Ordering From Bidet King Website - Any Issues

I am planning to order my Toto S7A today.

Bidet King per their website has the best price.

This seems to be the type of fungible product that comes in a box from the manufacturer so the actual website isn't supplying much except adequate shipping and obviously sending the right model.

I am not averse to spending more in order to not have a headache but obviously for a fungible product saving some money is always nice.

Other option would be Home Depot which also has a fairly low price and I assume that the washlet is going to be the same as every other washlet and not some inferior SKU

ETA: I have no interest in purchasing from Amazon as I would be able to get it for essentially the same price from Lowes or Home Depot and both stores are close to me and I could handle issues in person.

There are many rational reasons for not purchasing expensive items from Amazon and I am a Prime Member and have been since 2000 but I limit my purchases to relatively low cost items which are convenient for me to order especially with Subscribe and Save.

Question For Owners of Toto S7A

I am replacing my current Toto washlet which is the 550e

I plan to replace it with the S7A which is the equivalent newer model.

Two questions for current owners

How long is the remote? I can't find this information on the specification sheets and since it runs horizontal versus the current remote for the 550e, I am trying to figure out where I can place it on the wall - e.g. whether it will fit horizontal where the current remote is installed vertically

Also I see that there is a "contemporary" and 'classic" style. I am leaning towards the contemporary seat as it looks cleaner versus the beveled seat. Anyone have thoughts on this.

The Anatomy of Amber's Shelf Portrayed

I along with others wondered exactly how Amber's shelf actually was a part of her body

And then lo and behold (no pun intended) a short clip of a 600 Pound life person appeared on my Youtube feed and this must be how that shelf on Amber's back is actually formed

It isn't actually clear whether the shelf is anatomically buttocks and where the actual anus would be but I think I solved the mystery of how it is attached to her body

How it grew that way will remain a mystery. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Apple TV Intermittently Stops Streaming

This is mildly annoying because I can't figure out why it is happening because it is so random and intermittent which makes it impossible to troubleshoot

Yesterday morning Apple TV wouldn't stream anything. Check network connection - it was fine. Rebooted a few times to no avail.

Check Wifi on other devices including connecting to streamers on my iPad - no problems

Used the native iOS on my LG and content streamed fine although the interface is such trash that it is incredibly frustrating to use - but if I eventually found the applicable App then it was fine and the remote has direct buttons to Netflix and Amazon but I was in the middle of watching something on Acorn and LG doesn't even have an App for that streamer.

So left it to do other stuff for about an hour and then thought I would see if the Apple TV was working - and yes it was. Perfectly fine and still perfectly fine more than 24 hours later.

HDMI is new - haven't shifted the Apple TV or the TV so connections aren't disturbed and since Wifi is fine I don't think it is issues with the modem/router or signal from my ISP

Best Method for Ripening Peaches or Stone Fruit

I was taught that if peaches or other stone fruit are a bit hard to put them in a brown paper bag and check every 24 hours to see if they are ripe and should be moved to the refrigerator.

I am having inconsistent results as often a few will get brown spots or even mold but still not be ripe while others are fine. I am not worried about safety as I can cut around brown spots.

I am careful to put them in carefully with no obvious bruises.

They are not damp and I do NOT wash them prior to putting them in the bag.

What might I be doing wrong?

[Condo] [CA] BBQ On Patio Burns Down 51 Unit Condo Complex - California

There have been some threads regarding BB!Q grills in condos and townhouses

The case is a California case but I would imagine it is relevant to condos and townhouses in most locations.

Most municipalities have regulations in which BBQ grills that have flames are prohibited if they are closer than 10 feet from the structure which generally prevents people from having them on their balcony or even on a patio in a typical townhouse configuration.

There have sometimes been comments from people who think this is over reaching by the HOA

Here is an article indicating that a condo was burned level - 51 units because one of the residents had a propane grill on their patio which caught fire - yes he was probably an idiot but fire laws and HOA Rules exist to prevent idiots from creating havoc at the expense of other residents.

This is from an email sent by the law firm which our condo uses - Adams Stirling which also has a really useful website which contains information on all manner of HOA governance.

>PROPANE BBQ  BURNS DOWN CONDO COMPLEX

>On Sunday, August 2, a propane barbecue on a first-floor patio sparked a 6-alarm fire that destroyed a 51-unit condo complex, injured firefighters, and displaced more than 150 people. Residents were not allowed into what remained of the building for fear of a total building collapse.

>A resident was using a propane barbecue and allegedly left it unattended. He was later arrested by the police. This should be a wake-up call for condominium associations throughout California.

>Statistics. For the years 2020 to 2024, the National Fire Protection Association reported that fires caused by grills, hibachis, and barbecues averaged 12,141 annually. The fires caused 15 deaths, 171 injuries, and $241 million in property damage, with gas grills involved in 76% of the fires.

