A former coworker claimed my business years ago - now I can't get it back.

Earlier this month someone left a review on my business. The comments are all suspicious, and the poster is from the wrong state.

I'm trying to claim my business, but it's registered under a former employee who left ~15 years ago. I have no contact with this person.

I reached out to Yelp Support two weeks ago. The auto-response said I would hear something in 1-3 business days. Still nothing - so yesterday I called and sat on hold for 30 minutes. No one came on the line. I submitted a "bug" report yesterday, trying a different path of contact.

Would anyone have tips or other suggestions? For a company that handles reviews of other businesses, how can we rate yelp?

Could a data center come to Bloomington?

Please, no talk of the jail/property or random political gibberish...

In reading about more and more communities protesting and banning data centers, I wonder if Bloomington/Monroe County has any formal policies - either to allow or prevent?

Given Lake Monroe's proximity, I don't know if it would be a strong supply source for a center. Add in the limestone and all, and I don't know how cost-effective it would be to build one locally.

I know Indianapolis is looking at centers - https://www.indy.gov/topic/data-centers - and wondering how far out they would impact residents.

I'm trying to research, but perhaps there is factual information others could share.

Newly diagnosed - what should I know before my first pair of hearing aids?

M50

I’ve been noticing my hearing doesn’t seem great. Sitting at dinner this week with friends and I could hear things but not always discern what was being said.

I booked an appointment at my Sam’s Club (free exam) and went today. The result - one ear is at 25% loss and the other at 33%. The doctor was great - very kind and thorough. She said I’m probably getting close to needing hearing aids, and it could be better long-term to start now.

Given this was two hours ago, I’m brand new to all this. I definitely plan to research and see what might be available, but any guidance is appreciated.

Creating an image with text that looks like a newspaper clipping

I'm working on a program for a group celebrating 50 years. I've researched and found a number of old newspaper articles that I would like to include - but, the images are blurry and taken from microfilm.

Any suggestions of taking the text and putting onto a Canva page that looks like a newspaper page/article? I know it won't be exact, but I'm wanting to try and replicate the feel of things...

Office Depot / TSA Pre-Check

EDIT - Solved. For whatever reason, Office Depot is not listed as an option on the TSA website. However, going to the Bloomington Office Depot page, clicking Services then Travel Services, you can schedule a TSA appointment.

***

I need to enroll in TSA Pre-Check, and the website says that Office Depot in Bloomington is the closest location.

However, after I completed the online application, I'm directed to an office in Indianapolis.

Does anyone know if I can go to Office Depot to finalize everything? I can't call right now (in a meeting), but thought Reddit might know.

I'm needing this for a flight next month.

Thanks...

Large scanner availability (newspaper-size)?

I'm wanting to scan some full-pages of newspapers, but not sure where to check. I reached out to the Monroe County Public Library, and they have scanners - but the images would all require being stitched together.

The pages are older and have folds, so laying them out and photographing them would be tough - plus the text may be hard to read.

Any other options/suggestions?

What lights do you leave on at night?

For as long as I can remember, my parents always left the light over the stove on at night. It was a dim bulb, so not so bright that it bothered you if you got up to get a drink... but bright enough that you didn't stub your toe, or could see the dog walking around.

I still turn on the stove light every night, and I also turn on the porch lights - one by the front door and one by the garage (opposite side of the front of the house). I don't do a backyard light (not sure why, considering it's more likely someone would come in through the dark)...

Last night I let my dog out and looked around my little neighborhood, and realized most people don't leave lights on outside. I don't know if it's because they think the other lights are enough, if they don't bother with it or something else.

So... do you leave any internal or external lights on in your home at night?

Fonts that are all caps - but distinguish height for "capital" letters

Are there any fonts that are all capital letters, but typing a true capital letter makes it larger than the others?

I know I can do different text boxes and all that, but I'm trying to simplify the process. This would be a multi-page piece.

Make-up/fashion contributor to Good Morning America - who was it?

One of those random conversation topics that went into the weeds…

A couple people in a group recall a woman as a contributor to Good Morning America back in the 1980s (maybe early 1990s, too). She did fashion/beauty and maybe some Hollywood interviews as well. She had one name, and we think her segment had a pink neon image of her name.

Does anyone remember this? Who was she?? It’s driving us nuts!!
