Have we missed the Bus again ?

I have had to move to Tamil Nadu for work, I am no a Tamil speaker, how do I start learning Tamil with no prior knowledge of the language.

A friend is married to a woman from Tamil Nadu, I asked here the same, she suggested watching Tamil Films, I did try that path, but there are no subtitles in Film Theatres fro Tamil Films, and, I do not watch Tamil films on TV / OTT.

What will be a good structured way to start learning, and, go on to being able to read, write, and, speak (not in this speific order) Tamil ?

All suggestions and help in this regard will be appreciated.
