Before actually erasing after 10 failed passcode attempts, does my iphone go into “iphone unavailable” for (x amount of time) before actually erasing?
If I enter the wrong passcode 5 times, then I use Face ID, does the limit reset back to zero?
Does the wrong passcode have to be entered in consecutively for the erase to happen?
Does the erase happen immediately after the 10 attempts have been reached?
Will my eSIM also be deleted from my iPhone?
Im on an iPhone 17 pro max running the latest version of iOS just to clarify.
So, I used to have my dad’s phone number on my Instagram account and that’s where the security notifications and like username change notifications would go. I changed it to my number a few months ago but when I changed my username today he got the text, not me. Is there a way I can fix it to where he stops getting them and I can get them?
Is it a bad/risky idea to download those free VPN’s from the App Store? A friend I know apparently got malware on their phone after they downloaded one of those free vpn apps from the App Store. Is it a bad idea?

Do those free VPN apps on the App Store cause malware to iPhones? A few years ago, I downloaded this one free VPN app called “VPN super unlimited proxy” or something along those lines and I ended up getting a virus on my iPhone where I would get logged out of all my apps. I always thought it was caused by the free VPN. Are the free VPN apps on the App Store not trustworthy and sketchy to use?
I heard mixed opinions about WhatsApp allowing VoIP numbers.
I noticed that when I tried putting in the number in WhatsApp, I wasn’t getting sent the verification code. Is it a paid feature now?

if i delete my notes from icloud and i erase my iphone and i restore from a backup that has them will they reappear or will they still be gone?
So, if I backup my phone via Mac and then I press “turn off and delete from iCloud” on iCloud backups in my iPhone settings and I erase the backup that’s stored on my phone (not the Mac) when I erase my phone, will I be able to restore the data from the backup I did on the Mac or will pressing turn off and delete also delete the backup that was on the Mac?
