OG...to me.
Today I'm wearing the OG. This was my very first Duro that started it all for me. I got this one from my wife a few years ago (4 I think).. Since then, I purchased >20 additional Duros. I gave some to friends/family as gifts, and kept about 14 for myself.
Modding the Duro turned into a watch obsession that now includes assembling my own watches complete with my own custom logo.
I owe it all to the OG, to me, Duro Batman!
Never disappoints!
Every time i wear this watch it never disappoints !
LIW Crystal and Oyster bracelet.
Chamfering help
Many the watch cases/clasps I get off alix could benefit from some chamfering to reduce the sharpness of the edges. I'm tired of trying to do that by hand and want to try using my battery Dremel. Does anyone else a dremel and if so could you recommend a good bit and process your found to work?
12-Hour little brother
My attempt at the 12 hour little brother to the Rolex GMT Master II.
VPN Client on M9 system?
A friend of mine has a Deco M9 system and wants to setup an outbound VPN to protect devices inside his network when they access the internet. Meaning, the Deco is a VPN client. I'm not familiar with the Deco line of products so I'm asking if this is even possible and if there's a decent setup guide/video to configure it?
I'm an IT guy coming from the Unifi world so I just need a few hints to get this going (if possible).
EDIT: Found this: How To Add Express VPN To Deco [Step By Step Guide]
Murdered Marlin and Phillies
Sigh.... rough start for Nola and the Phils tonight... but at least I got a great watch on....(and cigar and glass of Jim beam!)
Dial visualization
Is there any sort of app/website that let's you visualize watch dials of different colors indices and hands? Sometimes it might be nice to see a concept onscreen before buying everything.
Green for the evening!
Haven't worn this guy in a few months so it was time! Got some pretty cool sun reflection on the bezel.
K22 grease
Does anyone else put a super thin layer of k22 on the crown stem?
WOTE
watch of the evening! It's not a GMT .... the diver bezel is en-route but I couldn't wait to post a Pic.
PSA Mission BBQ (OUTSTANING)
We hired Mission BBQ to cater our daughter's wedding the weekend of July 18th. The food was unbelievably good! Pulled pork, chicken, salmon, green beans, potato salad, salad, bread, cornbread. We received a ton of complements on how delicious the food was! And we paid to feed 145 guests... Mission provided enough food to feed 2-3x times that. We took a ton home and were able to share it all with friends and family.
They even ask to identify Military members and move them to the front of the buffet line. Classy.
I can't recommend them highly enough. Mission accomplished!
PSA: Barmasters (terrible)
Our daughter was married the weekend of July 18th. We paid for TWO bartenders which includes things like cups, pour spouts, and ice buckets, and UP TO 5 BACKUP bartenders. 90 minutes before the start of the ceremony, they sent a text to my wife stating one of the bartenders couldn't make it due an emergency. My wife is the mother-of-the bride and wasn't monitoring her phone. We had a paid agreement with a business that seemed to have all of the details covered. We found out the problem when the one bartender arrived and told us the issue.
That poor girl was SLAMMED and we had to have our own certified (ServSafe & certified bartender) family members step in to help when they should have been enjoying themselves. Our DJ had to run to the store to purchase more cups to ensure we didn't run out. "Barmasters" is full of shit when they say they claim to have backups (it's in the contract and part of their formal ad campaign). They told us they reached out to a 50 mile radius of people and no one replied. I guess that alone says a lot about their service and business model.
We'll never use, or recommend them again. I'm sure others have had fantastic experiences, but this was a mess and I'm extremely unhappy with how they are handling it and still wiating on a refund.
If you're thinking about using them, beware!
[Zone 7A] Clover in thick established lawn
My lawn is generally really good shape. Using Lesco products for preemergent...fertlizer... bug control... post emergent...my biggest issue is clover in a certain section of my lawn. What's the best way to treat it without killing the lawn considering the Lesco line of products I'm using?...
Yachaty Bourbon build
Can't get the bracelet clasp to snap in properly but so far I'm digging this one.
Un-Hydro MDV-106-7A
This is one of my un-hydromodded Duro's. I had 12-14 (lost count) Duro's that were Hydromodded. I LOVE the look... What I didn't like was the more-frequent-than-expected battery replacement. Typical battery life in a Duro is 3+ years.
When Hydromodded, even the best batteries only lasted 10-14 months. I almost always developed a bubble during battery replacement and that started to drive me nuts.
YES I could replace the battery while the watch is 100% submerged in oil during the replacement but even that would be a messy PITA with as many Duros as I have.
Going forward, the only watches I will hydro are solar and/or digital watches where the battery life is not impacted by moving hands.
