I have a Toneport GX that I ve been using since 2007 and I would like to upgrade my Interface because I need an XLR in. My GX served me well and had a great Sound and originally I was looking at an Focusrite Scarlett but someone suggested the 176. I love the design of the device but what makes it so special ?

I would like to use the device for guitar and Bass + micing my cab.

I have an Ampeg BA 108 V2 as a bedroom amp and really like it. It is warm and full sounding but I want to have a bit more flexibility and maybe more of that Ampeg sound.

Would a samsamp bddi or VT get me there ? The problem is that amp doesn't have an FX return so the pedal would go straight into the Instrument Input of the amp. I was also looking at the samsamp because I like the possibility to use it with my pc and for mabye playing live one day.

The ampeg sgt-di seemed like another great option but I heard Bad things about longevity of the pedal and I also found it a bit too expensive.

I enjoy games like Arc Raiders, No more Room in Hell, Project Zomboid, Hunt Showdown etc but I dont have friends to play at the moment. I am looking for a tense solo experience. Which games would you recommend. I ve just read about Gray Zone warfare and it looks interesting. What would you recommend ?

Hallo miteinander ! Ich habe einen sagen wir mal etwas ungewöhnlichen Lebenslauf aufzuweisen. Habe meine berufliche Laufbahn ursprünglich mit einer Schauspielausbildung begonnen und daraufhin ca 7 Jahre am Theater gearbeitet. Über meine Tätigkeit an einem Kindertheater habe ich die soziale Arbeit für mich entdeckt und dann in den letzten 18 Jahren nach einer Erzieherausbildung ein einer Grundschule in der offenen Ganztagsbetreuung gearbeitet. Zu der Zeit hatte sich schon rauskristalisiert dass ich auch immer der Ansprechpartner war wenn es um Computer und Medienpädgogische Dinge ging. Hatte dort auch einen Internet Kurs für Kinder gegeben. Jetzt bin ich 45 und wünsche mir noch einmal Veränderung und neuen "Input".

Mich zeichnet aus das ich viele verschiedene Interessen habe und sehr stak autodidaktisch veranlagt bin: habe mir vor 30 Jahren Gitarre spielen beigebracht und ich würde mal sagen.. ja das kann ich ganz gut. Seit 4 Wochen lerne ich jetzt noch Bass :D . Das musisch Kreative war also schon immer ein wichtiger Teil in meinem Leben. Mein Vater war Musiker, Mama war Regisseurin.

Jetzt kommt aber noch hinzu dass ich mich seit meiner Kindheit immer schon auch Computern und allem technischen hingezogen gefühlt habe. Auf meinem Schreibtisch an dem ich gerade sitze steht zum Beispiel immernoch mein alter Amiga den ich komplett mit CF Kartenleser, Lüfter und Turbokarte selbst modifiziert habe. Ich schraube gerne an meinen Laptops rum und installiere kuriose Betriebssysteme und besitze zum Beispiel sogar noch einen Spectrum ZX. Ich habe im Laufe meines Lebens auch mit so ziemlich allen Linux Distributionen Erfahrungen gesammelt und hatte Spaß daran mich mit dem Terminal und dem System auseinanderzusetzen. Habe auch einmal ein komplettes Arch Linux System von Grundauf zusammengesetzt und konzipiert. Ausserdem Löte ich sehr gerne und modifiziere gerne Technik. Habe alle meine Konsolen gemoddet und miteinander im selben Netzwerk mit meinem Rechner verbunden. Auch eine Webseite habe ich schonmal komplett selbst mit Html geschrieben. Das war noch lange bevor es KI gab.

Mein letzten Hobby - Projekte, die insgesamt ungefähr in den letzten 4 Monaten stattgefunden haben bezogen sich darauf Linux auf einem 2020 Macbook Air zu installieren das dies eigentlich komplett restriktiv verhindert hat. Nach einer nächtelangen Aktion hab ich es dann endlich geschafft einen USB Stick zu konzipieren der diese "Sperre" dann aushebeln konnte. Wie das alles funktioniert habe ich mir über Tutorials selbst angeeignet.

Ausserdem habe ich einen Arcade Spielautomaten komplett selbst zusammengebaut und mit einem Raspberry Pi versehen auf dem Retropie läuft.

Zu guter letzt auf meine Playsation 1 Platine einen Sd Kartenleser eingelötet. Was auch mehrere Nächte erfordert hat, da es auf der Platine selbst einen defekt gab und ich erstmal per Messung rausfinden musste wo der Fehler lag bis ich ihn schließlich mit einem Kabel überbrücken konnte. Das hatte ich auch bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nie gemacht.