>Fire Codes. California Fire Codes prohibit open-flame cooking devices on combustible balconies and within 10 feet of combustible surfaces at residential buildings with more than 2 dwelling units. In addition, propane containers with a capacity greater than 1 pound cannot be transported through enclosed common-area stairs, hallways, or elevators. They must be transported into the unit through an exterior stairway.

>Insurance. I asked insurance specialist Michael Berg, a VP with Labarre Oksnee, about the fire. An owner's personal condo insurance (HO-6) likely covers accidental cooking-fire damage to their unit, but coverage may be denied if the barbecue violated fire codes or the association's rules. The association's master insurance policy may also be compromised if it allowed owners to have open-flame barbecues on their balconies in violation of fire codes or failed to enforce rules prohibiting them. Prohibiting open-flame cooking equipment on balconies would likely be a condition for renewing an association's insurance policy.

>Rules & Regulations. Boards of directors should amend their rules to prohibit open-flame devices on all balconies and either prohibit or strictly regulate them on ground-floor decks. This will protect the HOA in the event of a fire and in response to questions from the carrier regarding loss control practices. Once adopted, boards must enforce the restriction. Lack of enforcement could become a liability in the event of a fire. If a resident with a barbecue grill on his balcony starts a fire that spreads to neighboring units, the neighbors will likely sue the association for negligence and breach of fiduciary duties for failing to enforce its rules.

>Litigation. I recently testified as an expert in a case where an association sued an owner to compel him to remove an unapproved brick barbecue on his patio that was built against the wall of the building with a bootlegged natural gas line and unsafe electrical wiring. The association prevailed, and the owner was ordered to remove it.

>Recommendation: When an owner creates a safety hazard and refuses to correct it, boards should be willing to go to the mat to protect the membership.

My Spaghetti Poodle Kennel

I had to dislodge my collection of spaghetti poodles from the 1950's which were all housed in the unit that houses one of my televisions.

They were all safe in there but I rotated a larger one into their kennel and also because it is larger they all couldn't fit.

I moved some to my bedroom but I still have an overflow of homeless canines.

Toto S7 Installation Questions

My Toto 550e has evidently given up the ghost after a bit more than 8 years of valiant service and so I am going to replace it with an S7 which is the most current version incorporating the features of the 550e with some additional benefits.

I will be using a plumber to do it but I have some questions in terms of what the end result will be.

My 550e was installed when I did a remodel so it was a fait accompli when I moved back in complete with the remote mounted in its cradle in the perfect position

So these are my questions in terms of how to prepare for the new one

  1. I have a Connect+ Toto toilet which enabled me to connect with only one hose. Is there anything specific I need to tell the plumber in order to have the same set up with the S7?

  2. I understand that auto flush is an option on the S7? My Toto toilet is not auto flush but I understand that there is a way to retro fit it out. I live alone so flushing isn't really a problem and so I don't think I particularly need auto flush. Is this something I should consider getting or just an additional potential headache if it malfunctions

  3. How is the cradle attached to the wall. As I wrote when I moved back in my remote was attached. It looks like the remote for the S7 is horizontal versus vertical so I am not sure what is going to happen when the old remote is removed

  4. Anything else I should be considering when I finalize with my plumber. His company is quite competent and have been using him over the years with no issues but I like to anticipate potential glitches so they don't become emergencies

Thanks for any insight.

Toto 550e - Is It Time To Replace

My Toto 550e has given me 8 years of dependable service but it has started to malfunction.

The water is tepid instead of warmish and it is a very feeble stream.

I would replace it with the S7 as that is the current equivalent.

I am inclined to just replace it as I am not going to take it apart and attempt to fix it.

I did change the batteries and so the signal to the remote is strong and the plug is firmly attached - once had a cleaner take out the plug and so I did check for that.

Is Hardacres Worth Continuing?

Obviously taste is subjective so ultimately I have to make my own decision.

I have way more content than time available to view.

I started Hardacres when it started its initial season.

I got through about the middle of the second episode and it just seemed cliched and buffoonish - like a British version of The Beverly Hillbillies set in the UK during the 19th Century.

Second season has dropped and so I am wondering if I should attempt to watch it again as maybe it changes and becomes less stereotyped and obvious

ETA Based on responses this is not a show that makes sense for me to try to watch.

I have loads of content - so much content I want to view that often my issue is that I don't know what to start.

I generally have different shows being watched which have different feels and so plenty of shows when I want to take a break from depressing crime shows - I mean but a change in mood is sometimes necessary or something which doesn't cause me to stay up in order to find out the mystery solution.

Not All NSV Are Positive 😂

I have lost 126 pounds as of today.

I do track my weight but I also have been logging my NSV

While some of these are very welcome - everything from fitting into clothing I had outgrown to being able to easily reach parts of my body like my toes to really scrub between.

