Tonight was night 2 of being on stocking 2. It’s already not going well.

The TL working with us rode my ass constantly. He had to correct me constantly and didn’t seem to understand that I didn’t know anything because I’ve worked a grand total of two shifts. I couldn’t do anything fast enough, couldn’t read his mind to know what to do. He kept saying these boxes should take five minutes, these should take fifteen minutes, this is how you do a hundred boxes in an hour. And when other people on the team got chewed out they were pissed at me cuz I guess that was my fault too. I feel like I was being held to the standard of someone who’d been there two months or two years not two days.

I can already tell they’re gonna fire me. I was hoping this could be a long term thing until the economy rebounds but it’s already not working out.

Does casting [[Bilbo’s Gambit]] with the gift promised on something that creates a cast trigger like [[Etali, Primal Conqueror]] or something with cascade or discover prevent that from extra spell from being cast?

There’s been a number of troll posts lately that have completely missed the point of what the sub is for.

The entire point, from day one, has been about fantasy. If you were to pay even the slightest bit of attention to what’s going on here you’d see that not only are the standards set unrealistic but the actual people, both girlfriends and boyfriends, aren’t even actual people. They’re stereotypes. Stereotypes meant to elicit a feeling in the viewer. The entire idea here is fantasy and escapism.

If you want a “realistic” girlfailure gf who neglects her hygiene and is probably completely unlikable, that’s great and I support your right to post that. But positioning yourself as “pushing back” against unrealistic depictions of what a “girlfailure” is, again, completely misses the point of the sub. That unrealistic depiction is the point. The sub is unrealistic. It’s a fantasy. A bit of escapism for people who can’t, won’t, or just don’t date.

I ask that you allow the sub to be the way that it is. Let unrealistic gfs be unrealistic. It’s not hurting anything. They’re just memes. Nobody actually thinks catgirl gfs or robot gfs are real (yet).

Our power bill over here on Wrightsboro rd was around 300 in June, 600 in July, and now our Augusta bill had dropped and it 900 motherfucking dollars.

What the fuck is going on here? Surely there’s something wrong with this.

I recently accepted a job offer for a daytime stocking job here at my local Wally World. It’s 2-11 full time (I think that’s Cap 2?). I was pretty excited tbh because it’s not a restaurant and the guy who interviewed me said we get to wear an earbud while we work. Perfect! That’s what I was looking for. I have ADHD so I need that distraction. 😭

But then I started reading this sub and now I’m starting to get anxiety about it. The big thing is people getting in trouble for speed. I’ve been told I’m slow during my entire 10+ years in food service. I will stick out a task to the end every time. I’ll do it consistently, the same exact method every time. But it’s never fast enough for these people. Am I about to scrub out? Otherwise I’m a great fit for the job because I don’t leave half-assed tasks and I can be trusted to work solo.

Isn’t this weird? To my knowledge, Magic: The Gathering (MTGO, Magic Arena) and Yu-Gi-Oh! (Master Duel) are the only big TCGs with official simulators. I’ve been following the recent bangers like Digimon and One Piece but from what I’ve seen Toei and Bandai aren’t even considering official online platforms. Ditto for the newest League of Legends TCG which I guess won’t ever be online because of the old digital-only game. Which is dumb.

I know there’s one for Pokemon but it’s so mid and an afterthought (just like everything competitive when it comes to Pokemon-Nintendo hates competitive or even just challenging yourself like speedrunning).

I wish this was different. I play a ton of Arena and kind of want another TCG in my rotation.

edit: I’m not really a fan of digital only games like Hearthstone.

I got a job offer from Wal-Mart today. It’s a stocking job, exactly what I was looking for. I have ADHD so I’ll be happier at a place where I can put an earbud in and have something to listen to. And you know I’m kind of just sick of shitty restaurants. I’m sick of being trapped in such a small building with no way to put space between me and everyone else’s shitty attitude.

So I got out. Pray for me that I stay out.

When I lost my job back in October I decided to lean toward getting a dishwasher job since I like to be left alone and I thought getting another prep job would be more difficult. I eventually did get a job as a busser but with the caveat that I was trying to get back to BOH. Eventually I got that chance one random Sunday night when they’d finally had enough with one of the other dishies.

But now I regret it.

It would be great if we always had people but it seems I need to have the skill to do it all by myself and I just don’t. It’s very frustrating washing two plates then the machine stops because the conveyor’s full. Then clearing that out, washing two more plates, then there’s a full rack. Over and over all day. And I’m expected to excel in this situation. It’s not enough that I can get by. No I should be able to handle this, bag pasta and veggies, and never get backed up so the guy coming in 40 minutes late for dinner doesn’t need help getting caught up. On Sunday lunch.

I don’t even get to put one of my earbuds in to help me lock in. But I guess that’s going out of style these days.

The job search continues. I admit defeat. I try my best to do a good job but I just come up short unfortunately.
