I play the guitars, and made the MIDIs (drums, bass, synth). Please have a listen and tell me your honest thoughts, however harsh or positive. I have been in my music echo chamber for a lifetime and could really use some hard truths.
My mother has been writing this book since 2023, and she interviewed many students who are now between the ages of 80 to 104 years old. The interviews involve around 35 of these schools, and the interviewees discuss their experiences with life on the prairies, and what they had to do if they wanted an education (ie. walking several kilometers through harsh weather, wild animals, on horseback, etc). This book as well documents the experiences of being a student, and what school life was like back then.
The interviews and stories are gathered from people who are living in their twilight years, and they were extremely happy to be interviewed and have an important part of their history preserved in this book. My grandmother, who passed away this year, has her quote preserved on the cover of the book; "If you wanted an education, you did what you had to do - you walked through that bush to get it"
It is set to be released October 4, 2026, and can be purchased through the Choiceland SK town office for now. We are looking to get it in bookstores at some point. Currently 400 copies are being printed.
I made this compilation for some friends a few years ago and forgot about it. I tried to connect everything so it is one epic mini-movie.
I was fired suddenly from a gigging cover band I have been with for over a year this weekend after a 3 hour rehearsal. It was handled in a very unprofessional manner as well by the band leader.
I would accept that my time with the band is over, however, I was told I'm expected to play with the band through the 11th, covering 4 remaining shows until their new person can fully commit. Is this normal? I do not really want to spend time around these people after doing this. Would y'all play these remaining shows or not?
Edit: There is no contract clause saying something about continuing after being fired
Edit 2: I am not playing the gigs. Negotiated for some things and still negotiating for others.

1st - When Charlie is talking fast about the girls they hooked up with and mentions that Frank gave him a look that they’d do something with each other.
2nd - Mac telling Dennis about scheme involving crapping in Greg's toilet (also he has a tiny penis, for the record). It's such a ridiculous plan to have him pickup a plunger. "The shit in the toilet, it's not mine".
