Want to hire a local designer and need help figuring out a budget.

I'm putting on a comedy show where I had to rent a venue, and also have to pay the comics out of the ticket sales. Do you think a fair price to have someone design the flyer should come from a percentage of what it cost me to rent the venue, or should it come from a percentage of the estimated amount of ticket revenue? The flyer would be tied into advertising for the show, so what's a good percentage of anticipated revenue do promotors typically spend on advertising, and what percentage of that should go to the creation of the flyer? Is it acceptable to make a deal to pay the designer a percentage of ticket sales on the back end, minus the other marketing fees like FB ads and printing physical flyers? I would rather support a local designer than generate something from AI, but it doesn't make sense for a flyer to eat up the majority of the budget for the show. What's reasonable?

Looking for a graphic artist to design a NON "AI SLOP" flyer for this show. Payment will be a mixture of cash and a two free tickets. Please submit an email and examples of your previous work to the email below for consideration. Thank you!

EDIT: FOUND SOMEONE! I would still appreciate emails from anyone else who might want to work together on a future project, or who don't mind being referred to other local promoters or business owners. I think most people would rather use an actual designer vs. AI, if they were easily accessible.

Nearly 3 Years Without Meaningful Contact With My Child - Two Family Access Motions and a Show Cause Matter Still Unresolved

I am a Missouri father who has gone nearly three years without meaningful contact with my child while an existing parenting plan remains in place and has never been vacated by any court.

My child was 13 when this began, they are now 16.

I fear I may ultimately lose custody even though to date, I cannot identify any court finding previously establishing cause for nearly three years without meaningful parent-child contact, having had no in person visits since November of 2023, and only one phone call being allowed since April of 2024.

I am posting this because I need Missouri attorneys, appellate attorneys, journalists, and people familiar with family court procedure to review the public record and tell me what I am missing.

The counsel representing the opposing party in my case is a former board member of Good Dads, a 501c3 which exists to encourage fathers to be more involved in their children’s lives, provides resources and programs to help fathers be better parents, and describes programs aimed at strengthening father child relationships and keeping fathers connected to their children.

I do not know when this attorney left the organization, but I do know he was still a board member of Good Dads when this case started. Good Dads now has a statewide network, with its website listing 17 Missouri chapters and 18 communities joining the Good Dads network.

Case numbers:

Greene County: 1131-CV03620-04

Jasper County: 24AP-FC00324

I am not asking Reddit to decide my custody case nor am I asking anyone to contact the court, the other parent, opposing counsel, or anyone else involved. I am asking people to examine the public docket and follow the procedural history for themselves.

Here is what I cannot reconcile:

Missouri §452.400 provides that final disposition of a Family Access Motion is to occur within 60 days after service unless that requirement is waived by the parties or the court determines otherwise based upon the best interest of the child.

In Greene County, the docket shows that a judge was assigned on 12/13/2023, almost a month before the initial modification filing occurred. The Family Access Motion was filed 1/16/2024, and properly served on 1/23/2024. On 3/20/2024, nearly 60 days after service, the defendant was given 20 days to respond to the Family Access Motion. Defendant filed an answer to the Family Access Motion on 4/29/2024, but it remained unheard in Greene County over 90 days after service, before the case was transferred to Jasper County.

More than two years later, the Family Access Motion and Show Cause Order have still never received a final disposition.

In Jasper County, the Family Access Motion was filed and later amended. Formal service subsequently became an issue, but Respondent filed an answer to the motion through counsel. This Family Access Motion remains unresolved.

There was also a Show Cause matter concerning compliance with the existing court orders. The Show Cause order was issued on 6/12/2024, and a summons was issued for a hearing 7/24/2024. The Show Cause order does not appear to have been taken up or adjudicated at the hearing on 7/24/2024.

It is now August of 2026. The subsequent attorneys I hired do not appear to have noticed the show cause and Family Access Motion discrepancies when they initially reviewed the case, filing motions for therapeutic counseling instead. I am happy to privately explain to a licensed Missouri attorney, or journalist why there is a motion for a successor therapeutic counselor pending.

There is another part of this procedural history that I believe is relevant. My initial Jasper County attorney represented me during a hearing concerning my child's schooling. Following that hearing, the court ordered my child to attend a private Christian school over my objection.

My attorney subsequently withdrew from the case with leave of the court, providing no reason in his withdrawal letter docketed with the court, or to me. I was left to represent myself, when there were still many pending matters on the docket and discovery issues that had not been completed.

The case continued, and I filed what I knew how to file at the time.

Since then, I have hired additional attorneys, spent thousands of dollars on legal representation, and am now proceeding pro se again.

I have no criminal charges arising from this situation, or otherwise.

There is no order of protection against me.

And the proceedings intended to address the lack of parent child contact remained unresolved.

I have had an extremely hard time getting any attorney to take this case at this point.

After representing myself at a recent pretrial conference, the court has now scheduled an evidentiary hearing for September 11, 2026 addressing the Show Cause matter, Family Access Motion, my motion concerning a successor therapeutic provider/visitation, and my request for a custody evaluation.

I am currently preparing, pro se, to conduct discovery, introduce evidence, question witnesses, and cross-examine professionals at that hearing.

These are the questions I am trying to get answered:

  1. Why was the properly served and answered Greene County Family Access Motion not finally disposed of within 60 days?

  2. If the statutory deadline was waived or extended based upon my child's best interest, where is that reflected in the record?

  3. Why did the Jasper County Family Access Motion remain unresolved after Respondent answered it?

  4. What happened procedurally between the June 12, July 3, and July 24, 2024 Jasper County docket entries?

  5. Why was the Show Cause matter not adjudicated when it had already been scheduled for hearing while I was represented by counsel in July of 2024?

  6. Why did these enforcement matters then remain unresolved for more than two additional years?

And the question that matters most to me:

What court finding or order explains nearly three years without meaningful parent child contact while the proceedings intended to address that lack of contact remained unresolved?

I am not asking anyone to simply believe my version of events, I have provided the case numbers because I want people to be able to independently verify the chronology. I would also like it if anyone can point out any discrepancies I may not be aware of.

The dates, motions, answers, docket entries, and orders tell a story that I have struggled to reconcile with the current status of the case. If there is something in the record that explains this, I genuinely want someone knowledgeable to point me toward it.

I have extensive documentation and copies of the relevant filings, orders, discovery, correspondence, and other records. I am willing to provide those materials to licensed Missouri attorneys or legitimate journalists who want to independently examine the procedural history.

Upon face value, it may appear to some that I am to blame. However, if someone is truly willing to listen, I can provide many details and documentation that will prove that I’ve simply continued to identify and question discrepancies as this case has moved along.

I am also not asking anyone to take my side, and I'm not asking for money. I have the means to pay for another attorney, and although I continue to try to secure counsel, I feel I've exhausted all of my options in the counties in close proximity to the case. It seems most attorneys do not want to get into a case with this posture, that has gone on for this length of time.

I am asking people to review the public record, follow the chronology, and tell me whether there is something important that I am missing.

If you are a Missouri family law attorney, appellate attorney, journalist, or someone with substantial knowledge of Missouri family court procedure, I would sincerely appreciate your perspective. If, for some reason the docket disappears from case net, I can provide you with a .pdf via email. Thank you.

This is too cool to be flagged as spam.

Yes, it’s like a commercial, but I’m trying to help them get the word out. Super cool staff, and who in this sub wouldn’t want to go here? Please keep it up, or tell me a better place to post it?
