades, somewhat trying to make him bait into bait trade or come out for a short trade so I can dive him, but they kinda start to stay under tower.

Options I see:

  • Freeze lane, while this could be decent in first half, It becomes worse imo, you cant extend your lead to the map since you are "locked" with a guy who isnt worth anyway, I dont want to coinflip and hope my bot is good, I want to get tempo, TP bot, and extend my lead.
  • Go for risky 100% HP tower dives (vs a Ignite+ER GP), I tried that... sometimes it works, but this will lead me to have barely any HP left, my wave already gone (since his trades also clears the waves when he gets one barrel off)
  • Proxy+Invade, this I do with Olaf, since he is great at 1v2 with his anti CC, but this with jax I feel like is really risky vs high CC junglers. I think this depends on how muhc of Lead I have and If I can 1v2 them. But even 1v1, Proxy vs GP feels kinda akward, he will oneshot his wave on tower, walk to me, prepare barels and poke me while staying walking between tower, my wave clear as Jax is also not greate, so even worse If I use my E for wave, which will make me more vulnareable.
  • Shove wave (or slow push, doesnt matter he will oneshot the wave with barrel), and just wait for second Drake or big fight and TP, basically trade your own tower to spread lead, which is kinda lame and feels awfull, will make GP come back to game and scale, while I will potentially lose gold and exp If I dont get kills botside.

Jax vs high range and disengage matchups

Hi,

any advice how to play Jax vs Velkoz Top? Velkoz will safe his E (which will knock me back) to interupt my engage and get out of my E range. After 6 he starts to stat check me after a failed engage.

My guess is to give prio, hope for jungle ganks? Which seems kinda lame to hope for a gank instead of winning byurself.

How do I trade vs him after level 2/3 when he has E? Q poke strategy doesnt work, since after my first engage he will punish me hard and I will die on my second engage becuase his E kinda seem to counter me very hard. His passive also hurts a lot on level 6 and statchecks me.

Struggling in higher elo vs mages top as Jax

Hi,

so I am pretty new to the "higher" elo brackets, in master I keep getting Range Top which I am doing fine.

My problem is Mages like Velkoz (not joking).

I got coached on most matchups, but I struggle with strange picks like Velkoz.

Velkoz will always safe his E (knock up) for my engage. What will happen is, that If I engage, his E will knock me BACK, so my E cannot connect. Afterwards he will burst me down brutally hard with ult. Since my Q CD is pretty long. Engaging on him after level 6 will lead to my death.

So engaging doesnt seem to be an option. But sitting under tower and beeing poked down also not. Is this an just loss lane by default? If so why isnt Vel played more on top?

Winning game vs Velk is not the issue, but winning lane is.

So I could say that he isnt picked at all that much and ignore the matchup, but I would like to get better at the game and understand that matchup anyways.

I appreciate any help.

League of legends moba replacement

I have been Grindig League for years. I Like the competitive part, improving myself, Ranking up. But after reaching master I relise the Game wont Change. You will have the Same uncontrollable Games Like in lower elo where you lose because of teammates. Or win Games because Enemy has afk. I Like the gameplay a lot but I hate the matchmaking and the Community.

So I am Looking for a replacement where I can Speend thousands of hours and years on the Game. Somewhat longtime progression instead of sandbox Like minecraft.

I dont like shooters or fighting games. But I Play Chess a lot but thats Not a game i can Play for hours daily. In Chess I Like a Lot to learn from my mistakes, reviewing my match and learn new moves.

I want to avoid team dependance. I Like to Play with others online but having a Bad time because of others frustrates me. Thats why I Quit League.

I tried diablo Like Games but couldnt find Motivation to Grind every Season with a New Char.

Games Like baldurs gate3 , elden Ring and so on Are Great but I already played them, dont really want to spend more time into them , After 3 Runs it feels pointless.

Can Zaahen contest wave in early vs hard matchups?

Hi,

never played Zaheen but against him and always had pema prio even with weak early champs like Gragas.

Dont know If its skill issue, but Zaheen seems to be losing all matchups early and has to give prio and hope the enemy doesnt freeze (Which I am always doing as enemy when playing vs Zaheen).

