Electrolux dryer with steam feature - hot or cold water?

Good morning everyone

I've been helping my landlady with another house she owns, literally everything in it was busted, last night I fixed the dryer. The vent was completely blocked with a bird's nest and it burned up the heating element (electric) I found one on eBay and replaced it (thank you YouTube!) and all is good. What I didn't realize until I pulled it out to work on it was that it has a steam feature, but it wasn't hooked up. Fancy! Is this typically hooked up to the hot or cold water line? I downloaded the owner's manual but weirdly it didn't cover installation.

Model no. is EWMED70JSS3

I may actually be taking it because she has a tenant lined up that may have their own laundry machines. I already fixed the washer and the washer in my place is beyond repair; this dryer is way nicer than the old one in my place as well.

Touch wood, I think the only thing left to fix in that place is a dishwasher that won't turn on... I literally think the water heater was the only thing that was working 100% when I walked in there the first time. Even most of the lights were burned out, it was wild, I spent several hours the first day just replacing light bulbs (OK, CFLs, but you get the idea)

How do you use an ultrasonic to clean glasses?

What do you put in the tank? Just water and a little soap? Do you use the heater?

Reason I ask is I have a 10L "Vevor" tank that I primarily use for cleaning LPs (for which I use distilled water and the highest percentage isopropanol I can find at about a 3:1 ratio, plus a splash of Triton X-100 - water and surfactant only for shellac) but I have a few pair of vintage sunglasses coming and I would like to clean them (really clean them, e.g. dig the gunk out of the nose pad mounts etc.) before sending them off to be relensed. I would like to not damage the existing lenses should I decide to not use some and gift/resell them instead. They will be sunglasses so the lenses may be coated.

Thanks for any advice!

Best relensing service?

I realize this is probably a common question but I'm overthinking and also after spending too much time surfing I still am not sure who to go with.

Unfortunately the Ray-Bans that I've had for literally more than half my life were stolen (who steals prescription sunglasses?) so I need new ones. What I've decided to do, rather than pay way, way too much for new ones, is I've already bought an assortment of old Ray-Ban and Randolph frames and I will take the one or two I like best and have new prescription lenses put in them. (I can't wear contacts so I really need prescription lenses)

I'd like G15 polarized lenses.

Who to use? Lensabl and Fuse look like options but if there's anyone else that does really high quality work I'm open to suggestions. Also, advice on what lens options are worth it and which aren't appreciated.

My prescription is pretty stable and my old Ray-Bans would be 26 years old now, and were on their second set of lenses, so I don't mind paying for quality. Heck, I've considered just buying a new pair of prescription Randolphs but I want to try them on before committing.

Thanks for any advice!

How long to recognize vision test?

MD - trying to renew driver's license. Web site said I needed a vision test. Went to optometrist instead of MVA because a) I actually do have insurance and b) it's been almost 4 years. My appointment was Wednesday but I'm still getting the error on the web site. How long does a valid vision exam generally take to get posted? Not sure when I should follow up with optometrist's office to make sure the form gets sent to MVA.

best all weather floor mats for current gen Honda Accord?

Good morning all

a friend of mine just bought a used 2023 Accord and it seems pretty nice. She bought it from Enterprise so my biggest concern is changing the fluid in the transmission ASAP. Doesn't look like it needs much else EXCEPT it has no floor mats, I assume they were thrown out because the original carpeted ones were worn.

I'd like to buy her a set of all weather mats to protect the carpet and make it look nice. What to buy? Are the factory ones good or is there something better? I wish I knew who made them for VW back in 2002, the ones in my GTI still look brand new and are amazing.

Thanks for any advice, and if there are any known trouble spots I should be looking at please let me know. Thank you!

Good evening all

I think I may have done messed up.

Basically I need a wall mounted outdoor light fixture to go next to a front door. I've been stopping at ReStore maybe twice a week for a while now and today they had one. It looks very nice although it is significantly larger than any of the other similar fixtures on the street (row houses).

I just realized something; of course, after I paid for the new fixture and walked out with it. It uses three candelabra base bulbs which isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but I realized that at least as of a few months ago when I restored an old floor lamp (from the same store, coincidentally) that the smallest flame style candelabra bulbs I could find in the Philips Ultra Definition line were 25W equivalent. Three of those would be 185*3 or 555 lumens which would be too much really. Currently I'm using a single 40W Ultra Definition (300 lumen) in the old falling apart fixture and honestly that might be too much for the little postage stamp of a yard. I actually was thinking about trying one of the "25W" ones with a base adapter after I repaint the one fixture (I'm actually working on two houses next to each other, one fixture needs to be repainted and I actually just bought the paint for it today; the other needs a replacement as that one is steel, rusted, and falling apart)

Now I know back in the day you could get 15W candelabra bulbs but if they'd made a good quality (in my mind, 2700K, >90 CRI, good name brand so it'll last at least a couple years) LED I would have already bought it for my floor lamp. I certainly don't want to use 45W worth of incandescents in something that could often be left on all night, because I have a vocal enough inner granola munching hippie I couldn't do that.

Can anyone recommend anything? Or should I take the L, put the fixture on Trash Nothing, and hold out for a smaller, single bulb fixture like I already have?

thanks!

Got a persistent P1698 code. Apparently that's a PCM/TCM communications failure. Took it to shop after cleaning connectors didn't sort it. According to mechanic TCM seems fine and wiring seems fine so he's going with I need a new PCM.

What to do/where to go? I don't have the numbers, will have them Thursday. Can't just ignore as I need emissions every 2 years. Frustrating thing is I just got new cats to get rid of THAT code.
