Hmm, there's something wrong with this Rin Tohsaka. Is she any good for Archer?
Well, well, I get a Rin, you get a Rin, everyone gets a Rin!

Just a few months ago I was clowned on for picking Commander Pavel in the Moonlight Blessing selector because I liked his drip (every video and post I read said he was the weakest unit of the 6 but I didn't care because favorites over meta). I took a bit of a break before coming back but now he's ranked super high on tier lists everywhere and I'm like "well that was a good Bitcoin investment".
Varka was done dirty for 3 whole months waiting for his premium team upscale with Nicole, Prune and Hex support set bringing him up Flins + Bineffa levels of DPS. But now we have early calcs of Stellar teams which indicate a big wave of powercreep coming our way JUST when Varka managed to beat the fraud allegations for one patch (like, Wriothesely and Cyno Stellar teams are beating ZIBAI and she's the best DPS right now).
We had Mavuika and Skirk who could brute force past Lunar shill in 6.x, but I really don't know if Varka teams as they are right now will be able to do the same with Stellar shill in 7.x.
With Part 2 of the Fate Collab coming out soon, I thought it would be fun to theorise which Servant class each of the Supplicants would belong to if they were summoned in the same Holy Grail War (the Phantasmoon Games is basically a Holy Grail War, let's be real).
Here are my reasonings for each class:
After TS Ichigo confirmation as a Thrust Full Assault (and ain't no way Uryuu is going to be Strike).
Sparkle E1, so 168.2 SPD is needed for pseudo-200 SPD without S5 DDD, finally! Someone else can finally use the only S5 DDD I have on my account.
And yes I know my Crit Damage is abysmal but hey 200 SPD is way more important especially with reliable 2T Ults now!
Tweyen, Seofon and Sandalphon. I can't get a single straight answer no matter where I look.
What I do know is that if I buy the disc, it will have both the base game + the ER expansion (which includes like Beatrix and Eustace and the like). But nothing about the characters not in ER.
Can we please have an answer, fanbase-kun? Why not just use "Alt" or "2.0"?
Now before you say "all of them", yes that's a long-term goal. I don't even have half my RGB5 roster levelled or even max-awakened because I lack Spirit Blooms. I'm trying to level up ny ML5s first and full awaken them.
I managed to finally get one copy of every ML4 in the game. I hear that Bunny Dominiel is great for PvP, as is Watcher Schuri for PvE content. I already have both Singelica and AoL maxed. BBK as well, but I don't use her as much as I should. The latest Dark Rose seems promising too.
The premise I want to lay out first is that HP inflation is not the same as powercreep. HP inflation is strictly tied to enemy HP going up over time, while powercreep is tied to the playable characters' own damage output going up, often new characters having strictly better numbers and/or kits than older characters.
You can have one without the other, but they often go hand-in-hand (this isn't a distinction without a difference, because there are games that have powercreep without HP inflation).
If you look at all the big gachas right now (Genshin, HSR, ZZZ, Wuwa), the number one complaint I see from the fandom is how rampant HP inflation has gotten, specifically with endgame content like Stygian Onslaught, all of HSR's endgame modes, Tower of Adversity, etc.
Now, we know why gacha game devs do this. They want new character to make money, so they make new character powerful. New character powerful completely dominates endgame. Dev thinks new character make game too easy. Dev increase enemy HP so you don't one shot enemy. New character become old character and now feel weak. New character 2.0 comes out with bigger number. Repeat cycle 33,550,336 times.
And we know this is completely unsustainable in the long term because we see it happening now with these gacha games. It inadvertently punishes your older and more loyal playerbase because the characters they pulled for (and probably spent money to dupe them) are now obsolete and pushes you to spend on the latest and greatest.
