OK, so I got this really cute little palm sized white poodle plushy that has beans in their bottom and has a floppy little body, but he sits up great. He’s so cute an d so precious. I sewed some bows onto their ears and made them a cute little pink outfit with white lace, and a ribbon. I also made them a chain collar that was made out of a few different broken bracelets, and I linked it together all by myself. I made their outfit 100% from scratch and it’s the first time I’ve ever made a completed sewing project 100% from scratch all by myself with no pattern, assistance or anything. I’m really proud of myself.
but this is where I’m having second thoughts. So I love my friend with all of my heart, and they love their stuffies a lot. But they treat them a little bit rough. Which is none of my business. But I keep my plushy‘s really nice. I wash them and even though I snuggle with them every day and their fur gets matted you know to be loved is to be changed and all that but they stay clean and nice. But my friend isn’t like that.
They don’t wash their stuffies very often, they get really dirty. They fall on the ground a lot. They get sat on. it doesn’t mean that they love their stuffies any less than me, of course. But when I think about this little baby, that I put so much work into making them an outfit, being dirty and turning brown, and sat on and treated rough, maybe their outfit i spent so long on and put so much heart into gets ripped and broken, it all makes me really upset and kind of makes me wanna cry. because stuffies being treated that way upsets me and I have hyper empathy for sure, I struggle with that a lot, but also I put in so much work into making this little baby’s outfit and to think that my hard work will kind of be tossed around and not treated delicately makes me upset.
I put so much work into them, and I am emotionally attached now, I was talking to them while I made their outfit asking them if it was too tight and stuff. I feel like a bad person for making this outfit and getting this plushy to give to them and now having second thoughts. Does this make me a bad person? Am I being a bad friend? Like I really don’t know I’m feeling really conflicted and really guilty for even having these thoughts. Any advice would be appreciated.
TL;DR: I sewed an outfit all by myself for a plushie to give to my friend as a birthday gift, but remembering how they treat their plushies is making me have second thoughts-and im feeling very very guilty about it.
so i am guessing that i am by no means doing this in the traditional way bc i don’t know how to, im just rolling with it and figuring it out as i go along.
i want the neck of his jacket to be narrower and more fitted, how would i go about this? i was thinking id cut off the collar that i pinned down (was just trying to see if that length fit) and then putting little darts in the neck, then sewing the collar back on. would that work or should i try something else?
this is my first 100% scratch project all on my own with my new machine !!!:) i know it doesn’t look the best, but im excited and proud anyways. this little guy is gonna be a birthday present for my friend ^_^ thanks in advance!!

I didn’t know what flair to use, but I guess this one works the best. Long story short I was arrested. So I wasn’t able to ship out this person‘s order. It’s now day nine. I messaged them telling them what happened and acknowledged that it sounded like a bullshit excuse and I did not expect them to believe me that’s up to them lol. But they said that they needed it by Friday so they don’t think it’ll come in time. They are probably right, but you never know. I asked if they wanted me to cancel the order so they can get their refund and I offered to still send it out to them for free anyways because I feel so bad. Even though the circumstances were completely out of my hands. They still ordered something and they are supposed to get that items that they ordered! No response yet.
Anyway I just feel so guilty and it sounds like such a made up BS excuse i just feel so bad and i know how much it sucks to not get sometbing delivered in time for what i ordered it for 😢 i hate that i contributed to that. rant over.
edit: i know it was totally inappropriate to tell them this-i have not been thinking clearly whatsoever thr past 24 hours, it had been so long i thought i owed them an explanation and i was just not thinking. 😔 i feel very embarrassed, but i had to vent here for a second. also, i did ship it out to them.
