I sincerely hope none of them are in relationships because yikes

I guess the good news is this take was so awful even the pro AI users were clowning on this post. At least most of them. But the fact that this mindset exists at all is pretty horrific. Now AI isn't just destroying the environment, it's literally eroding people's morality.

Why does my 2010 I4 sound like a tractor?

2010 Venza 2.7L I4 AWD. The video is a couple months old but it still makes this noise. The best way I can describe the sound is a tractor-like rattle, kind of a repetitive, clattery noise. It is most noticeable at idle, and doesn't really seem to get worse with acceleration. I just barely changed the oil and added some stop leak stabilizer as well. And it still makes this noise. It has been doing it for at least a year, maybe two. There are no warning lights or anything, and all systems work as they should. I'm just wondering if I need to be concerned, or if it's old engine stuff. The car is just about to roll over 270k miles so I don't really think it's worth obsessing over and throwing tons of money at. But if I can save myself a big problem in the future by replacing something now, I'd much rather do that.

I'm mainly thinking it's either the valve train or maybe the AC pulley. If the AC pulley goes bad, could it affect the rest of the serpentine belt or would the ac just stop working?

Review of the M4s (& WC Freeze pads) from someone with hearing aids

I got these from clearance at best buy for $199 a week or so ago. So far I really like them. I'm by no means an audiophile (yet lol, I've already ordered KZ IEMs and a USB c to 3.5 dac) but I do have unique circumstances so I thought I'd share my experience in case it helps anyone else like me.

I have extreme hearing loss, I have ever since I was in elementary school. It got worse for a couple years and then thankfully started to hold the same level around the end of middle school. So I have to wear fairly powerful hearing aids to restore my hearing. They sit over the back of my ears and have a couple mics on top to pick up noise. Because of this positioning, most headphones cause squealing feedback when I put them on, as the cups sit too close to the mics, or there is not enough depth for the drivers to sit away from my ears, causing my hearing aids to be pressed into my ears.

So for most of my life I've been using earbuds to listen to music. To do that, though, I have to take out my hearing aids, meaning I lose a lot of clarity in music, especially in vocals and highs. When I tried listening to music on my over ear gaming headset, I noticed that even though there was much less bass and range to the music, I could hear vocals so much better. Because of that I decided to get over-ears dedicated to music and see how I liked them. I originally saw Sony WH1000XM5 on clearance at Best Buy for $250 and almost pulled the trigger before noticing the M4s for $199. After looking up some comparisons I decided to go with the M4s for better battery life, better durability, and to save $50.

These are the first headphones I've put on that didn't immediately cause squealing feedback. There was still some, but by adjusting the cups on my head I could almost get rid of it. I did still have to turn my hearing aid volume down a little to compensate for ringing from high notes in my music, but that's not hard to do. After wearing them a couple times I noticed my jaw muscles would hurt from the clamping force of the cups, and my ears were starting to touch the fabric over the drivers. I'm sure with a little more use they would have gotten more comfortable, but I decided to get some wicked cushions memory foam cups and see if they would help. And they are such a massive difference in comfort. My jaw muscles don't get crushed, and my ears and hearing aids have so much more space. Even though the pads aren't that much thicker, the design and the foam type helps keep more open space. I didn't notice much of a sound difference except maybe a tiny bit less bass, but they're comfortable enough that I don't mind the trade off. Plus the firmware update a few days ago seemed to add back even more low end detail so I still get plenty of bass. The best part is that there's virtually no feedback in my hearing aids unless a song gets super high. Even then, it doesn't echo around and feedback loop itself like some other headphones do.

Overall they sound absolutely amazing to me. The amount of clarity I get is just astonishing. For the first time in my life I can listen to a new song and understand the lyrics rather than having to look them up and follow along. I can hear more instruments and the texture involved in them, like guitar strings scraping, different drum types, even singers breathing in some songs. I think if anyone is looking for the best sounding over ears, you'd be hard pressed to find something better for the $200-220 they are going for lately. The ANC on the other hand isn't great, but I wasn't really concerned about having it anyways, it's just a nice bonus. It does block out sound, but struggles with sudden loud noises like things being dropped or dogs barking. The battery life is phenomenal, I charged them once when I opened them and haven't charged them for two weeks, mostly with anc on, and they're still at almost 40 percent. I also like the clean minimalist design and the carrying case that holds all the accessories you might need.

I've enjoyed them so far, and if any other people with hearing loss are looking for good headphones or good ear pads, I can recommend both the M4s and the Wicked Cushions Freeze pads.

How does this pose look?

I'm drawing a picture of a girl laying on the floor/her bed (not decided on that yet) and talking to someone on the phone. I used posemyart as a reference to sketch out the pose. I'm just wondering if it looks realistic and proportionate enough, and if I should continue with the drawing. I feel like it looks pretty good and close to the reference, I just thought I'd see if fresh eyes can spot anything. First one is my sketch, the second is a screenshot of my reference pose.