Prinzipiell ist es so dass wenn ich ein "Projekt" habe dass mich begeistert oder vor einem Problem stehe ich mich sehr ausdauernd damit beschäftige bis ich es schaffe es schließlich zu lösen.

Vor ein paar Monaten war ich auf der Suche nach einer Klimaanlage und da nirgends eine zu bekommen war habe ich mit Hilfe von Claude ein Skript erstellt dass nebenher im Alltag auf meinem Handy in einem Terminal lief und alle paar Minuten den Bestand bei allen Bauhäusern in der Umgebung abklapperte.

Ich habe immer wieder den Gedanken dass die Arbeit an technischen "Projekten" eigentlich genau mein Ding wäre und ich da sehr drin aufgehen könnte. Meine Frau sagt immer dass ich dann am glücklichsten bin wenn es um ein technisches Problem geht das ich lösen muss.

Jetzt kristallisiert sich heraus dass ich die Tätigkeit als Erzieher nicht unbedingt bis zur Rente machen kann und möchte und mir ist die Möglichkeit zur 2 jährigen Umschulung zum Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration begegnet. Mein Gefühl sagt mir das würde gut zu mir passen. Auch im Umgang mit Menschen kann ich sehr charismatisch und begeisternd auftreten. Habe nebenher 7 Jahre in der Promo und an einer Hotelrezeption gejobbt.

Das hört sich jetzt alles ein bißchen skurill an aber mich würde interessieren wie ihr meine Überlegung zu einer Umschulung einschätzt. Denkt ihr das könnte für mich passen oder wäre das eine schlechte Idee.

Hallo zusammen ! Ich arbeite seit knapp 18 Jahren als Erzieher in einer Grundschule und komme so langsam an meine Grenzen.

Ich bin jetzt 44 Jahre alt und merke zunehmend dass ich keine Aufstiegsmöglichkeiten in meinem Job habe und mittlerweile sich der Alltag zunehmend nach bloßer Beaufsichtigungs - Arbeit anfühlt. Zumindest habe ich das Gefühl dass es zu mehr außerhalb der obligatorischen Kursangebote immer weniger Raum gibt.

Meine Tätigkeiten gestalten sich über den Tag sehr gleichförmig, früher hatte ich das Gefühl mehr mitbestimmen zu können und wirklich Teil des Kernteams zu sein, aber mittlerweile habe ich das Gefühl immer wieder in "Nebenräumen" eingeteilt zu sein und immer weniger mitzubekommen was wirklich in der Einrichtung "passiert". Mittlerweile gibt es jüngere Kolleginnen die viel präsenter sind und denen meiner Ansicht nach auch mehr Wertschätzung entgegengebracht wird als mir. Ich habe das Gefühl keine gute Aussicht auf meine Zukunft zu haben.

Außerdem wurde ich von Trägerseite mittlerweile von 30 auf 25 Stunden reduziert, weil das nicht mehr finanzierbar war. Aber das betraf alle. Zur gleichen Zeit stellte ich fest dass immer mehr studentische Kräfte eingestellt wurden, die dann die Mehrstunden bekommen haben zu natürlich viel günstigerer Bezahlung und der Träger natürlich so an den Fachkräften sparen konnte. Vollbeschäftigung bzw 30 Stunden sind in meiner Einrichtung nicht möglich.

Ich überlege wie lange ich den Job wirklich noch machen kann und möchte, da ich immer wieder spüre dass die Unzufriedenheit und auch ein Gefühl der Resignation sich in mir breit macht. Das Ganze tut natürlich auch meinem Selbstbild nicht gut und ich habe auch Angst wie das wäre wenn es jetzt immer mehr aufs Alter zugeht. Aufstiegsmöglichkeiten sind auch nicht in Sicht.

Ich habe den Job immer sehr gern und auch professionell gemacht und die Arbeit mit den Kindern sehr genossen. Aber es fühlt sich einfach alles zunehmend irrelevant an und ich finde mich selbst irgendwie merkwürdig auf dem "Abstellgleis" wieder. Ich überlege welche Perspektiven es gäbe zur Umschulung oder Weiterbildungen oder andere Felder, die als Erzieher evtl erfüllender sind. Kennt ihr evtl die Situation, die ich beschreibe und wie seit ihr damit umgegangen.

