Break into Management
I've moved from entry to mid to senior IC roles and have about a 5-10 year timeline to retirement but would like to transition to a management role. It seems like a catch-22 though - need experience to get it but can't get the experience without getting it.
Suggestions are welcome (I'm in the tech sector, but not in a programming or developer kinda role - more implementation, training and curriculum dev work). Would kill for a role as a training manager or something along those lines but even that seems out of reach.
Sweet Molly Malone
Love the rendition of this song...another musical number from the show that always gets me. What MASH musical moments are your favorites?
Go in Peace
This entire episode was educational and informative for me, but yet somehow at the end it was overwhelming. Mulcahey's prayer particularly, touched me deeply when he said it in Latin.
Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner
I really enjoyed this episode for a number of reasons.
First, it's fond memories of how the family kind of circled the wagons to tend to my dad in his final years to make sure he was as comfortable as possible.
Second, the storyline from what I understand is based on scientific fact. At the end of the episode there's a reference to medical research about the effects of that drug on sub-population bases that determined some pretty bad side effect.
Plus, all the actors I think were on their A-game for this particular episode.
Get Him A Jeep!
I also like "Silk Sheets...how fitting for our chief worm!" from BJ lol
The Eyes Have It
Major (and colonel) props to both Swit and Morgan - the acting here is off the charts. It looks like they're both method acting and getting very emotional. I believe in these characters.
Goodnight Mr. Sock
The closer is awesome too: "Do you have any shots of the glider I shot down?"
LOL
Don't You Dare
I know it's a bit longer but I did this for three reasons:
Pusillanimous
Who's madder - Hawkeye or Winchester?
How awesome is that smirk of Winchester at the end of his tirade?
Happy Saturday, and sorry I'm so late to post today lol
Redondo Cigars
Not a real cigar company ofc - wondering what cigars made in the 50's that would've been available so cheaply (Cuban cigars, made in New Jersey hand rolled by Puerto Ricans lol)
That said, I like how he lit the stogie (aka charoot) lol
Androcles and the Lion
This story has a very personal meaning to me, so wanted to share at least the first half of it here. Love how BJ is with kids...
There's a Long Long Night
I am constantly drawn to some of the musical element to the show. It occurs to me that newer shows just don't tap into musical talents like they used to because every person I think has danced or sung or incorporated music in some way, shape, or form. This is one of my favorites! What are some of your favorites?
As Long As It's on Tiptoes
My favorite part of this is how the camera zooms on her chattering mouth. Of course the comedic gag "just so long as it's on tiptoes" gets a chuckle too...
LinkedIn and Indeed
So much research out there seems to support the notion that LinkedIn and Indeed have become nothing more than sites farming resumes and data. I think the last numbers I saw suggested that of all the posted jobs, less than 1% were legitimately there looking to fill a need.
If you're looking for work, do you find the same to be the case? If so, what other options exist out there? I've seen sites like ZipRecruiter, Monster, Dice, and then things get very niche-based. What are your go-to resources these days to find legit opportunities?
It's Also a Whistle
It's also a whistle is my favorite comeback here after Frank pulls out the tiny capgun.
S3 Ep2 for anyone who wants to ask lol
Go Help McIntyre
Probably one of a handful of the most serious acting bits from McLean Stevenson in the entire series (the second, coming immediately after this with his "All I know is what they taught me at command school).
The way their eyes met still makes me choke up and shiver a bit. What scenes for Blake make you go "Damn, he's good!"?
Gee Mom, I Wanna Go Home!
This is by far the longest clip but it's so awesome, just had to share the entire sing-a-long here. Always leaves me with a smile. Who's solo do you like the best?
DVD Set
Someone had asked a while back about how I was watching all these episodes. I got the DVD collection for a birthday gift many years ago and I digitized the DVDs for archival purposes. Here's some sample pics from the collector's edition on my bookshelf
You Eat It!
I love two lines in this exchange:
"I can't sir it makes me woozy" and the ultimate gut-buster "You eat it!"
But here's my question - are they playing tic-tac-toe with peas and whatever those white things are?