I think I hit the silicon lottery with my new 9070

(First score is stock settings, second is after I overclocked)

I have had my AsRock Steel Legend RX 9070 for a few weeks now, and I've been pretty happy with it. It looks great, runs super quiet, and gives me great 1440p performance in the games I've tried so far. Today I decided I would try and give it an overclock, because I've never manually overclocked a gpu before and wanted to try it. After looking up a little bit of info on what to do, I started incrementally adjusting the settings in between runs of Steel Nomad. Reddit posts and forums were saying they were hitting about -65mV on their 9070s, and between 200 and 300 MHz offset. After a few runs I had the vram upped to 2700, and going much over that would cause the benchmark to crash before running. Plus, the vram didn't go over about 2680 even if the setting was higher, so I left it there and moved on to the other stuff. Once I got to -65mV and +225MHz, I was getting scores around 6,870. I was about ready to call it good, but then I thought why not try and see how far I can push the card. It wasn't getting hot at all, no matter how much power limit I threw at it. So I cranked the power limit all the way up and just kept lowering the voltage and boosting the clock. And it just kept going. I was sitting there doing smaller and smaller adjustments because I was afraid something would crash spectacularly and I'd have to reset my bios or something. Eventually I went to -130mV and the benchmark crashed as soon as it loaded in, so I dialed that back. I kept bumping up the offset until the fps started dipping. In the end, I increased my score by nearly 1000 points just by spending some time using the free tuning inside Radeon software. I haven't tried many games yet, but the Cyberpunk benchmark jumped from about 70 fps on nearly maxed settings (with fsr4 quality) to nearly 90. Everything still seems to run smoothly, which I was not expecting for how far I pushed this card. Based on 3Dmark scores, I'm now within spitting distance of the average performance of a 9070 XT. Insane.

And no, this wasn't with any special equipment, either. No secondary psu, no liquid cooling, no ACs blowing right into the card. It's just the stock air cooler running inside my case with all the panels and filters still on it. I just thought it was a really crazy result and wanted to share.

Should I bite the bullet and get 32gb of RAM or wait (possibly years) for prices to lower?

I just gave my system an overhaul for the first time since I bought it, and I decided to jump to AM5. Because costs are so high, I bought the cheapest decent ddr5 I could find, a 1x16gb stick of Patriot Viper 6000mhz CL30. It came out to about $170 after a coupon I had. However, I would like to have more RAM, mainly for the aesthetic and performance headroom. I don't think I'm running out of ram in most of my games, but I just started playing Planet Zoo and I've seen people say that as your game files grow you need more ram. I'm also in engineering school and will probably need to start doing 3d modeling and renders at some point soon. I found a 32gb kit of V-Color Manta RGB ddr5 6000mhz CL30 that would be $390, which PcPartPicker says is pretty much the cheapest kit of that spec. Plus, they're white so it would match my build. So I was thinking I'd buy them, then once they arrive I'd return my single 16gb stick.

What do you think I should do? It's not a purely logical decision to spend twice as much money on ram I don't strictly need at the moment, but I've been hearing that ram prices are likely to get even worse so maybe I should just go ahead and buy it now.

I'm sorry, FORTY-ONE PLANTS?!

How are you genuinely going to ask someone to find, buy, and load 41 individual plants into their own car and deliver them all the way to your house and then only pay $25? Honestly why would you even get plants delivered? They could tip over, get crushed, torn, the person could pick dying plants, etc. Also, there's no way the store is going to have all 41!

Finally got the (mostly) white aesthetic I've always wanted

The whole journey started with wanting a simple GPU upgrade... I had bought a 1440P MiniLED monitor on clearance from Best Buy, and my RX 6600 wasn't quite cutting it. I was literally about to pull the trigger on an RX 7800 XT on eBay when my motherboard decided to commit hari-kari. I spent a full day trying to fix it but came to the conclusion something got fried. Luckily none of my other components were damaged, but at that point I was starting to consider jumping to AM5. I found an "open box" Strix B850 on eBay for $100 and jumped on it. After that I snagged a Ryzen 7 7700x for $200 and an RX 9070 Steel Legend for $600 during Prime Day. I bought the cheapest 16gb of ddr5 6000 I could find, which came out to about $170. I will probably switch that out for a 32 GB kit, because I've heard ram may get even more expensive before it gets cheaper. To save some money, I kept my EVGA PSU, tower cooler, and my Corsair case, which I spent nearly a week custom painting to match my new components. I had also been doing some decorating work in the background, like getting a new desk and installing a pegboard and monitor arms.

Lo and behold, when I went to assemble my new PC, I had the same symptoms as my dead motherboard. I drove myself crazy for over 6 hours trying to make the stupid motherboard work. Unfortunately, it was DOA and nothing I did fixed it. It wasn't even open box either, it was clearly used. The eBay seller ghosted me when I told them, and after waiting two days for a response I just opened a return. By this point I was absolutely done with motherboard problems, so I shed a tear for my wallet and bought a brand new Strix board from Amazon, because it had same day shipping and was only about $50 more than the cheapest white am5 boards. Luckily, the new board works great and I got everything assembled. I'm still getting my games installed but I think the build looks beautiful. The monitor is also stunning, especially with HDR on.