Hab vor ca 4 Wochen nach monatelanger Suche endlich eine Portasplit bei Obi bekommen. Nach nichtmal 18 Stunden Betriebszeit dann der erste P1 Fehler. Das Gerät pumpt auch nicht mehr richtig ab, bzw nur tröpfchenweise wenn überhaupt. Hab jetzt vor über einer Woche ein Support Ticket bei Midea aufgemacht und warte seitdem immernoch auf Antwort. Keine Reaktion bisher. Hat jemand nen Tip wie ich da am besten vorher soll ? Das Gerät ist nagelneu.

What's your favourite preamp setting with the Sire V3

I got it since yesterday but I am still struggling with the preamp. What would you recommend for a nice tone with this Instrument.

Hey there, bought a used Sire V3 yesterday. The bass is in great condition and looks like new but the strings sounded dull. So I went to the store today and bought a new set of strings. I was asking for .45-105 since that are the strings that were recommended for the Bass in my online research. But the Store had only 0.50-105. The problem is that I now have awful fretbuzz on the first fret E string that I cant get rid off. I adjusted the truss rod and the neck relief looks alright. But the action is crazy high now.. (3mm on the 12th fret) and still rattling on the first fret. Are those strings simply too thick ? The guy in the store told me they would be alright :/

Hey everyone !

Just bought my first Surfboard today. It's the inflatable STX 280. The guy who sold it to me showed me how to setup everything once. So far so good. I know what I have to look for when setup but what I absolutely forgot is how to rig the rope properly at the bottom of the sail at that pulley.

Do you know any good video for a beginner which shows the process in detail ? I found one from STX where everything is shown pretty good but exactly that pulley thing is left out :/

I am planning to go to the Lake tomorrow and I am already afraid I will fail to Set Up the sail.

I am playing guitar for over 30 years now but somehow decided to start playing Bass (want to learn a new Instrument). For my guitar I used a Line 6 GX and pod farm 2 for recording and practice along with a vox pathfinder and a fender custom champ + orange micro terror. I ve learned that it's not good to use guitar amps for the Bass but would the Line 6 GX audio interface a good option for home practice ? What combo would you recommend for home practice. I am looking for an affordable option (just starting). I was looking at a fender rumble 15 but heard those are awful.

I tried the VR Version yesterday. Played until the numbers riddle with the portraits. Unfortunatley the experience was so janky I couldn't go on. Performance was also pretty disappointing even with a 9070XT. So I refunded the game but the story was pretty interesting and I played the normal version today. The difference is night and day and the pacing is so much better because all that janky VR mechanics are gone (which were badly implemented). I find the game plays way more smooth this way. What's your experience? Do you agree or prefer the VR Version. I think it's not a good port.

I am looking at two offers at the moment and just can`t decide:

I could get a Fanatic Viper Air + complete Rig in good condition for 590 Euros, the other option would be the STX iWindsurf + complete Rig also in good condition but for 950 euros.

I am returning beginner (made a course + license a few years back but had a break with windsurfing for the last two years). Because we only have a pretty small car and limited space here a hardboard is not an option :/

I am looking to get a inflatable for relaxed windsurfing at the local lake on the weekends in light wind conditions so it doesn`t need to be high performance or sth like that. I am still at the basics.

Which one of the two would you choose ?

Edit: The STX is from 2022 .. the Viper Air model is from 2018

What's your opinion and expirience in inflatable Surfboards like the fanatic Viper Air or STX iWindsurf. Do you think those are valid alternatives to traditional hardboards or are they a complete waste of money ?

I'm thinking about buying a used Fanatic Viper Air 358 as a complete beginner/returning windsurf package and would love to hear your opinions.

The package includes:

• Fanatic Viper Air 358
• 6.5 m² sail
• 4-piece mast
• Complete rig
• Everything is in good used condition.

I'm 184 cm (6'0") tall and weigh around 100 kg (220 lbs). I used to windsurf a bit, but I've had a 2-year break, so I'm basically starting over.

My goal isn't high-performance planing or jumping. I mainly want to cruise around on local lakes in light to moderate winds and just enjoy relaxed sessions.

One thing I'd like to mention is that I've only ever sailed hard boards. I have no experience at all with inflatable windsurf boards, so I'm curious how they compare in terms of stability, performance, and overall feel on the water.

The seller is asking €590 for the complete package.

Do you think this is a good choice for someone my size and intended use? Is the Viper Air 358 suitable for a heavier rider who's getting back into the sport? And does the price seem fair?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences with this board. Thanks!

Bräuchte für eine mobile Klima Anlage einen Adapter für einen Schlauchaufsatz. Hab ne Datei aber leider ist mein 3D Drucker (Bambu Lab A1 Mini) zu klein dafür. Jemand Erfahrung wo man in Aachen günstig etwas drucken lassen kann ?
