Does MARPE make your face longer?

I can't tell if it's because I lost my masseter muscles or if my face has actually gotten longer. I was looking in the mirror today and didn't like how long it was. Is this the dreaded drop down effect from MARPE??

I had an exam I know I failed today that will decide my fate if I continue university or not. I am crushed.

Before you say, "you should've revised more" obviously I know that. This past year I have been in the worst depression of my life. I go to a top uni that most people would kill to be at, but I can't make myself care. This was my last resit, even though I didn't take it other times due to my mental health issues. If I fail, I will be forced to drop out. Results come out in a month, right when uni is starting, and things were finally starting to look better for me, but now I have nothing to look forward to :(

I had an exam I know I failed today that will decide my fate if I continue university or not. Is it possible to pass with LOA?

Legitimately don't know what I will do if I don't pass. Please help me, tell me what to do, what to listen to, etc,

I don't know much if anything about spirituality but I know I failed for sure. I wrote way too much on one answer and the other two, I wrote way too little. I need to at least pass this exam to stay in this university. Please tell me what to do.

I know most don’t like strong bone structure on women, but it’s my favorite feature

Model is Natasha Poly.

I used to love neotenous and round features but lately and since growing up, I’ve started to love mature and more developed bone structures so much more. They make someone look so effortlessly statuesque and make the face 10x more interesting.

Same lense, same angle

Sorry to post again, people were saying that my lens distortion was off and they were lowkey right. Here’s a more comparable before and after. I didn’t want to unintentionally mislead anyone.

You can really see how much wider my nose in this. That’s all!

Edit: Also this is just my observation but my face has gotten a lot more 3d, instead of flat. It’s like it actually pops out, instead of the features blending in with everything

My before and after (frontal and side). I feel like a whole new person.

All of this change was possible with just MARPE. I will forever be grateful to the device and my ortho, I feel like a whole different person. I thought I needed of plethora of procedures to feel confident about my appearance, I had no idea how drastic the change could actually be.

Here’s every change I’ve noticed from MARPE:

-wider cheekbones

-fuller lips

-wider nose

-more hooded/alert eyes

-masseter atrophy

-less facial bloating

-defined jawline

-more symmetry

Health benefits

-Can actually breath through my nose

-Less congestion

There’s a 2 lb weight difference in my before and after, before people say it’s just weight loss lol.

If you have a narrow palate, there is so many aesthetic and functional benefits to MARPE. I would strongly suggest it over a segmental lefort!

I feel like I look like a whole different person

I look a lot older despite the two year difference in between photos. I don’t know how to feel ngl.

People keep PMing asking for full face reveal so I thought I would post it. I know I was chopped in the first photo 😭 I used an app to overlay my old and new face, to prevent lense distortion so this should be the most accurate representation of my changes

Also people keep asking if my maxilla dropped down, I have no idea? does it look like it? it’s hard for me to judge myself personally

Eye difference from MARPE

People keep asking for difference in my eyes so here’s a comparison. Their shape looking different but i’m not sure if they have gotten wider?

Sorry the top photo is blurred, I had to go back in my camera roll to find a decent photo and I apologize they’re not similar lighting. One thing to note I am kinda looking up in the first photo which makes my upper eyelid exposure seem greater but my eyes have become much more hooded after starting this.

I was 15 in top photo and looked 30 due to my bags LMAO.

I have never understood the hype around Elle Fanning or Anya Taylor Joy

They’re both like 6-7, but a lot of people on this sub praise their beauty. Elle is pretty to me, just very basic. Anya looks very uncanny with her eyes and buccal fat removal.

Why do Europeans think they're exempt from criticism?

Lest we forget that extreme nationalism exists everywhere....

What do we think the point of diminishing returns is on MARPE?

This post is entirely subjective and based on aesthetics. I understand that there may be improvements to be made for breathing purposes to expand wider.

Before my treatment, I scoped countless of before and after expansion posts on this subreddit, tiktok, instagram etc. This is again, my subjective opinion, but it seemed once people expanded past 10 mm at the absolute maximum it went into uncanny valley territory. It was like the palate was almost too wide and didn't fit the facial features right. At what point do we really think the maximum number of mm is before it starts to look off? I am at 7mm right now and like my results, but if I get even more aesthetic benefits from 3mm of expansion I would do it. However, I am afraid of looking uncanny and expanding even more.

I also know that this question is based on variable factors such as age, sex, underlying bone structure etc. but I am talking more generally.

Downsides of MARPE (75% done w/ treatment)

Before I start this post, I still would recommend MARPE for the vast majority of cases. I am not a professional, this is just my opinion as someone who is undergoing treatment.

  1. Nose

I always had a strong and defined nose, it has become a lot plumper and rounder, and the nostrils appear a lot bigger. Airway wise this is good, aesthetically I don’t like it.

  1. Asymmetry

There‘s some slight asymmetry in my expansion, but my ortho assured me it will be fixed with my aligners.

  1. Hassle

It‘s so annoying to have a MARPE, two upper aligners, one bottom, and attachments. The amount of nastiness from old food that gets stuck in my MARPE is gross. I don’t eat out with my friends anymore because I hate feeling the food in my mouth and not being near my waterflosser. There’s also a huge hunk of metal in your mouth, you get used to it but sometimes it’s still uncomfortable.

  1. Lisp

People say they grew out of theirs, and mine has gotten better, but because i have so many things in my mouth now I spit a lot when talking which is deeply embarrassing lol.

Edit: Also I have gotten into this terrible and weird habit of sucking my upper lip in between my teeth. I need to stop
