Why are all these United jets ganging up on the one UPS jet like this?
And do you think they'll call again tomorrow?

And do you think they'll call again tomorrow?
Previous Rank: No. 21
Last Week: 2-1 @ CIN, 2-1 vs. BAL
With an 8-5 record in their last 13 games and a pair of series wins last week, the Nationals have gone from better-than-expected to making a serious push for a winning record more than a quarter of the way into the 2026 season. They lead the NL with a .785 team OPS in May, and that has helped cover up some of their shortcomings on the mound.
I love me some Nats, but that take is still a little too hot. 18th or 19 feels more correct to me.
The poor kid who flubbed that catch for the Mets last night already came into the game on the wrong side of the lolmets fanbase, because they issued him Gary Carter's unofficially retired #8 for his jersey number. Even before James Wood clowned him, the Mets had announced he's getting a new number for tonight. Rough start for a NoVA boy who grew up a Nats fan coming to watch Bryce Harper play. Maybe don't cross the ghost of Expos legend Gary Carter next time.
It's in a creek off the side of Rt. 29 in New Baltimore.
FYI I don't think you're allowed to park there.
For this team, very. Since winning game 7 of the world series in 2019, the Nats have entered a total of 24 games with a .500 or better record. They've won 4. Two of those came this year. As allergic as they've been to winning games to get to .500, their record in the game that comes next is...challenging. Here's to hoping this team is different!
2020 (all records are entering into the game):
Game 3 (1-1), lost
Game 9 (4-4), lost
2021:
Game 2 (1-0), lost

Just got MRI results today: "there is a prominent second webspace Morton's neuroma which measures approximately 9mm x 9mm x 4 mm in plantar dorsal longitudinal and transverse dimensions respectively." I've searched enough to understand the basics of what this is, what causes it, and what the potential treatment options are. What I don't know is what to expect in terms of the trajectory my doctor is likely to recommend (follow-up appointment is not for three weeks), or how much I should be limiting my physical activity until that appointment. I don't know what I don't know, and any and all experiences and observations are welcome.
By way of background I'm a 50 year old guy, who has had fairly flat feet since I was a kid. I've always worn wide width shoes, and never really dealt with foot pain. Last year I went through chemo for tonsil cancer (kicked its ass, I'm now cancer free), and one of the poisons gave me bad neuropathy in my feet. As that started to go away I noticed the feeling of a marble in the ball of my left foot. I'd have good days and bad days, and many days with no symptoms at all. Then about a month ago I had a weekend with lots of time on my feet and it flared up -- I could barely walk. That led to the MRI. I've been wearing wide running shoes instead of dress shoes, and the pain has largely subsidized. But even though I'm feeling mostly better the MRI revealed the large neuroma.
So there we are. Sorry for rambling, and thanks for any thoughts.
In a situation that has certainly not happened before to anyone else ever, my HS student is short on their required volunteer hours for the year. Their deadline is coming up on June 5. Does anyone know of any organizations in (or adjacent to) Arlington that have events coming up during May that might still be in need of unskilled but deadline motivated labor?
We'll be at the quarter poll in two games, and .500 is possible. Can anyone HONESTLY say they expected the team to be this competitive into May?
Maybe this is old news, but MLB.TV / Nats.tv finally added additional carriers to their previously limited authentication page:
https://www.mlb.com/commerce/mvpd/nationals
Previously they'd only listed four or five carriers. Carriers now available include Armstrong, Astound, Cox, DIRECTV, DIRECTV Stream, Fubo, Spectrum, Verizon FIOS, and Xfinity.
I have an Xfinity subscription at home that includes Nats coverage, and I had no issues authenticating this afternoon and adding Nats.tv to my mlb account. I was able to stream the win today through the app with no issues.
I just purchased a 2nd flute for my daughter to use at band camp and in marching band. It is a "used, like new" Yamaha YFL-222 from Chuck Levin's in Maryland: https://chucklevins.com/products/yamaha-yfl-222-standard-flute-closed-hole-offset-g-c-foot-used-like-new
What arrived in a very slightly damaged box appears to be a brand new, never unpacked YFL-222 in International packaging. The serial number on the flute matches the packaging (I've blurred it in the pictures). All of the engraving appears to be crisp and correct. It even includes a product registration card (a QR code sending you to the Yamaha website).
Here's my question: in attempting to register the warranty, Yamaha only lists YFL-222Y as a model number one can register. This flute seems to be YFL-222//U ID. I take that to mean this is an international model, and not registerable on the Yamaha US site? Given that it was only $499, not $1200 for a new in box US model, I'm not too bothered by the warranty difference. But are there any other quality differences between this 222 and a new US market 222? I've read they are all made in Indonesia, but would appreciate confirming.
Does anyone see anything suspect in these pictures that make you doubt this flute is genuine? I don't, but I've only got web pictures to go on. Thanks for any feedback.
This thing popped up in the marketplace today for all of 15 points. I grabbed one as I'd never seen it before. When I picked it up the guy at the RCR desk said he hadn't seen them before today either. I searched and found none on eBay.
Anyone know the story behind this lovely little ball cradle? I will cherish it forever. They should do these as a game day promo do that everyones balls may sit in comfort. Sadly they're all sold out, and it seems like they only had a couple.
Nats were at 65.5. After one month of the season we're on pace to win 76.
Marlins were at 72.5. On pace to win 78.
Braves were at 85.5. On pace to win 111.
Phillies were at 89.5. On pace to win 59.
Mets were at an NL East leading 90.5. On pace to win 52 games.
LOLMETS.
What a crazy division.
Looks like the team may have responded to feedback on how broken the current rewards program was after the off-season devaluation. From today's RCR newsletter:

As a 21 game plan holder in a low price ticket bracket, I started the season with 50 RCR points. They just gave me another 800 for my longevity bonus (IDK how calculated), plus I got 50 for the trivia and another 10 for completing their polls.
If I can earn 120 points a month just on trivia and polls, I'm happy. All I really care about is getting bobbleheads I miss later in the season, and this should get me enough points to do that.
We're sending Littell, Cavalli, and Mikolas up against Clay Holmes, a TBD, and Freddy Peralta.
On paper, these games won't be close. But we've seen the Mets aren't playing games on paper, they're playing them inside their own heads.
How do you see the series going?
