I live at a corner street in Manhattan that experiences heavy traffic from about 5 PM - 9 PM (if I'm being generous, it's probably longer) and then gets started back at 6 AM. I hate honkers so, so much. It's insane how ignorant and disrespectful they can be given the density of NYC.

I previously thought nothing could be done, but Gemini is telling me I can take actions that will eventually lead to getting a noise camera installed that in turn will fine the honkers. Is this a real thing? Has anyone seen it happen and be effective? Or would I be wasting my time entirely?

The other day, I was at the train station and the train was a bit crowded. It was packed where everyone was seated down. When there was an empty spot next to me, a young lady, looking like she was in her late twenties sat down next to me when there was no space available. As the train kept going forward in its stops, more people left the train and eventually, the entire row that I was sitting in was empty of people except me and this woman. Now, I definitely expected her to at least move down a little and not to sit too close to me like the environment was packed but she still sat there way too close. I just felt confused and a little shocked and looked a little angry tbh. It feels so awkward that someone doesn't understand what the hell providing space looks like. I looked directly at her in disgust and simply asked if I could get some personal space. What is wrong with people? Is it always like this?

So I am a 28yo male living in Brooklyn. I don’t like my current job but I lovee the city. I got a job offer like 20 mins from Boston proper, this job is like 7 days on and 7 days off model. I could get a similar job near NYC but not until next 2 years. Once I sign the job near Boston it’s a 3 year contract which would be a bitch to break. I always wanted to have 2 houses one in a city and one in a rural side with lots of nature space around.

Setup I am planning to do:

- Live one week near Boston when on duty days and live in NYC (with the pay I would be getting I could afford to rent in a desirable neighborhood in Manhattan even)

- Have a car/truck maybe a little farm, lots of nature spaces, maybe even buy the house in mortgage near Boston and Have the city life in NYC for the other week

Little background:

- I am a expat living in US for last 5 yrs. Lived in NYC for one year and moved back again 6 months back. Idk something about this city that I haven’t felt in any other cities. Idk why. This makes me want to live here.

- I have only visited Boston and idk how friendly Boston will be on me especially I am new and have nobody that I know there.

- I am also single and my family is not in US do not tied to any city

Question:

- I wanna know how practical is it to do this 2 city living. In my mind it seems great I get have both lifestyle. Peaceful week and chaotic city living week

- or should I just live in Boston ?

Would highly appreciate inputs especially if you or someone you know having this kind of lifestyle. Thanks. See

Edit: So I am pretty much leaning towards picking either one. Thanks for all the comments. Now a new question arises lol, pick the job in Boston now and start earning more or wait for a year and pick a similar job/pay in NYC. Again it might sound silly but I am trying to figure my home base in US (connections, opening small businesses etc.,) basically should I pick this Boston job and move there or be in NYC for one more year with this low paying job then get a better job next year in NYC. Pay difference would be 140k post tax.

So basically if someone offers you 140k and move to Boston and live there on your prime years and possibly investing there or stay in NYC for one more year then start doing all those lagging one year behind.

We renegotiated an antenna lease with AT&T and then they vacated. Another cell company is now requesting a renegotiation of lesser rent. A consultant suggested that there's collusion in the industry and companies would rather buy than lease the space. I don't think selling the space is a good idea. We are exploring other options. Has anyone used any of these listing companies to advertise the space? Any luck with that?

I recently moved back uptown after a few years out of state. I have a 2 year old daughter now and was wondering if anyone had any insight on any local Halloween activities that may be toddler friendly? My kid isn’t in childcare yet, so I’ve had very little opportunity to get her out there with other kids outside of the playground, so any tips on that locally would also be appreciated.
I grew up in The Bronx and trick-or-treating was mostly going business to business if you weren’t driving to more suburban neighborhoods above the Bronx.

I’ve loved being in HH since moving and am so looking forward to laying down roots again.