Some small questions about his early levels.

I am wondering If I would try him out, can he contest level 1 wave when he stands in his own minions vs Darius, Urgot (level 1-3) and Morde level 6?

Or can he not fight back and need to give up prio? How can Zaheen react to bounce back of wave which will lead to freeze when facing Darius for example? Can he contest the freeze on first wave bounce back?

Shen Matchup

Hi,

Titanic Hydra + Dusk and Dawn shen.

How do I beat him? Cant fight him in early since bad mana. The E interaction is wired, we both get stunned but he can follow up with Q.

With Titanic Hydra he just seems to be a 1v1 monster who also insta pushes wave and roams whole map.

I dont understand his weakness.

Dodging his E seems really hard when you try to farm. Whole matchup feels like you both afk farm...

Doing the combo against him is risky he will follow up or press W instantly so I cant proc W and stormrazor

New player experience is terrible

Most of us never saw pov of a new player. I didnt until now. I watched a random twi stream with 5 views.

There was a pretty much new player, level 32 (but not smurf) he had no idea how to play the game, he was playing with some friends normals and all where pretty new to the game.

He was playing top and got completly demolished every single game, he was going 0/9 most of the time while the enemy was try harding and killing him over and over without relising that this palyer is completly new and has no idea how the champ works or how the matchup works.

My issue is, that this new players are matched against random level 599 players who have way more experiecen then them.

"Level doesnt matter" is one of the most lamest takes. A actual new player wont have good experience vs a guys who knows basics vs a guy who doesnt even know how his champ work.

Like in normal there isnt even a "ok this guy has no idea what he is doing, he doesnt even know his champ, maybe I shouldnt kill him 10 times in a row every time he shows in lane". I can bet, that majority of player base will downvote me for this statement - normals games.

The new player guy was "omg he is so good, what level is he", i checked It the guy he was facing was "only" silver, but you have to imagine that a new player has to face someone who has some idea how to win a matchup while the other guy has non. The worst part is that the other side will show litterly no mercy.

The guy in steam was getting kinda "sad" and depressed to play league since he was going 0/9 pretty much every game. He was trying to have fun, actually trying to understand what happened when he dies. But Its just unfair and sad that the poor guy is getting stomped by some randoms over and over while the matchmaking doesnt give a f.

Im dia top, when I play normals for chill, maybe I kill opponent 3-4 times, but what should be the reaosn to kill him 9 times , try harding. Maybe It would be better for the community If we would help new players instead of farming them.

Again, in my 8 years of league, I never had this in my mind. But I randomly watched a guy with 5 viewes who plays with friends getting nonstop stomped made me relise there are actually new players out there and they are getting completly brutally stomped.

imo: the matchmaking is terrible for new players. Level should matter but also MMR, yes sure a level 30 could be a smurf but you can detect that. A "non" smurf level 500 is not equal to a new player.

TLDR: the normal matchmaking is extrmly unfair to real new players and the community has no sense of "help the new player" like many other online games have.

Control Mage vs Assasins, early game shove vs freeze

Hi,

I am Emerald and I play Viktor. I watched some gudies about Viktor vs Assassins. They do different things, sometimes they perma freeze, sometimes they perma shove. I dont understand when to do which thing.

Viktor vs Kata - perma shoves
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWJzKMpCIVk

Viktor vs Ekko - Freezing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYK2CcP8Ess

Viktor vs Qiyana - perma shoves (also exhaust)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAgpKYXR0iw

Im confused. Is this highly matchup dependent? How do I decide to perma shove vs freeze.

My ideas:
A Ekko will run you down even level 1 , so better freeze.
Diana level 3 will run you down in your own minion wave with ignite, so also freeze?

But so can a Katarina level 3.

Fizz level 2 can chunk you HARD, when you shove he will get level 3 on his own tower and will delete you level 3. So Its really hard for me to play shove game here, but apparently this is what I should do.

Is there a good explanation video or guide? Or any higher elo players here?

How do I play vs Ahri top?

Feel like I am not allowed to play the game vs her. Cant stand in minions becuase of her Q.

Have to stand behind minions at same time to not get hit by E.