You know what game has powercreep without HP inflation? FGO. The latest characters like Lord Logres and our coveted 10th anniversary Beast are undoubtedly the best characters in the game with severely busted kits, and JP just got an Arts support that finally dethrones Castoria as the best support in the game (and Castoria is almost 6 years old at this point). Yet enemy HP didn't go up in any meaningful way, and hasn't for long time since 90++ farming nodes were introduced. Why? Because they don't have to. They know these characters are strong and borderline (well, not borderline) busted, but that's the power fantasy they're selling to you. When you have a characted that's strong on release, newer characters with slightly better numbers can be released, but that older character won't be seen as "no longer strong" 6 months down the line. They're still able to crush enemies, and it gives that character far more longevity. When Summer Ibuki released, she was far and away the best AoE Arts farmer in the game. Summer Kama, Musashi and Spishtar? They could still do their jobs just fine. All Ibuki provided was convenient team building at a lower cost because of her typing (Berserker, Arts, Earth niche) but if you liked the others, they still worked.
Why can't gacha games release strong characters without ramping up enemy HP to such an unhealthy degree? It's not like character kits aren't already heavily differentiated from each other. All of them have unique playstyles, teammates and animations and appeal to different people. Not all of us want to play Microsoft Excel Simulator™. Even if one character is released that's strictly better (like M. Blade versus Tribbie in HSR as a generalist support), that doesn't make Tribbie a bad character. They're both in different classes and can still be used in different teams. "Oh boy, two cakes!" is how I like to see it, and the community reaction to M. Blade's release has been largely the same because of his versatility and ability to bring back older characters into the meta.
When enemy HP doesn't go up, that allows older characters to keep being playable.
Because she fulfills the intended role of a Tactic character perfectly (a purely off-field sub-DPS with utility) instead of how our current lineup with limited SSR Tactics are designed.
Aizen, Nel, Soi Fon and White Ichigo are basically secondary main DPS's who demand just as much, if not more (Nel and Soi Fon especially) field time than the actual main DPS of their teams. And it's obvious from their boundaries that they're also intended to act as Full Assault replacements upon achieving certain boundary breakpoints (B4 for Aizen, B2 for Nel, B0/2 for W. Ichigo) but it also dilutes the team roles by doing so and devalues Full Assaults in general.
You only need to swap into Rukia every so often just to cast her Skill, which really is just to build her Ultimate gauge, which itself deals sustained off-field damage over a long duration. She has some universal damage buffs and has so much defensive utility via Freeze and healing. If not for Aizen's strictly better numbers, she would be the best Tactic for Toshiro and I remember playing the heck out of this duo at launch because of how fantastic their synergy is. Her Freeze is so useful for easily interruptible characters too, like B. Ichigo and Kenpachi. Shame she's just a SR which severely limits her damage ceiling.
If BSR releases a future Tactic character, I hope they design them like Rukia and not Aizen/Nel/Soi Fon/W. Ichigo.
Bruh I can't play this game in public, I just wanted to get clear Arena flags and I'm on the bus and had many weird looks because the art is too lewd.
Took a 1-2 year break from Genshin, and grinded primos to pull for Hex teams since Varka's release. I don't really want to split up Varka's team and want to use Lohen on the 2nd Abyss side. I know it's not optimal because Nicole + Durin are BiS but as long as it's good enough to 36 star clear I'm fine with it (managed to do it with Varka Premium + cope Kinich Burn with Nahida, Thoma and Bennett this time but it's more for future Abyss rotations).
My hypothetical team build:
Or should I go for Golden Troupe on Furina and Escoffier? I hear it's only worth building damage if I can get super cracked subs which I don't have on GT for them.
My other team options:
I see Lohen + double Geo works well too, I could potentially split up Durin to run Lohen + Durin + Albedo C1 + Xilonen, then use Bennett on the Varka team.
Stop glazing his B4, please. I take a shot everytime I see B4 Aizen mentioned in this sub and now I'm in the hospital for alcohol poisoning.
Alright let's do a sub-wide test for what seed your account is for the 100 ML summons.
For background for those who don't know, it's highly likely that your chances of getting a free ML5 (and which ML5) are completely predetermined based on your account itself.
Day 1 (in order): ALots, Inferno Khawazu, W Schuri, Gunther, Elson
"I don't like Szayel" okay have fun with just Momo. Pity carries over, you literally have nothing to lose.
Just wipe his HSR kit. Give him his FGO kit while they're at it.
