Q: Please give us your overall thoughts on the match.

Tom: We lost 3–1 today. I think there were some areas where my preparation was lacking, and in-game, we weren’t able to capitalize well on the points we had worked on during the six days of preparation.

Faker: Overall, I don’t think our team movements or the way we set up fights played out the way we had expected, so it was a disappointing loss.

Q: I have a question for the acting head coach. You mentioned that there were some areas where the team’s preparation was lacking today. Could you explain specifically what you felt was lacking?

Tom: When we were ahead around objectives, our buildup wasn’t very good. That was one issue. And in the final game, I also think our composition made things very difficult for us.

Q: You picked Tahm-Jinx today, but it was a composition that hardly appeared at all during the regular season. Could you explain the reasoning behind the draft?

Tom: As the series went on, there weren’t many bot-lane picks left available. We gave them Xayah-Rakan, and when we thought about what we could play into that, we ended up going with Jinx-Tahm Kench.

Q: Looking back at today’s match, especially the Game 4 draft, what do you think was disappointing about the draft, and how do you plan to address it?”

Tom: With the current patch and meta, there are fewer top-lane champions that are comfortable to blind-pick. As the series went on, we weren’t able to find enough good picks in that area. And in the final game, I think our composition was also very difficult to play into Cho’Gath.

Q: I also have a question for the acting head coach. About 11 days ago, you faced HLE  once in the second round of the playoffs and played a full five-game series.

Looking back at that match, what did you think needed to change in order to get a better result today? And what changes did you actually make, whether in draft or in-game strategy? If you could explain that in a bit more detail, please.

Tom: I think HLE are very good at snowballing the game when they have early priority, especially with Kanavi leading the way.

So after our previous match ended, when preparing to face Hanwha Life again, we focused a lot on that aspect.

Q: I have a question for Faker. You’ve continued playing through the playoffs, and you’ll also be heading to Worlds. How do you view the experience from this playoff run, and how do you plan to reset and show a better performance at Worlds?

Faker: Personally, I’m very disappointed that I wasn’t able to show a complete performance during this playoff run. For Worlds, I think I’ll be able to prepare better, so I want to do my absolute best and show a really strong performance there.

And because of today’s loss, I think we learned a lot about what our team is lacking and what we need to improve. I’ll work hard so that we can perform better at Worlds based on what we learned from these playoffs.

Q: I also have a question for Faker. Looking at Games 1 and 2 together, T1 did a really good job securing the first two dragons, but around the third dragon, it felt like Hanwha Life started turning the games around. Looking at the overall game plan across the series today, why do you think T1 started giving up control to Hanwha Life around the third dragon?

Faker: In Games 1 and 2, we were able to take the lead in the early game the way we had prepared. But after that, I think we ended up losing advantages because of a combination of issues, including a lack of coordinated team movement and individual mistakes.

Q: I think this year has generally been one in which T1 hasn’t achieved the results it wanted. That could also affect the players’ morale. With Worlds coming up, how would you assess the players’ morale right now? And if you think these results could have a negative impact, how do you plan to respond?

Tom: We haven’t achieved particularly good results so far this year, but I think the atmosphere within the team is still very good.

Rather than focusing too much on those results, I think we should keep giving each other feedback on how we can improve in-game, communicate well with one another, and prepare properly for Worlds.

Q: I’d like to ask the acting head coach a question. T1’s LCK season has now ended for this year, and I noticed that the last time T1 won the LCK was in 2022. So it’s been four years, and since this year also ended without a title, even if you win next year, it would be your first LCK championship in five years. 

Because T1 have continued to win Worlds during that time, I think this issue has been somewhat overshadowed. Could you briefly explain why T1 have continued to struggle in the LCK?

Tom: From 2023 through 2026, we haven’t been able to win the LCK for four years. I think in each of those moments, there were areas where we were lacking, and there were also a few times when we became complacent. I think those kinds of things are why we weren’t able to achieve better results.

Faker: I don’t think there’s really anything more to add.
