I’m recovering from a surgery (I’m ok!) and wanted to share what I wore today that was comfy but still made me feel put together!

I tucked in a black tube top, part of a 3pk I bought a while ago from Shein. It’s thick enough to cover my abdominal binder (so I’m happy about that) but not too thick for the fabric to feel heavy. It was in the 90s today so I needed to still feel cool.

The shorts are from PRETTYGARDEN on Amazon. I have never tried this style but I quite like them. They’re so flowy!

I don’t always prioritize comfort in my outfits! This feels really nice. So now I’m rethinking my entire wardrobe 😆 hope everyone had a nice day and wore something comfy too!

I’ve posted here in a couple places that I’m a few days post-op from a cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal!) - feels nice to leave the house and feel like a person hahaha

Wanted an excuse to play around with makeup today but I’m unsure how I feel about it. I know there’s barely any blue but I really don’t wear much color so this is a lot for me hahaha

The surgery went great and my baby hairs look better than ever 🤩😂 I recently started using Kiss Colors & Care Edge Fixer - extreme hold. Nothing else keeps my hair from curling up and it doesn’t get flaky!! Also included a selfie from yesterday but it’s filtered 🫣 just wanted to show another pic of how it looks.

Have you guys tried any Kiss hair products? 👀

Came across these pics and wanted to share! I stepped out my comfort zone back in December and wore color AND pattern in the same outfit 😆😆 normally I wear pretty neutral colors and mainly solids. Also first time wearing colored or patterned tights.

My thoughts on the fit if anyone cares:

Sooo it was supposed to be a monochrome / same exact color fit… it was not lol. The shoes and tights matched perfectly but of course the dress didn’t lol. I think it works tho..? Let me know.

The dress was not really the most flattering for my shape but I didn’t hate it. However it was clearly NOT the dress in the pic on Shein 😭😂 (yes I know that can happen shopping online and especially on Shein. I took the risk!) Color is totally different and the fuzz is different. I think even the fabric. I didn’t love this fabric - I feel it looks messy and I couldn’t figure out how to get it to look better. I thought I could just smooth it over with my hands 🥲 haven’t worn it again but I also haven’t had an occasion to. I have the link to the dress but it is sold out.

The tights were also Shein but not sold anymore. Super cute and pretty decent quality.

Heels from Amazon. Really quite comfortable and a fun color to have! Still have the link if anyone is interested.

Overall, I actually felt pretty confident in the outfit and I think it turned out ok for buying from Shein and Amazon 😅 for my next birthday, I would love to experiment again, but maybe with better stores 😆 taking recs :)

I’ve been reaching for this wig almost everyday since it’s delivered 😁 I loved it right out of the box. I didn’t have to pluck the hairline or adjust anything to like how it looked. I did add some eyeshadow to see what darker roots looked like and tested out some curls (last pic). The wig curls super easily and I like it with or without darker roots!

I’m wearing 18 inches, which is the typical length I go for. I find that it’s long enough to style but not too much hair where I get hot. 

One thing I wasn’t expecting but that I wanted to talk about was the conversation this wig sparked online. As a biracial Black woman wearing a blonde wig, I’ve received some surprisingly judgmental and racially charged comments on my posts. You may have seen them. Despite the negativity, this wig has reminded me that confidence comes from wearing what makes you feel good, not what other people think you should wear. The more I wear this blonde wig, the less I care about other people’s opinions, and the more empowered I’ve felt embracing a look I genuinely enjoy. 

I also want to acknowledge that I’ve received a ton of support and love. Everyone in my life, friends and family, have been loving this color on me. People online that have never interacted with me before have messaged or commented to reassure me, and I really appreciate it!

Reading the comments made me realize that people will always have opinions. What matters is whether you love what you’re wearing, and I do. I love this blonde wig, I love how it makes me feel, and you’ll definitely be seeing it again 😄

Overall, I’m quite pleased with this wig and I’m so happy to add it to my collection. If you’re considering trying a color that’s outside your comfort zone, my advice is to wear what makes you happy! Hair is a beautiful form of self-expression, and no one else gets to decide what suits you.

Sorry the photo isn’t full body, but any ideas for styling this dress? I want to wear it to a botanic garden for a photoshoot. I would love to have jewelry with flowers, any color, and matching shoes. But I’m not sure what style shoes would match this.

All pics are recent - I change my hair a lot 😆 but I wanted to include different hairstyles as they’re all part of me!

I’m getting surgery next week and just realized I have no idea what to do with my hair!! I could do faux locs again like in the pic, but does anyone have any other low maintenance style ideas? I don’t want to be worried about my hair at all.
