I hate people seemingly forgetting that a CREATOR created their work. Characters do not simply exist, they were created the way they were intentionally.
"Their backstory and x and y and z explain why x thing is the way it is." No it absolutely doesn't all of that is bullshit lol. It is created by a creator as a part of the character.
That backstory did NOT literally create the character, and does NOT explain any of their traits or designs.
Kit from GameOverse: YES her design is sexualized. No shit. A cartoon with sexualized characters. Shocking I know. She is also NOT "Goonbait" lmao. A character being sexualized =/= inherently sexual. The show DOES have inherently sexual scenes that are too much for a kids show. That being a character being in bondage while wearing almost nothing and the camera looking down their cleavage. The creators MADE it that way on purpose. You cannot defend it by giving the reasons from the story (that the writers wrote for that exact purpose).
Momo from MHA: Her power having "reasons" for her dressing like that is BULLSHIT. The author wrote and designed her that way so he could draw a 15 year old girl with giant tits and having them half out all of the time. Its gross and attempting to defend it with the stories' reason is ridiculous and people can not actually be that moronic to think that the characters backstory is what ACTUALLY created the character and that it is not actually just the author doing all of that.
Tomochan is a girl: a character randomly has a backstory where her mom had her at TWELVE YEARS OLD! WHAT THE FUCK! The story is written to excuse this by having the father have been 16, and she "lied about/hid her age" (to place blame on her). Whether this is something that happens IRL is IRRELEVANT! The author chose to write it that way so that he could have a 12 year old get pregnant. There is no other way to look at that. The characters backstory doesn't "explain that" as the story was literally written by the author around the character.
(To be clear GameOverse is rated 14+. It's a cartoon for teenagers. Being shocked it features sexualized to very sexualized characters is a bit silly, its not the worst out there, and it is also only (so far) depicting adult characters in a sexualized manner.)
