Corporatocracy Carney is nothing like his book Value(s) and his presentation during the Reith Lectures.

He talked so eloquently about how society/economic frameworks needed to evolve. That we needed more nuance and substance in how we valued things - For example: A forest has value past just being cut down for lumber..

Now we have someone on the war path against any environmental reviews, regulations, and limits...

We have someone on the war path against Labour.

We have someone incredibly about the military-industrial complex.

The man is trying to remake the U.S. empire...

I and others have talked about how he is a "Progressive" Conservative - A Blue Liberal/Red Tory type. In reality he is a Corporatocracy Conservative on fucking steroids.

(And yes PP is worse as one of the standard con-artist grifters of the reactionary/regressive sphere)

We all need to realize the next four years to a decade is going to be a big fight to hold onto what we have in the Labour Movement, Environmentalist Movement, Women's Rights Movement, LGBTQ+ Rights Movement, Civil Rights Movement, Peace Movement, Alter-Globalization Movement, and so on for actually better and brighter horizons.

Get involved & Get active!

The working class and most vulnerable only have each other.. All the rights and benefits we enjoy today came from the fights of solidarity.

We need to start being a whole lot more on the offensive to actually deliver the next generation of wins for all those aforementioned causes.

This neoliberal death cult is only going to get more dark and dystopian and we are only going to see more and more of an affordability of life crisis/quality of life crisis of the working class and most vulnerable (Alongside more and more austerity).

Well we have another week of Trump/His Cronies threatening devastation to then go "Well never mind..... Now negotiations are going wonderful!" or "Well never mind.... Someone asked me to not do it so as a favor I'm going to postpone my attack for a week or so!"

It's the same script week after week after week. Sometimes multiple times a day....

There is always some people that try and pretend this administration isn't the flail/failure that it obviously is - Especially on foreign policy.

For those of us living in reality how do you think this will all play out?

We've got about a month/two months of the current limited/closed Strait before we have serious issues with reserves.

Also if the conflict goes hot again and we get further damage to Hydrocarbon Energy supply & infrastructure then even if the Strait does open we will have long going supply disruptions issues.

The whole thing is a mess. A horrible horrible mess.

(I guess at least on the bright side - Trumps fiasco is supercharging investment, research & development, and implementation of Renewable Energy/Electrification Technology)

There are sadly plenty of online places you can exist in the lowest level possible of populism (I.e. A mob).

We always get a few posters/commentators (and a bit more when posts go viral) that repeat the old line of: "Oil & Gas is being so held back in the U.S. and Canada!"

Reality:

The United States of America is the #1 producer and consumer of oil barrels a day in the world...

It produces around 3-4 MILLION barrels a day of oil more than Saudi Arabia...

Canada is #4 in the world of 195 nations...

Here in Canada:

In 1990 as a nation we did around 1.7 MILLION barrels every single day.

In 2014 that was around 3.8 MILLION barrels every single day.

Now that sits around 4.6 to 5+ MILLION barrels every single day.

(Yes it went up during Trudeaus time in office too lol)

We are the Petrocracy countries. We are the countries overflowing with Oil & Gas Lobby propaganda...

If this is shocking to you it is because lies are repeated at a brute force brainwashing level within certain circles. Then they get repeated by people ill-informed/misinformed.

Bots and then people acting at the level of bots.

You'll probably also find it startling to learn that the Oil & Gas Lobby had its own climate scientists in the 50's and 60's that reported what would happen with the climate and overall environmental issues and the industry hid that information because they didn't want Renewable Energy/Electrification Technology developed too fast to threaten their invested interests.

Or that the Oil & Gas Lobby hired many of the same individuals/organizations involved in the old Tobacco companies campaigns around "Alternative Science/Facts & Messaging".... Not exactly the most honest of type eh? ....

You may also be surprised to know that already 90%+ of new power capacity in the world comes from Renewable Energy because it is not just cleaner it is also cheaper than Hydrocarbon Energy...

Or that Electrification Technology is growing at a rapid rate.

Again it's important to understand that in the U.S. and Canada we have establishment interests with a lot of power to control narratives and that propaganda is not just a "foreign" reality. It is very much here at home and it is very very big business.
