Been wanting a meteorite dial, any owners of this piece here?

I put a deposit down on this piece. My Rolex AD said he’d get me a meteor Daytona but it’s taken longer than he anticipated. The reason I wanted to go with the Daytona is I have multiple Speedys already but I’ve been on the line about this price since it was announced and am thinking of just going for it.

I love that it has a moon phase complication and I’m very much an aviation/space nerd.

What do those who own this price think of it?

My SOTC. Been working on exploring brands outside of Rolex and Omega this year.

Having fun experimenting with some new brands this year. Added an IWC, a couple of TAGs, and leveled up with the VC Dual Time.

Noob question. Does the Dual Time have any resistance while winding?

Pretty new to the VC world so sorry for the noob question. After collecting Omega and Rolex for years, I took the plunge on a 4520 a couple of months ago and just traded it towards the 7920.

The 7920 feels like it has 0 resistance while winding. It’s keeping time well and all of the complications are working as expected but it winds as smooth as a skateboard wheel and never really resists. Is that normal for the Dual Time?

I bought the watch from a very reputable dealer. It was dated July 2026, had stickers, and registered on the VC with no problem. I’m not concerned about authenticity or anything, just want to make sure it’s par for the course before I get too far from my purchase date.

Thanks all!

My Rolex AD offered me this piece, not sure I can wrap my head around it.

My Rolex AD also sells Patek and texted me today to see if I was interested in this piece. I just picked up a Vacheron Dual Time and wasn't particularly looking at getting a Patek any time soon, nor am I interested in the Aquanaut or Nautilus (was looking at the Pilot Travel Time with cream dial earlier this year).

What's the general consensus on the 5227G now that I'm dipping my toe into trinity waters and it's been out for a few months?

Picked up an Aquaracer over the weekend. After years of collecting mechanical watches, I’m loving the grab and go aspect of quartz.

Was doing some watch shopping in Vegas. Almost bought the new Aston Martin Breitling then came across this and fell in love. What do I need to know?!

Title says it all. Saw this in person and kind of fell in love. I have a lot of watches at this point, mostly Rolex and Omega, and am committing this year to diversifying brands.

Is it worth picking up at a boutique? Tax would save me a bit over buying back home in Los Angeles.

Does the boutique offer any additional goodies?

Thanks in advance.

Underwhelming Retail Experience

It's me again. Thanks for everyone's help so far on my decision to upgrade from an Overseas to a Dual Time.

I went ahead and called my local boutique last week to place my interest for a DT. That day they sent me a link to put a 40% deposit on the watch. The receipt had no mention of the DT, just confirmation of the deposit and the amount.

Since then, there has been zero communication and when I went into the boutique to see if I could try the piece on, they didn't have one (not a big deal).

I ended up calling another boutique in my area to see if they had one to try one, they said yes. When I gave them my info, they said they didn't see my name registered for the DT, just a Cardinal Point I had inquired about online.

I called the boutique where I did place the deposit to ask about lead time and he said 4-6 months. Now I'm trying to see why I was asked to place a deposit 6 months in advance.

This whole process has been anything but a good experience and I'm starting to worry that if this is what buying a watch is like, what would servicing the watch be like?

Considering just taking my $15k deposit back and putting it into another brand at this point.

Thoughts?
