Q1: Congratulations on today’s win. First, could you give us your overall thoughts on the match? 

Lord Morgan: Yes. We came down from the loser’s bracket today, and thankfully we won 3–0, so I’m relieved that we were able to advance to the next round. But since we have another match right away tomorrow, we’ll prepare well and make sure to win.

Q2: The loss to T1 last time was a bit disappointing. What kind of feedback did you share afterward? 

Lord Morgan: We had games where we were very ahead, and there were many situations where we were in a favorable position. But we couldn’t really snowball those advantages properly, so we went back together and talked about that. Today, we tried to pay as much attention to those things as possible, but even so, there were still some lacking points. So we’ll go back, talk about those things together, and prepare well for tomorrow.

Q3: What kind of strategy did you prepare today? 

Lord Morgan: Since we didn’t really have much data on each other, we prepared with the idea of creating our own game. There were parts where that worked well, but there were also a lot of moments where we missed things. That part is disappointing, but I’m still relieved that we won.

Q4: You’ve played two matches now, around six sets. What parts of your performance are you most satisfied with, and what parts are you dissatisfied with? 

Lord Morgan: From a top laner’s perspective, in the process of playing the game, I don’t think I ever really started in an uncomfortable position from the early stages. So I think that part went well. The part that’s a bit disappointing is that when the game flowed well for us, we weren’t able to create many good moments from that. That’s the part I feel was a little disappointing.

Q5: Today, in Game 2, you played Twisted Fate, and it feels like you’ve returned from North America having grown a lot mechanically. How did you feel about your own performance today?

 Lord Morgan: TF was a pick I had prepared, but here and there, I couldn’t pull the right card, so that part was a bit disappointing today. Still, I think I played it well and had fun.

Q6: In Game 3, your team also used Shyvana jungle. Could you talk about the background behind that? 

Lord Morgan: Our jungler, Josedeodo, likes those kinds of picks and is good at them. It also looked fine during practice. So as we discussed those things, the pick ended up coming out, and I think he played it well.

Q7: The Play-In structure is one where only one out of four teams advances. As a player, how do you view that, and do you feel pressure? 

Lord Morgan: Rather than pressure, a lot of people basically think it’s almost a foregone conclusion that T1 will advance. There are parts of that which we agree with too. But at the same time, if we could change that, I think it would be really fun. That feeling is honestly bigger. So rather than pressure, we’re playing with the expectation that if we actually advance, it would create a really fun situation.

Q8: T1 beat Karmine Corp 3–0 today too. Of course, from Liquid’s perspective, you have to beat Karmine Corp first before you can meet T1 again, but if you do meet them again, what do you think is most necessary?

 Lord Morgan: We played against T1 yesterday, but I definitely think there were games we could have won. So if we win tomorrow and face T1 again, I think we need to bring those parts back as much as possible.

Q9: You watched today’s T1 match, right? How did you see it? Could you evaluate Karmine Corp as well? You’ve been watching both Karmine Corp and T1. 

Lord Morgan: Yes, I watched it right away. When I watch both Karmine Corp and T1, there’s something like, how should I put it, they’re definitely fun to watch. Even when I’m watching them as an opposing team, there are so many moments where I think, “Wow, they do it like that?” or “They go this far here?” 

So I think they’re teams that are really fun to watch. Karmine Corp also had a lot of advantageous moments when we watched the game together, and they’re a team that’s good at snowballing those situations. So if we prepare well, I want to win tomorrow and then face T1 again. We’ll make sure to win tomorrow.

Q10: Since you’re playing against T1 again, it must remind you of the LCK days. How did it feel playing T1 again in Korea after a long time? 

Lord Morgan: It had been almost five years since I faced T1 at an international tournament, so I was definitely looking forward to it. Even though we lost, I think I had a lot of fun playing, and I received energy from the fans too. So I think I played well.

Q11: You returned right away and played an international match in Korea after going to North America. You saw Korean fans again after a long time. How was that?

Lord Morgan: In the LCS, there aren’t that many familiar faces among the fans. So seeing that made me think, “I miss Korean fans too.” But today, seeing so many fans’ faces again brought back memories, and I was really touched.

Q12: This is also your first international tournament in a long time, five years, right? And for the team, it’s also an important tournament involving LCS pride. What do you want to prove?

 Lord Morgan: Tomorrow is LEC versus LCS. There’s that aspect too. When I came to the LCS, I think a lot of people had the image that LCS is a little below LCK, or that they lack a lot of strength. So I really want to change those kinds of perceptions a little. I think most import players who come to the LCS probably compete internationally with that kind of thought. This time, I really want to make it happen.

Q13: It’s been about eight months since you challenged yourself in North America, right? This is your first season, so you’ve been adapting in a completely new environment. What has the North American environment been like, and what have you learned from it, both in-game and outside the game?

 Lord Morgan: First, environmentally, the practice environment is really good. Since I’m staying in California, the weather is really nice. In terms of in-game learning, when I first joined, I thought a lot about how to pass on the things I learned at the LCK to the team. Things like how to spread resources, or how to share growth when I’m strong. I think I learned those kinds of things. 

Outside the game, I think things here feel a little more tightly bonded. It feels more like everyone is one family, moving with one mind and one purpose, raising the team’s energy together. I think I learned those things here too. How to raise the energy more, things like “Let’s go,” that kind of thing.

Q14: Your next match is against Karmine Corp, and you’ll be facing Canna, another Korean top laner. How are you preparing? 

Lord Morgan: Canna is also someone I haven’t faced in a long time, and he’s a very good player. So I hope we can have a really enjoyable and fun match. I watched the match earlier too, and whenever I watch Karmine Corp recently, Canna’s form looks really good. I hope we can both show a good top lane matchup.

Q15: Last question: your goal and resolve for MSI, and a message to the Korean fans? 

Lord Morgan: Our goal for this MSI, since LCS Summer starts right away next month, is to go as far as we can. Even if we can’t go all the way, my personal goal is to keep this good atmosphere and performance alive and finish in a good mood. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Korean fans, and I want them to feel, “Morgan is still doing well,” or “He seems to be doing well.” So I'll do my best to keep showing good games.
