😍 Say hello to Mr. Charles (A599335) and Mr. James (A599336). These adorable brothers came into Orange County Animal Services in Orlando, FL as strays. They are 1 year old and weigh 40 lbs. They are extremely fearful but are affectionate and seek comfort from handlers. Mr. Charles is very protective of his brother and they were very stressed kenneled together. Mr. Charles is difficult to leash, but allows full-handling. These boys can go home together or can be separated. They do, however, need kind and patient loving homes where they can learn to trust again. Mr. Charles is currently sharing kennel 03 with Waloo (a spayed female dog) and Mr. James is sharing kennel 19 with an intact male dog.

Mr. Charles and Mr. James can be adopted directly from the shelter. They can also be rescued if they have FOSTERS and PLEDGES‼️

Dozer had been previously adopted from the shelter and returned as a stray. He looks very skinny! He needs a wonderful home where he can get lots of care and love. He is very friendly, easily leashed and easily paired with other dogs. He is currently sharing kennel 05 with Frankie (an intact male dog).

Marshmallow is a sweet senior dog! She loves children and is very gentle with them! She has been easily paired multiple times. The shelter says she seems to prefer male dogs over female dogs, but Marshmallow is currently sharing kennel 36 with Teetee (intact female dog).

Conrad is a friendly boy who has been easily paired with other dogs (he is currently sharing kennel 01 with Apollo - neutered male dog). He is getting stressed out in the kennel and is much happier once he is out in the play yard.

Rosalee is a very sweet girl who keeps getting overlooked because she is housed in the isolation building due to her brachycephalic breed (short-nosed) as the regular kennels are too hot for her. She has previously shared her kennel with another dog but has shown that she prefers to have her people all to herself.

Elfie was brought into the shelter as a stray. Elfie’s finder stated that it took some time for Elfie to warm up to the family but he did very well with their young child. At the shelter, Elfie has been timid. He needs a patient family to show him the way and boost his confidence.

Beautiful Luna was surrendered by her caretaker after her owner went out of state and had trouble returning. She is very timid and insecure at first but walks very nicely on leash without pulling. She is an affection seeker, once she warms up to you and seemed neutral when another spayed female dog was introduced.

Meet Nena!

*Medical deadline of June 29, 2026, if not reclaimed due to medical reasons*

Nena is an 8-year-old dog who came in as a stray into our shelter, but we were able to get in contact with relatives of original owner. They explained that they had rehomed Nena a few weeks ago and the original owner moved out of state. They showed interested in reclaiming the dog but if they fail to do so by EOB 06/28, Nena's medical deadline is 06/29/2026. Dog has a very large, ulcerated mass on mammary chain, suspicious of neoplasia with mild serous discharge.

Her prognosis is guarded to poor. HW negative.

Meet Thunk!

*NEEDS TO FIND RESCUE PLACEMENT BY TOMORROW SUNDAY, JUNE 28 EOB DUE TO MEDICAL REASONS!*

Thunk came in as a stray and it was noted that he suffers from dry eyes, chronic changes to corneas, patchy hair loss (improving), has severely cropped pinnae with improving ear infection and he is brachycephalic.

During rounds it was noted that his abdomen was distended and X-rays were requested.

Findings:

Severe pleural effusion, guarded prognosis.  Will need to see own vet ASAP for further testing and treatment.

Thunk is friendly dog and acts neutral around other dogs when people are present.  However, it seems that he becomes insecure and his body stiffens when he is left alone in a kennel with another dog.  It was noticed that he was bumping into objects while walking, so this might be the cause of his insecurity.

Say hello to Nalah! This beautiful girl was surrendered to OCAS with either her sons or her brothers - due to their owners being unable to care for them. Both boys were adopted, but sweet Nalah was left behind.  Now this poor girl has a deadline of Tuesday, June 30th at 5 pm - and we are hoping you can help her.

Nalah is 6 years young and weighs 90 lbs. She is very affectionate, social and allows full handling.  She may be a bit frightful of men and prefer the company of women.  She is very stressed in the shelter environment and has been losing weight.  It would be wonderful for Nalah to be in a loving and patient home where she can learn to trust again. Nalah can be adopted directly from the shelter, or she can be rescued if someone offers to foster him.

Sadly, not as much as we'd like. You see Wayne was brought in as a stray a few months ago.

Though not very big, Wayne is young, strong, and a little on the shy side. He can be sweet and affectionate, but usually only with people he knows and trusts. We've noticed Wayne in particular warms up faster to women than he does men. He still has a lot of that puppy energy, and he adores being in the yard pools all day long. His first time here, Wayne was quickly adopted, as small and young dogs often are. But less than two weeks later, he was returned. The reason?

Wayne is also excellent with other dogs, and has been given the title of play group rock star. This title is given by our behaviorists to dogs who set the pace during playgroups, are well behaved and actually enjoy their play time with other dogs.

As with all our dogs, if adopted, Wayne will require patience, kindness and consistency. He is young, but he wants to learn, and he listens very well (when a treat is involved). We know in our hearts that for Wayne, a perfect day is a long walk or a dip in a pool, where he can swim and play fetch, followed by a big meal, play time with toys, and then a good snuggle on a soft bed. With his person.

Wayne doesn't need much to be a happy dog; just the right person and the right heart.

💙 Crash A587168: Please meet gorgeous Crash.  He is 2 years-old and 66 lbs.  Crash appears to be a Boxer mix. Crash has shared his kennel with multiple dogs and is currently sharing kennel 30 with Manny A597581 (neutered male dog). He is good with men, women and children. This poor boy was found tethered at an abandoned property and brought to OCAS.  Crash is very anxious and stressed in the shelter environment.  He loves to play hard and would do well with a strong handler. Crash can be adopted directly from the shelter or rescued (if someone offers to foster him).

💙 Atlas** **A592266: Meet gorgeous Atlas. He is 1 year-old and 51 lbs. Puppy Atlas was surrendered to the shelter when his owners had to move. He is super affectionate, allows full-handling and walks well on a leash. Atlas is becoming stressed in the shelter environment and needs a loving family to call his own. Atlas has been paired with another dog in the past and should be able to live comfortably with a canine sibling after decompression and with slow and proper introduction. He is good with men, women and children. He is crate trained, housebroken and loves car rides. Atlas can be adopted directly from the shelter or rescued (if someone offers to foster him).
