The showtimes for my local Cineworld have been updated and yet again they aren’t showing a movie that they’ve been showing a trailer campaign for.
This has happened several times in the last year and, frankly, I think it’s ridiculous.
Is anyone else tired of this happening?
I’m currently listening to the Jurassic Park audiobook and it gave me pause. The film is fantastic, but what I’m finding so far is that it’s so much different than the book. The book is eerie and mysterious, it’s more science-based, it paints Hammond almost as a villain that is covering up deaths and danger.
It got me thinking that the novel really deserves a high-budget TV version that could give it the faithful adaptation it deserves.
We could see more of the looming threat that Hammon and Co have wrought on the surrounding area. We could see more of the more savage events that were excluded from the films. It could be more adult and horror-focused.
Thoughts? Obviously I don’t think it’s likely to ever happen. It would get called unnecessary and painted with the remake brush of “you can’t replace the fiiiiilms”.
