I have mixed feelings about posting someone else’s car with no known attribution, but this sighting in the wild was just too great not to share.

Spotted in LA today.

Got it wrapped last year. Some of my friends told me the color sucks. Surprised to hear this from those of them whom I’d be making fun of before — the true Audi fans. I initially wanted to pick something more common but ended up with a color choice that blew my mind.

I never owned an Audi before, neither a big fan of most of the models, nor I like the interior (however getting used to that).

But RS6, and many other Audi’s wagons to be fair, had a special place in my heart.

I missed so much throughout my life on timely buying the cars of my dreams, that when I finally could afford one, all of them went to shit.

So, please meet my Sand Dune Matte RS6, the last of the German V8 wagons without a hybrid engine. I think I’ll keep this one for decades — never owned the very same car for more than 2 years in my life.

Queria compartilhar a vocês esta jóia: um Ford Galaxie 500 vermelho, ano 1974, que foi o último carro comprado pelo Juscelino Kubitschek, e foi o seu carro de uso diário durante seus últimos anos de vida (embora não tenha sido o carro que o vitimou em 1976).

A última foto foi a que eu mesmo tirei na minha visita ao Memorial JK de Brasília há alguns dias, as outras 3 eu peguei na Internet.

Vocês não tem ideia do quão grande é esse carro pessoalmente - e olha que nem era o maior carro vendido nem pela marca Ford e nem pela FoMoCo - e do quão lindo é esse tom de vermelho ao vivo; sem dúvidas, o JK não só foi o patrono da indústria nacional de automóveis, mas também tinha muito bom gosto para carros e para as cores da pintura dos seus carros.

The blue one is either WDB4632481X127255 or WDB4632481X127273 (they have two identical trucks, there are rumours that Putin himself has one of them in his personal collection), 2001 B6- 25 years old!

The black one is WDB4632481X171871, 2007 B7 which was earlier connected to Medvedev. Interesting that despite being a 2007 it still has the square fog lights and 5G gearbox (not sure if the M113+7G combo existed in SSA, please let me know if you know such a car).

Minha resposta: eu sinto falta até hoje. Infelizmente muito material em CD atualmente só se compra por importação, e achar um reprodutor (CD Player) novo é difícil e sempre é necessário trazer de fora também.

Espero que um dia os mais jovens despertem a sua curiosidade por essa mídia que é, na realidade, incrível.

Hello everybody. I would like to ask you about what are your opinions and experiences about/with different types of reeds construction throughout your everyday playing routine. If you can, please name the accordions you had played with the specific type of reed and your points about how they sound.

My personal experience: I have a Giulietti Classic 127 (Bugari made) that was constructed with tipo a mano (maybe? Despite being stated in the Petosa e-commerce site [they're the resellers of Bugari Armando and it's alternative brands in the US, though I'm not actually from the US; I've used Petosa website as a spec reference source since there's no official website for the Giulietti brand] that the new Classic 127 has hand-made reeds, my repairman of trust said that my unit has Voci Armoniche tipo a mano reeds, but also told me he had seen and repaired other Classic 127 boxes from the same period and manufacturer which featured Cagnoni hand-made reeds; so it's kinda an incognita of which reeds type my accordion really has, it may actually feature 100% hand-made reeds and I didn't knew yet) Voci Armoniche reeds, and it sounds absolutely phenonenal; although it sounds excelent, I'm having some issues with some of the bass reeds that sometimes work, sometimes not. Apparently, the reeds got misaligned a few months ago, and are starting to get stuck, I should reach my repairman to fix that in the next couple of months.

I've played a few old Scandalli accordions (mostly late 1960's 3-reed and 4-reed models) with machine-made reeds that sounded kinda dull, but I've also tested a newer compact Scandalli Air accordion from the 2000's with machine-made reeds that sounded kinda nice. I've had an experience of learning accordion with an early 1950's 80 bass Scandalli Brevetto (this exact model, we nickname these Scandalli models as "Gold Series" here in my country, and they're the best non-chambered Scandallis ever made) with LMM machine-made reeds, and it sounded wonderful for an entry-level instrument (much different [and better] from the higher-end non-chambered Scandallis from the late 1960's I've tried before).

So, when exactly the different reed types makes a difference? Tone? Dynamics? Sound consistency? Please tell me your experiences and thoughts about that. Thanks for your attention.

Confrades do sub, eu quis compartilhar com vocês essa história do Jeremy Clarkson, ocorrida em 1994, quando o próprio Jeremy ganhou - com 30 minutos de vantagem - a corrida contra a morte que acometeu seu pai, dirigindo um Porsche 928 com um frango assado que inclusive chegou quentinho após a viagem.

O Jeremy Clarkson costuma ser muito debochado (às vezes não sendo uma unanimidade fora do Reino Unido) ao típico estilo do humor britânico (que foi usado por ele e pelo James May e Richard Hammond no Top Gear para conquistar uma maior audiência), mas esta história - contada de maneira séria por motivos óbvios - é uma daquelas que vale a pena ouvir.

Acredito que essa história nos permite refletir sobre o valor subjetivo que cada modelo e/ou unidade de carro tem para nós; muitos gostariam de um Porsche pelas suas qualidades técnicas, mas para o Jeremy o 928 é significativo para ele por causa desta experiência marcante (embora triste) que ele teve na vida. Um Corsinha sedã 1.6 ano 2000 poderia facilmente passar despercebido por milhares de pessoas, mas para alguma delas ele pode ser um carro que signifique algo importante, provavelmente por ter sido o carro que pertenceu aos seus pais desta pessoa e no qual esta andou na infância (e teve uma referência positiva disso); um Ford Ka baratinha até pode ser um carro menos importante na história automotiva mundial, mas para alguém pode significar algo importante por ter sido o primeiro carro desta pessoa (que o permitiu ter liberdade pela primeira vez, que foi um vetor para novas experiências de vida, que pode ter sido uma lição de disciplina e, de certa forma, amor no sentido de cuidar/zelar por algo ou alguém). Por isso eu gostei desta história, e por isso eu quis compartilhá-la aqui.
