He did it on purpose!
Part of my VHS collection!
Yes, it’s like a commercial, but I’m trying to help them get the word out. Super cool staff, and who in this sub wouldn’t want to go here? Please keep it up, or tell me a better place to post it?
Tickets to the next one on July 25th can be found HERE
The pictures I’ve seen before don’t do this place justice!
EDIT: Had no idea that so many people would be interested, so I made a video to introduce myself, and tell you my thoughts. Thank you very much for the feedback!
I had a brick and mortar record shop in downtown Springfield, MO for a few years, and my daughter lives in Jasper County. I've thought about potentially opening a location in Joplin or the surrounding area.
I still have a great online presence and several flea market locations in Springfield, do you think there's room for another vintage media business in your area?
Any pros/cons that current business owners want to put out there when it comes to running a business in Jasper County?
I am in the very early stages of considering this, and it may never come to pass. At this point, I'm just curious to know if this is something that people in Joplin or close by would want. Let me know!
They turned our comedy open mic into a music mic, so I put on this epic maraca performance. The first song was a cover, but the second was completely original. #pivot

The father in this video has a legal parenting plan. He went to visit his child after school on a day when the plan said he was allowed to do so. Mom worked at the school, and the crossing guard called the police on the father when he arrived.
When pulled over, the father asked the officer "why did you pull me over?" to which the responding officer said "expired tags", which was true. However, less than around 2 minutes later, there were 4 cop cars on the scene, and 6 officers. Father declined to answer any questions about anything other than expired tags, which is why he believes that the officer called him a name and told the other officer to write every ticket possible.
The father has the entire stop on video, but has only let this out so far. Was it illegal for the other officer to question the father about trying to see his child, after the reason for the stop had been established? Did the officer do anything else that was illegal?
The father still has a valid parenting plan in the state of Missouri, and has not seen his child in over 30 months.
I buy records, CD’s, Cassettes, VHS, Laserdisc, and more!
I own a vintage media company called Heavy Heads Records that sells vinyl, CD's, cassettes, etc. I'm also a stand up comic in Southwest, MO.
I sell a lot of vintage cassettes, and also cassette blanks. When a customer buys cassettes, I know that they are going to listen to them. When they are a repeat customer, or they order a bunch of cassettes, I like to add a mixtape to their order for free.
I've added comics from my local scene to mixtapes before, and now I'd like to expand and ask if anyone here wants to be on a tape? Basically, I use a good joke or two from each comic, and do a voice over of the comic's instagram tag, so that the listener can find the comic online if they choose to.
It doesn't pay anything, and I will never sell the tapes for a profit. My goal is to make people aware of new artists for free, in an old school way, while making my customers extra happy. That being said, if you have an interest in being on the next tape, let me know! - Chris