Have to use long range Q which she will easly dodge, I fI try to do E combo she will E.

If I try to ult she will ult and dodge.

Is this hard counter?

Is shen extremly broken right now? His seems to do WAY to much damage in early

I played different champs against him and his damage seems WAY off.

One bad trade will send basically you to 40% hp, that doesnt sound balanced for a champ with high roam.

Also with titanic he becomes a monster statchecking most non duelist.

I legit lose 80% of my health on one trade, im not joking with titanic he will drop you to 80% If oyu get hit by one E combo.

Shen feel like stronger version of Darius who can roam and still lane bully hard.

How to trade vs Aatrox in early and after first back?

Hi,

struggling against Aatrox, in early I try to dodge his Qs, but cant find window to E him since he will follow up with W and my phase rush also kinda because obsolet when he has lower CDs after level 4/6, E into him becomes death sentance after his first back.

I feel like he can just run me down because of his lower Q CDs later.

He also did a 1v2 when my support tried to roam top.

He builded Shojin and Merc (rushed merc).

I dont want to play neutralizer Gragas, I want to learn to win lane agains thim.

What I tried:

Bait Qs by clicking in and out, dont know If he was OTP but he did not waste Qs, every Q of him had some purpose like last hitting minion and then use Q2 with E into me, If I E into him now he will follow upwith Q3/W and run me down with lower CDs. Even If I dodge Q2, I waste so much time clicking around dodging abilities, If I dodge Q2 he will hold Q3.

The lane kind becomes a dodge simulator with very little windows to go in.

Maybe I should try this strategy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tCDYaxrLV8

How do I not get run down by an revenous hydra olaf with ghost flash and ult?

Im bad gragas player, got like 80 games with him now. Im playing him in emerald3 (dropped form em1 when I started palying gragas).

I just got run down by an hydra merc boots Olaf. Early game was completly fine, but after he got rev hydra he legit, im not joking, he legit activates ghost and dived me 24/7 with his ult while im at full HP. For some reason, my full combo couldnt proc stormrazor.

He repeated that even on t2. I felt so damn useless. I couldnt stay under tower, not even under t2. He would just walk into me and kill me and with ghost he could run me down.

Only option I could see to survive this, is go full armor/health tanky. Becuase there is not a single counterplay to a flash/ghost Hydra Olaf who will run you down under tower. E away does not work, with ghost and his Q he will run me down. Procing Stormrazor only works with full combo with ult but even then he runs me down because its kidna to late.

I had also trouble against Heimerdinger and Yorick, I could not do anything but sit under tower.

I slowly believe Gragas is a terrible blind pick. He works well vs a lot of champs but also has some terrible matchups imo. Like some tanks who are smart and just rush MR. I cant touch them anymore.

This is why less people want to play top

Im an average top player trying to have some fun in normals, here is a list of my last games:

(Me on the left, emerald elo)

Garen vs Gnar

Garen vs Teemo

Gragas vs Yorick (counters me, I litterly cant do anything because my E gets blocked by his ghouls and If I E wrong he will trap and kill me, i cant oneshot ghouls after he gets level 4).

Ksante vs Varus (I dont know why, but I had 0 chance, eventaully he started to completly statcheck me, I checked later, Ksante has 42% winrate against Varus)

Rumbe vs Heimer (I Though, alright I get counterpicked nonstop, lets pick a good blindpick... I still get counterpicked. I sit under tower legit all game.)

Ambessa vs Aurora (bad matchup)

After that I had another Gnar and finally a wonderfull Garen vs Kayle where I was not allowed to touch her at all and she was free farming and poking me under tower.

In most of this game I had, I was sitting under tower, getting poked, suffering, not beeing able to interact with the enemy. The worst was Heimerdinger, when Jungler came to help me, the heimer legit oneshot me with one combo, I had with level 4 something like 900 HP, in death screen It showed for some reason he did 1200, he hit a granate and I just died with full HP. My jungler had to run away. That was a level 4 and not level 6 heimer... oneshotting me.

The point is. That is such an uninteractive gameplay on top, while my team as 4 was playing for objectives like bot tower, drake I was sitting under tower 24/7. I could have legit watched netflix on second screen and It wouldnt had made any difference.

