Why don’t cities hire The Walt Disney Company or Disneyland designers to plan entire cities?

They seem to have very good design & layout tho (I’m genuinely asking & I’m new to this subreddit)

I’d like to know more about city planning & layout. I feel like Disneyland seems to be very planned, beautiful, and give a little bit of frutiger aero vibes (which is my favorite)

Why is Malaysian Football so Bad?

What makes the Malaysian national football team perform so poorly?

Football is the most popular sport in Malaysia, or at the very least, futsal is played everywhere across the country and has become deeply embedded in Malaysian sporting activities.

A huge amount of money has been spent on building stadiums, developing the domestic league, and investing in football academies throughout the country. FAM also have naturalized many heritage & foreign players from overseas.

So why does Malaysian football still struggle so much on the international stage? In the most recent AFF Championship (2024), Malaysia only finished in the group stage, failed to qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup, and could only reach the second round of World Cup qualification.

Even some sports that are less popular in Malaysia have achieved better performance in the international stage.

So what exactly is holding Malaysian football back despite being the country’s most popular sport? What are the solutions?

What if Australia had more habitable geography and a population of over 100 million?

As an Australian, do you think it’s better for Australia to remain a smaller nation, or would it be better if Australia had more livable land and a much larger population?

Which universe would you prefer?

Does the Wizarding World have any lore set in Asia?

So, I’m a relatively new Harry Potter fan from Asia. I know there are already a few Asian-related pieces of lore, such as Nagini being originally from Indonesia and the Mahoutokoro wizarding school from Japan.

But I’m curious, does the Wizarding World have any deeper or larger-scale lore/stories set in Asia? For example, could be a major magical events, famous urban legends, large wizarding civilizations, spells from asia, or even magical wars that took place somewhere in Asia?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be set in modern times either. I’d honestly love to hear about stories set during the medieval era or even ancient times if there are any.

And if the lore/stories that I’m looking for exists, do you think it would work well as a movie or TV series adaptation?

Does the Wizarding World have any lore in Ancient Rome or other Ancient Civilizations?

I’ve always been curious about the deeper history of the Harry Potter universe. The series explores medieval wizard history quite a bit, especially with Hogwarts being founded around the 10th century, but I rarely hear people talk about the Wizarding World during ancient times.

Does the canon ever mention how wizards/dynasty lived during eras like Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, Egypt, Mesopotamia, or other early civilizations?

Were there magical governments, famous ancient wizards, or interactions between the magical and non-magical worlds back then?

I’m especially interested in whether there’s any official lore, references from J.K. Rowling, Pottermore/Wizarding World articles, or even hints about how magic fit into ancient empires and societies.

Why Do Australians Seem So Uninterested in the Supernatural/Paranormal Things?

G’day Australians 👋

I’ve always been curious about something: why does Australia seem to have so few supernatural urban legends or ghost stories compared to many other countries? It also feels like Australians themselves rarely talk about paranormal experiences.

I’m a 27-year-old man from Indonesia. In my country, paranormal stories and urban legends are everywhere, you can hear them almost 24/7. I’m sure many of you who have visited Bali have also heard plenty of stories related to spirits, haunted places, or local folklore.

Even though I’ve never personally experienced anything supernatural, I’ve always loved the horror genre, such as: urban legends, horror movies, friends’ stories, documentaries, witchcraft, dark magic, and haunted folklore in general.

Whenever I travel overseas, I often visit haunted places or join ghost tours because I enjoy learning about the history and legends behind them.

I’ve traveled to places like Thailand, India, Russia, the UK, China, Japan, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and even the United States. In many of those countries (even in the US), people were enthusiastic about sharing horror stories, urban legends, or even their own paranormal experiences. I also enjoy watching and reading supernatural documentaries from regions like South America and Africa.

But one place that always stood out to me was Australia.

I studied in Sydney for six months during my bachelor days as an exchange student, and honestly, Australia felt extremely livable, modern, vibrant, and almost completely disconnected from anything horror-related.

Whenever I asked Australian friends about scary experiences, most of them talked about nearly drowning, almost falling off cliffs, dangerous wildlife, or getting skin cancer from the harsh UV exposure, literally none ghost stories. That felt very different compared to people from many other countries, who usually immediately mention spirits or supernatural encounters when I asked that kind of question.

Even now, whenever I search online for Australian horror folklore or urban legends, there seems to be very little content, and the interest around it also looks quite small. I visited Sydney again three years ago for holiday, and the hotel I stayed at, they offered a “haunted places tour” package, but it honestly felt more like a light entertainment attraction for business rather than something with deep folklore or strong ghost lore behind it.

The only supernatural-related things I know about Australia are stories about workers’ bodies being trapped inside the cement of the Harbour Bridge, or claims that the Opera House was built on sacred Aboriginal land, but even those topics rarely seem to be discussed among younger Australians.

So I’m genuinely curious: why does Australia seem to have so few supernatural horror stories or urban legends? Is it simply not something Australians are interested in, or am I just missing up something?

What if the Assassination Attempt on Hitler had succeeded in 1944?

The July 20 plot was a failed attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944.

It involved a number of both civilian and military officials.

The motivations of the conspirators and their place in the history of the Third Reich remain an area of intense debate.

How to Cook Simple & Healthy Meals

I’m an international student that wants to start learning how to cook.

I want to cook a meal that includes:

- Carbohydrates (anything)
- Protein (meat-based)
- Vitamins & Minerals (vegetables)
- Fruits (anything)

My question is: how can I cook all of this with simple ingredients, less effort, and beginner-friendly methods? (Considering I’m still a beginner at cooking 😅)

Do you guys have any menu ideas?

What if Australia is more habitable and Having more than 100 Million Population?

Economically — Would Australia become one of the world’s largest economies with stronger industries, manufacturing, and global companies instead of relying heavily on mining and resources?

Politically — Would Australia become a much more influential global power with greater influence over the Asia-Pacific region and international affairs?

Socially — How would Australian society, national identity, immigration, and multiculturalism evolve with such a massive population increase?

Urban development — Would inland megacities emerge and completely transform the country’s infrastructure and transportation systems?

Culturally — Would Australian media, music, film, and culture become much more globally influential?

Geopolitically — How would neighboring countries and major powers like the United States and China react to a far more populous and powerful Australia?
