[LOTR] what makes humans unique or special?

Every single race outside of humans seem to posses some manner of extraordinary quality. Orcs have tremendous physical strength, Dwarves are incredibly intelligent designers and engineers, Elves are tremendously long lived and adept with magic, Fae have a unique bond with nature etc etc.

Humans seem not to have any particular advantage in any area. Some humans might be pretty OK with magic others might be fairly adept with engineering. Others still are fairly impressive warriors. But none of these can reach the levels of sheer impressive feet of any of the other groups. Also usually be impressive, sorcerers, or engineers, or warriors are usually only a handful in any particular generation of humans.

How are humans even able to survive when coexisting alongside such powerful races?

Is it normal to require advance notice to take a gap semester?

Hey everyone just a quick question

My educational future is in dire straits atm. So I had a tremendously rough winter semester. I was damn near suicidal and I did absolutely shit in my classes.

I decided it might be best for me to take the spring (this past semester) off just to get my mental health in order. Then right in the middle of the semester my father got extremely ill and died. So it got even worse.

I then get a phone call from the financial office saying I owe 5000 dollars because I skipped the semester and they instead of giving me an education grant left me with a debt to the university.

I’m not sure what to do. I’m having the worst year ever and now I might not even graduate. Any advice would be great

I’d actually love a prequel series about the origins of Toshinori becoming All Might

The Addams (or at least the nuclear family of the larger Addams bloodline we usually see) for all purposes mostly* appear to be normal looking human people.

However they have a taste for any number of personal preferences that range from the moderately strange to the life threatening and outright deadly.

From eating poisonous food to bomb-making, juggling chainsaws, ritual torture and often outright simply to openly assasinate one another.

Yet they seem to brush off severe injury and what would in most cases amount to death for any normal person without any adverse health consequences. Yet apparently they can still die and seem to deeply love and desire death.

What manner of creatures are they? Vampires? Wizards? Some sort of undead?