If I move I will lose tons of xp, gold since I am getting pressured as counterpicked. My jungler cant camp me and I understand that.

This dosnt always occur, sometimes Im lastpick and we can have an "normal" Garen vs Darius skill matchup which is darius favored, but atleast I can try to interact now with my laner...

I dont know what the core problem is, but what I know when playing top lane: Its not fun.

Shen matchup, what the actual f is his Q doing 40% of my health on one trade?

TLDR: How do I trade vs a ignite shen? Later him with a giant belt. Trying to not stand between his Q, with his E I will eat the empowered Q.

Im bad jax player, so I dont have any ego to admit that. 100% skill isue, im bad.

When I try to Q A W him he will brutally outtrade me (becuase of his W) so I stopped doing that. What I tried was only "poking" with W but he will outtrade me hard If he decides to just E into me, wait after taunt If I try to fight back, If I fight back he will just press W.

With Giants Belt he took 40% of my HP with one trade combo (Shen did E+Q into me) while beeing tanky AF and kinda untouchable with his W.

Is there in depth guide for this matchup? Cause I tried to watch vods i didnt really understood them.

Are youtube vods bad source to learn matchups?

Hi,

everytime I struggle or dont understand how to play a matchup correctly I search for youtube Vods champ x vs y.

For some reason, majority of the vods the enemy top has no hands or does laughable mistakes which shouldnt happen in GM+. Im only dia top, and even my opponents (OTPs) dont do such terrible mistakes in laning like the people in vods do.

Feel like those vods are useless cause they have picked the most kda heavy wins most of the time where the enemy is either drunk or asleep.

Gragas vs Yone for example, Gragas favor (imo) but after Botrk I had issues so I looked up. The enemy Yone litterly AA the tower ignoring gragas preparing for full combo. He goes to 50% HP and then tries to "escape" with his E, like what the actual f...? I am so confused how those people are in this elo, most likely first timers? in GM+ I dont expect such mistakes, I expect small mistakes like missing one Q but not such fundamental concepts of the champion.

Is there a better source to review/watch/learn matchups? I try to also watch OTP streamers but they have really old videos with old runes and items. Or they show some random stuff on screen on important fights.

Wasnt there a side where you could search for OTPs and see their vods? I would like to find that again.

Im bad gragas, I lose to bronze yauo as emerald1 top, how do I beat yasuo (top)

EDIT: My bad, the guy was plat4, bronze was his tft rank. But still, I am bad for losing to a plat4 yasuo who prop peaked that.

I went stormrazor cause I saw some old gragas vs yasuo vods how they beat yasuo in early game with that.

I dont understand why, but I get brutally hard statcheck If I try to use stormrazor combo. Yasuo will litterly follow up with minions and with e+q3 I will get chunked down hard with Autos.

In those vods, for some reason the yasuo plays super passive. I think thats why they are winning with gragas in early. But here in emerald bronze (normal game) the yasuo player go full sayajin on me, they take exhaust, not to block my burst (I do no damage for some reason, but in those vods they do, i dont understand), they use exhause to catch me.

I can beat darius and urgot now, which I struggled first, I learned the matchup and now I beat them. But on Yasuo I dont understand how the other gragas players are winning so hard vs yasuo.

Like I said, If I do my combo on him, he will follow up in minions, so the solution I see maybe dont use fast Q, drop Q on own minions but then I would only do E+W and this would cost a lot of mana since Im using Q defensively.

Can anyone show a clip and explain what they are doing differently (top lane).

I watched also Sloppy, he seem to just play reactively instead proactive, but also for some reason the yasuo plays worse then the bronze yasuo I had: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcqgzmXkj0o

So lets say both are level 3, wave is neutral, what do I do now? Even If I would use E reactive, he will use E on other minions afterwards and try to run me down with exhaust. Or I lose so muhc HP by short trade. Also how do I react to his Q3+E when I already used E reactively to block his E before? I think I have to give up prio? Im confused because It seems like this matchup is gragas favored (reading some reddit posts) and in yasuo subreddit they kinda complain how difficult gragas is to deal with, but I struggle vs an bronze otp yasuo.

Appreciate any help.