I had noticed that my fore arms have been much thinner and I can even circle my wrist with my thumb and pointer finger which I haven't been able to do for a while and I have lost that pudgy looking fold at the wrist - I might go through my jewelry boxes for all those bracelets I wasn't wearing because they were too tight or just unflattering with fat hands.

But today I looked down while typing and realized that the back of my hands had obviously lost a layer of fat and so the veins there were now quite prominent. 😱

So bad with the good - the good definitely outweighs (no pun intended) the bad.

ETA I had to add a flair and I guess "side effects" is the most suitable flair. 😂

Thawed Frozen Fruit - How Long Is It Safe

I thawed a bag of frozen raspberries a few days ago and wound up not using them as planned.

They have been sealed in the factory bag and went from freezer to refrigerator to thaw and have been there since.

Would these be safe to eat?

Expired Yogurt

I have always been fine eating yogurt best the "expired date"

It is fermented and in my experience if dairy products are sealed in their container and smell and look fine, they are safe.

But I left a four pack of yogurt in the back of the refrigerator and it theoretically expired in June - so about a month.

If I open it up and it isn't moldy and looks fine - tastes normal and smells fine should I assume it will be fine to eat.

It's a shame to throw out $20 worth of yogurt that might be perfectly fine.

ETA So I had a yogurt cup which had expired at beginning of June. Opened it up and it looked and smelled fine. No deterioration and I tasted a bit and tasted fine. Had it with a cup up fresh peach.

If I suffer some kind of horrible side effects I will report back.

Should I Rate Shopper Or Just Let It Go

I got my order today and it was delivered fine - shopper was okay although I am relieved that I was following along in real time because he was replacing some items that I had asked to be refunded - but I can live with that.

My issue is that I had ordered some peaces, nectarines and even a bag of cherries and these were at the bottom of the bags with some cans on top - I don't know if the fruit is going to be damaged but it just seems obvious to me that you put fruit on top of cans in a bag.

I don't think I want to down grade want to down rate him because I am always hesitant to do this but I can't let him know that he should probably be putting peaches, plums and equivalent on top of a bag and not with cans on top.

You can't rate an order unless you assign it stars - so I am thinking best thing is to just let it go and leave it to someone else in the future.

I tipped $45 and don't want to reduce the tip - that isn't the issue although if the fruit hadn't been at the bottom I would probably have added an additional $5.00 as I usually do when everything goes well - this wasn't a huge order and I am about 1 mile or so from the store - maybe 30 items

Downloading LG Apps

I stream through Apple TV rather than the LG native software but today I decided to try out my streamers through the LG software.

Most of my Apps were downloaded and are working fine

However one of my streamers is Acorn TV and I couldn't locate that on the LG App Store or whatever it is in in terms of where you download Apps

Does anyone know whether LG actually has this App or the PBS App

The other glitch is that I my subscription to HBO/MAX and Paramount Plus is linked to my Spectrum account but I couldn't figure out how to link it as I couldn't sign in the way I could with my other streamers.

Any insight into this would be great

Apple TV Stops Streaming and Needs to Be Rebooted

This is a recent issue.

I have a new HDMI cord.

I know that the Wifi to my home is fine because when I switch to my LG native streaming, the Apps stream perfectly.

I checked the Network on the Apple TV system and it shows a strong signal and connected to the right Wifi in my home.

is there some kind of system conflict that is relatively recent?

I did get a new television (LG G6) - could there be some kind of conflict with the television?

And sometimes the Apple TV will be fine after a bit when I have done nothing.

Ice in My Kitcheaid Refrigerator Freezer Section

On Friday night I opened my freezer and noticed that there was ice in the freezer section and some ice on items in the freezer.

Everything is solid as is the items in the refrigerator section.

I got a recommendation for a good appliance repair shop and have scheduled an appointment.

However I just opened the freezer to retrieve something and now the ice that had accumulated - or more accurately the kind of frost is gone.

Any ideas of what might be going on?

I am still going to schedule the visit with the repair person so I do believe in being proactive if an item can use a bit of maintenance.

It is a KA which was installed when I remodeled in 2018 and has worked perfectly until now.

The model itself isn't sold but one that looks identical is still on the market. Mine is a Kitchenaid panel ready which is 72" high; 36" wide and counter depth

This is the model of my Kitchenaid refrigerator.

Kitchenaid Refrigerator -  this is the one I have

KitchenAid Panel Ready Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator - KRFC302EPA

Abt Model: KRFC302EPA | UPC Code: 883049360959

A very similar model is still being sold - it is the 72” freestanding 36” panel ready model - has slightly different model number but I assume it is essentially the same

KitchenAid KRFC136TPA

36 Inch Counter-Depth Freestanding French Door Refrigerator with 22 cu. ft. Total Capacity, Preserva® Food Care System, Interior Water Dispenser, Automatic Ice Maker, Ultra-Bright LED Lighting, and Sabbath Mode: Panel Ready

This is the link to the current model which seems identical to my older refrigerator
