Bodega cats of the Heights

I see a couple around. Figured it'd be fun to post a couple. There's a Scottish fold nearby I'll try to get next week.

Math 4

So this course is pretty much self taught it seems. I seemingly have a lot more work to do in terms of all the ALEKS things I have to master. Any advice? I feel like I'm already behind before even starting because I have so much to learn to just be at where I need to start for the actual requirements for the class.

Shot in the dark re: NYC 100% P&T property tax exemption - Contact the Mayor form

Hey y'all. I figured I'd post this here as Mamdani is interested in fixing potholes people are posting on social media and tagging his office. I've had no luck trying to hear back from anyone on who to even contact to get this adopted in NYC.

There is a contact form for the Mayor. Use it!

https://www.nyc.gov/mayors-office/contact-the-mayor

Let's see if we can get some traction. Mention the recent passing of the bill and that it's opt in, and just ask who is leading the charge on getting it adopted.

We can do it!

Hot off the presses...

I was told that Northend will NOT be a Wonder, but another Northend set up just with a new owner. This was said by someone working in construction at the location. Obviously this is unverified but good news nonetheless.

Me explaining total war to a non-gamer at dinner

"So for every different faction of most of the games, you'll be playing a different version of the game, with different mechanics and starting positions, there's so much variety!"

*Blank stare* - "Are you ready to order?"

Tww1 multi?

Just wondering if anyone can share if it's viable to try to find someone to coop with. I know typically people say play 3 but I like getting achievements.

Northend?

I see they have some electrical work going on. Haven't heard anything about who actually leased it and what it's going to be if anyone knows or heard anything.

Runners high?

I just got back into running. I used to run half marathons 20 years ago and never had this happen and I was just wondering if what I experienced was a runner's high. So a great feeling while running was building up then kind of peaked, and then totally disappeared. I was so confused. Was that a runner's high?

Dolphin Park

Dolphin Park is located on the corner of 180th and Cabrini Blvd. Just advertising again as this park recently opened and is great for toddlers. It has a sprinkler and a jungle gym, and an attendant to ensure that only adults who are with children are in the park.

It's open 10-4p every day weather permitting. Break away cafe is right across the street and has a restroom.

3 classes working full time? (Online)

I'm starting next month. Just wondering if anyone tried this and what their experience was. I'm reading it's doable but hard. Also wondering how many actual hours you put in compared to the standard they give.

Past halfway!

Halfway through a 5 day water fast. Getting that potassium in today. Taking it slow! Went for a walk and now just in the work grind. Not hungry at all. So far down about 5lb which was probably water and food. One year ago about I was 172, now at 193. I'm much stronger but still want to cut a bit as it was getting past 200. I am stronger and have more stamina now. Progress pics from back then appear to be about the same with less muscle but I'm a bit bigger in the front and sides. Wish me luck!

Neighborhood problems with Spectrum?

Have used them for years without issues and suddenly this month dealing with outages every other day and near constant latency issues.

Diagnosing these problems can be a pain but at this point I've tested my equipment and am fairly certain it's not a problem on my end.

Are other people having issues, too? Might be the excuse I need to switch to FiOS.

Was this doorman out of line or just doing his job?

I'm looking at buying an apartment and walked with my dog by one of the buildings I’m going to be looking at tomorrow with a broker. I was standing on the public sidewalk outside (not even directly in front of it) FaceTiming my mom and showing her the exterior of the building. I wasn't inside the building or blocking the entrance.

The doorman called out to me from inside and asked, "What are you doing?" I told him I was just showing my mom the building because I'm looking at buying an apartment there.

He then told me I should have asked permission before doing that. I was confused because I was outside on a public sidewalk. We went back and forth a bit, and I said something like, "I'm literally standing outside the building." After I walked away, he came outside and watched to make sure I left.
My husband thinks this is a sign of a great doorman who's taking security seriously. I felt like he was unnecessarily aggressive and that if he had concerns, he could have just asked politely what I was doing.

Curious what others think. Was this normal for a doorman in NYC, or was he out of line?