The last photo is my very first setup, which I built about four years ago. It was sitting on half of a trashy used glass desk I got from an office sale. I think it's certainly come a long way!

ROG Strix B850-A PC build not turning on

Hey everyone, so I finally got around to putting together my new system today. I was excited but I made sure to take my time and do everything right. The issue I have is that the motherboard rgb lights up, but the pc won't turn on, I'm talking zero signs of life besides the motherboard rgb. Here's the part list in case it helps:

\- Ryzen 7 7700x (brand new)

\- Asus ROG Strix B850-A Gaming Wifi (open box from eBay, most suspect part)

\- Asrock Radeon Rx 9070 (brand new)

\- 1x16gb Patriot Viper DDR5 6000 (brand new)

\- EVGA Supernova 650GA (about 4 years old)

\- Corsair icue 220t RGB, 3x icue RGB fans

\- asiahorse cable extensions

So the thing is, almost everything in this PC is brand new and I highly doubt any of the new stuff would be the problem. My power supply also should have plenty of wattage for the system and it powered my old system fine. I've also tried using a different power supply that I know works and it didn't change anything. After getting it assembled, when I turned the power supply on, I noticed the RGB on the motherboard turned on. However, when I went to turn the PC on, nothing happened at all. No fans moving, no debug lights, no beeps, etc. At first I thought I had the front panel plugs flipped so I turned them around. Still nothing. I tried jumping the pins with a screwdriver. No changes. I tried all the rest of these things as well, to no avail: reseating all cables, reseating the ram, taking the GPU out, resetting the cmos, removing and replacing cmos battery, unplugging all the fans, unplugging all USB devices, unplugging the display, unplugging Ethernet and wifi, taking off cable extensions, using a different power supply, taking out one of the SSDs, taking the motherboard out of the case and trying it on a box, and finally, trying to update the BIOS (which didn't work even after two different USB drives, multiple formats, partitions, and bios versions. The bios flashback light would turn on, but stayed solid instead of flashing like it was supposed to.)

I bought the motherboard as open box from eBay as it was a really good deal I didn't want to pass up. It specifically said it would be in like new condition, with all original accessories. However, when it arrived, I first noticed the box was very beat up. Not a problem but not confidence inspiring. When I took it out, I noticed a few very minor scratches on the left edge of the PCB, as well as scratches on the heatsink, GPU clip, and RGB piece. Most significant, the board did not have the stock plastic cpu cooler brackets, and most of the SSD thermal pad peels were removed. I told the seller about this and they gave me a small partial refund, which I was satisfied with. I noticed that they also had listings for the same board, but in broken condition. And now I wonder if maybe they sent me a broken board instead of a working one. But I digress.

I just want to get my system up and working, and I'm at the end of my rope here. I stayed up until 5 am last night trying to get something to happen and nothing will. I'm just hoping maybe I missed something, so that I don't have to wait to get a refund and buy a new board, or wait for a replacement, or what have you. Is the board cooked? The whole reason I upgraded in the first place is because my old motherboard died. I'm just so frustrated and I feel like I'm losing my mind here.

1x16GB DDR5-6000 or 1x24GB DDR5-7200 for $80 more?

I am overhauling my rig, and I have already purchased all the new components, though I'm still waiting on my RAM to arrive. Because I'm working with somewhat of a budget, and ram prices are more inflated than the ego of a Wall Street day trader, I went for the cheapest 16gb of ram I could get, which ended up being a 1x16 gb kit of Patriot Viper DDR5-6000 CL30 ram for $170. I would like to have more ram, because my rig before this had 16gb of ddr4. I never really strictly needed more than that, but it would just be nice for my new setup to be better and have headroom for the future. However, today I found a stick of SiliconPower CycloneRGB 1x24gb DDR5-7200 CL36 for $250. It would be 50% more capacity for just slightly under 50% more money. It also has RGB which is a nice touch. The issue is that I don't know how well the 24gb stick would work with my system. I bought a Ryzen 7 7700x and an ROG Strix b850 motherboard. I've heard 6000 is the best for Ryzen and so I'd probably have to down clock the 24gb if I had it. In that case though, it would mean I'd effectively have a 6000mhz stick with looser CL36 timing. I'm not sure what effects that would have on performance. The other thing is that the product page for SiliconPower doesn't mention anywhere if it supports EXPO, it only mentions Intel XMP.

Is it worth it to return the 16gb stick and pay $80 more for a 24gb stick that could potentially have compatibility issues with my setup? Would the extra capacity make up for having looser timings? Is there a third option I've been overlooking? Thanks for your advice.
