Are the 40v impacts worth it for mechanics (usa(rule2))

I know the 40v high torque 1/2 inch is a decade newer and significantly more powerful, but it is pushing $700 for the kit. A new 18v HT 1/2" is about 300 new.

Are the other 40v impacts that much better than their 18v counterpart for thw money?

Is the 40v platform in general worth it for mechanics who may need other tools like a stick vacuum and leaf blower that lasts more than half an hour?

I do intend to buy some tools (like the lxt 1/2" ht) used if i dont think i will need them all too often.

I do not want to buy used batteries unless yall convince me that it is hugely better

How much does the quality of a microfiber cloth matter?

Are the $2 12 packs at harbor freight good enough?

At that price they are disposable, but are they even good as single use?

What should i look for if those are inadequate for maintaining a mirror like finish on black paint?

How common are engine mods?

I am a lifelong car guy and have never owned a boat. Me and my friend who is into fishing are considering getting a bass boat.

How possible are engine mods like a turbo or just a performance tune?

I know it would reduce the reliability, but if i aim for conservative power targets it should still be reliable enough to get back after every trip with minimal servicing.

Insane power loss from ac

My sister recently got a 2019 buick encore (base model) with a 1.3 ecotec making about 130hp. It feels peppy at low speeds but has felt powerless at high speeds.

She recently started telling me that when it gets around 100 it is slow on the highway.

I was driving it about 150 miles on the fighway today and i figured out you have to turn the ac and fan off in order to pass if you are going above 60.

I tried windows open but if thebair is 100, there is no cooling to be had.

I looked up how much power ac uses and google says between 5 and 10hp. My right foot felt a 30hp drop in power.

An intake, exhaust and a tune would probably give it more hp than the ac uses but i really dont feel like its worth it

How many if yall have wanted to hook one of these up to a car battery and see how much more it will rip

TTC tested this with custom batteries and it showed that it can make more torque with homemade tabless batteries.

This tool is known for needing as much current as possible, so what if it had access to 1000 amps.

If TTC is reading this, you know what you have to do.

How many of yall actually use the smaller bags that come with individual tool combos?

I use the larger bags that come with the 4+ tool combos because they fit basically every power tool i need for any particular job.

I have not yet encountered a situation where i need to carry the tool, the battery outside the tool, and the shitty charger it comes with to wherever i need an impact.

What about yall?

Rear break calipers are not compressing

I was working on my sisters 2019 encore base. The fronts compressed easily but the back would not budge. Yes the handbreak was down.

Anything could help. Thanks

If you need clarification before giving me an answer please ask

I tested cheap vs expensive triple sec

Expensive is definitley easier to drink. Cheap has a lingering sour flavor. Patron citronge is a good alternative to cointrau if it is cheaper.

Tequila makes a difference, but only if it is super cheap like jose cuervo. Milagro, espolon and teremana are all good. I always buy whichever is cheaper at the time. I do not ever buy patron tequila because there are other brands that are readily available for the same price and are way better.

Triple sec makes a large difference. DeKuyper tastes like orange flavored liquer while the more expensive brands taste like they are made from oranges. Nothing beats cointrau, but for the price, citronge is a good alternative

Recipie:

2 part tequila

1 part lime juice (any brand but rose's)

1 part triple sec / orange liqueir

1 scoop ice (1/2 cup)

Shaken 30 seconds

I personally do not like salt with margaritas.

Where do i get thermochromic paint that is supposed to regularly get up to 800f? (426c)

I am currently getting things together in order to build a supressor (form 1 pending) and i want it to change color when it is hot. The planned length is long enough that it will not fit in a case if attatched to the rifle. It would be neat to have it change color when it is cool enough to touch.

Alternativley, it would be nice to have it change color when it is hetting too hot. It will be made of 6061 aluminum so it should not get near 1000f or else it will melt

Any help is appreciated

Anyone else have this experience during open sessions at indoor rinks

I go to 2 different indoor rinks. One of them is significantly bigger than the other. The big rink has a significantly wider skill distribution and it leads to it feeling like i95. The smaller one has an entrance/ exit at turn 1. To exit you simply continue straight. The larger one has the entrance/ exit along the entire straight that is also about half the width of the corners. All of this leads to absolute chaos in the large one.

There is no "flow of traffic" speed because you have groups of people going 0.5mph and about 5 speed skaters cutting up like prime lightning mcqueen. People also just exit from the middle at 90 degrees without looking or making any indication whatsoever.

The majority of people (65%) are NOT the problem. Niether are the beginners. But there is a good 10% with negative spacial awareness.

The staff and speedskaters seem to have no issue moving through the pack going at least 15 to 20mph.

Anyone else have this experience at their rink?

I am not trying to be bitchy, but i am genuinley having a hard time predicting what the people in front of me are doing.

Macroblade 110 question

My current skates (rollerderby aerio q84) kinda suck and are uncomfortable. Are the macroblade 110s firm and do they put a lot of pressure on the outside of your ankles? What other skates would you reccomend instead if no

How do i make my holster release my gun easier?

I got this holster because it prints a lot less, but it is very hard to remove my gun with one hand. It takes one hand on the holster itself to stop it from pulling everything up.

Can i use a heat gun to soften it?
